Chapter 294 What's wrong with me?
The body had already turned to bones.

They have been buried for at least a year.

After looking around the burial site and finding no clues, they carried the bones and started walking back.

The mountains here are quite steep, so the descent is much slower.

When they arrived at the foot of the mountain and sat in the car, Su Miaoyi felt that something was not right.

She was sweating profusely, and she felt weak and her heart was beating too fast.

"Sister Miaomiao, what's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?" Chu Xingrou quickly took her arm.

Lu Zhishen also looked over: "Heatstroke?"

"Oh? Really? I thought it was just that the scenery was so beautiful that I was tempted," Su Miaoyi said.

A hint of helplessness appeared on Chu Xingrou's worried face.

Lu Zhishen: "."

"It's alright," Su Miaoyi said. "Let's go back first and talk about it later."

Upon arriving at the village committee, she quickly found the village doctor, took some medicine, and then leaned back in a chair with her eyes closed.

"You're all alright." Su Miaoyi's hair was already soaked with sweat. "How come I'm the only one with heatstroke?"

“Because none of us walked that far in the blazing sun wearing coats and without drinking a drop of water,” Lu Zhishen said. “We were uncomfortable, yet we still talked.”

"Talking makes me feel better," Su Miaoyi said.

“There’s a bed in the duty room. Go lie down and take a nap,” Lu Zhishen said. “Or we can go to town now and go back to get some sleep.”

“I’m not going, I’ll stay here.” Su Miaoyi leaned back in her chair. “It’s comfortable to stay here like this. I’m all sweaty, and it’s not comfortable to lie down.”

Chu Xingrou took the alcohol and wiped her palms.

"You guys go ahead and do your work. I've already taken my medicine, and it's not serious," Su Miaoyi said. "Don't worry about me."

Lu Zhishen went to find Duan Wenrui.

The skeleton definitely needs to be sent to the city for an autopsy.

Chu Xingrou and Su Miaoyi sat for a while, and seeing that Su Miaoyi had nothing else to do, Chu Xingrou went to get busy as well.

Su Miaoyi leaned back in her chair and after a while said, "Tell me what has happened these past two days."

"You should rest for a while," the voice in my head said.

"It's nothing, just a little dizzy and weak, nothing serious," Su Miaoyi said. "Go on, I'm listening."

The voice in her head told her everything that had happened in the past few days, in great detail.

Su Miaoyi witnessed the cases of Tian De, Gao Hui, and Tian Dajiang jumping into the well; she remembered all of these events.

I just don't know what their names are.

The voice in my head synchronized the name with her.

Then came Wan Shuang's case, the case that happened on the day they arrived in Yanjing Village.

And Wu An, who went missing in the village a year ago.

It involves many people's names, such as Tian Min, Tian Ming, and Tian Liu.

Su Miaoyi understood everything she heard.

We are aware of all the clues we have so far.

However, she kept her eyes closed the whole time and didn't have any documents on hand.

So she only knew the names, but didn't know what the people corresponding to those names looked like.

"When you feel better, go look at the documents, or if you run into anyone, I'll remind you," the voice in your head said.

“You’re such a good person,” Su Miaoyi said.

"roll."

"How could you do this? I praised you, and you told me to get lost. I'm so heartbroken. My heart aches as if it's been pierced by a thousand arrows."

The voice in her head said, "Listen to yourself, is that a serious tone?" Su Miaoyi smiled.

So, do you have any clues now?

“No,” Su Miaoyi said. “Suppose, according to the numbers, Wu An is the third case, but where would the number be written? We didn’t find it at the burial site.”

"You don't think it's the same killer?"

“It’s uncertain,” Su Miaoyi said. “Right now, the killer is being far too cautious. We only know about the cases, but we don’t get any information about the killer. And another thing is the time gap between these cases: two three years ago, and one missing person case a year ago.”

She paused for a moment, then said, "In the past three years, there has only been one missing person case in this town, Wu An. Judging from the skeleton and the tattered cloth on it today, the skeleton has been buried for more than a year, so there is a high chance that it is Wu An's. But we cannot rule out the possibility that the skeleton belongs to someone from out of town."

After saying that, she continued to talk about the interval between cases: "The interval between Wan Shuang's cases is a mystery. Cases 1, 2, and 4 all give people the feeling that I am here for revenge, which is the same style as playing the ballad. So why does case 3 give this feeling of being hidden?"

"Could it be that the body isn't Wu An's, and we still haven't found it?"

“Not discovering it is also a form of concealment.” Su Miaoyi sighed, “I don’t understand.”

The voice in my head stopped speaking.

After nearly three minutes of silence, Su Miaoyi suddenly asked, "Why did I black out again?"

No one paid any attention to her.

"Hmm? Why aren't you saying anything?" Su Miaoyi asked.

Still no one paid attention to her.

"are you still there?"

No sound.

"Hello? Hello?! Hello! Are you still in the service area? Hello! Beautiful and aloof lady, are you still there? Please reply 'Received' if you hear me."

As Su Miaoyi was speaking, she suddenly heard footsteps outside the door.

It doesn't seem like Lu Zhishen or Chu Xingrou.

She opened her eyes and looked towards the doorway.

There was a knock on the door: "Advisor Su, are you alright?"

Duan Wenrui's voice.

"I'm fine, much better," Su Miaoyi said.

"That's good." Duan Wenrui said, "I came to the office next door to get something and heard you talking, so I came over to ask. I'm glad you're alright."

"Ah, it's nothing." Su Miaoyi closed her eyes awkwardly. "I... I have a habit of talking to myself. You go ahead with your work."

"Okay." Duan Wenrui left.

Su Miaoyi tilted her head back and closed her eyes again. Two seconds later, she heard a voice in her head laugh.

“You did it on purpose, you’re just making fun of me,” Su Miaoyi said.

"He's quite self-aware," the voice in my head said.

“Look into my eyes and answer me, why did I black out again?” Su Miaoyi asked.

The voice in my head paused for two seconds: "Tell me, how should I look into your eyes?"

“Answer the question, don’t say anything else,” Su Miaoyi said.

"I don't know either. I just suddenly appeared when I saw that image of Tian Dajiang, and then you don't know anything anymore," the voice in my head said. "Did you see something?"

"Weren't we both supposed to see it at the same time? Didn't you see it?" Su Miaoyi thought about the scene at that time.

Her memory stopped at the moment when Tian Dajiang struggled in the well, then closed his eyes and fell into darkness.

She didn't know what happened after that; her next memory was of digging a hole on the mountain.

"I didn't see it," the voice in my head said.

Su Miaoyi didn't say anything more. The last time this happened, it was because she was too badly injured. This time she wasn't injured, so what happened?

We should ask Lu Zhishen or Chu Xingrou.
 Goodnight everybody
