Chapter 76 Have you ever seen a pervert who looks like me?

Noticing Su Ruoyun's skillful technique, someone praised her generously, saying, "Her tea-making skills are truly exceptional."

Upon hearing this, Old Su's eyes were filled with pride, and he smiled as he replied, "My granddaughter is excellent in every way."

Old Master Huo sighed deeply, "I would also like a granddaughter, but unfortunately..."

The Huo family has only three male descendants.

He hadn't finished speaking, but those around him understood what he meant.

Someone casually remarked, "Wanting a granddaughter is easy; he already has three grandsons, so why would he worry about not being able to marry Xiaojun?"

Old Su's face turned dark.

……

People chatted casually in the lounge, and some left after giving their gifts.

It wasn't until Su Jiayi walked in with a relaxed gait to call for someone that Su Ruoyun, supporting Old Master Su, slowly walked out of the lounge together.

The birthday banquet procedures were all pretty much the same. After a few performances, the banquet officially began, and many people walked towards the main table with their wine glasses in hand...

Under the guise of toasting Old Master Su, they took the opportunity to chat with Su Ruoyun. Since they were all there to wish Old Master Su a happy birthday, Su Ruoyun naturally couldn't refuse and returned the toasts one by one.

Compared to Su Ruoyun, Su Mingyan was already a bit drunk after a few drinks. He had no one to rely on, and he couldn't ask his father and second uncle to drink on his behalf, so he inevitably drank a few more cups.

He called his younger sister over and specifically instructed her, "Keep an eye on things for me."

Su Ruoyun, confused and not understanding, asked, "Who are you taking care of?"

After she finished speaking, she looked up and met Su Mingyan's ambiguous smile. She instantly understood and wanted to agree immediately, but then she remembered the information she had obtained at the auction and took the opportunity to make her own request.

"I'll ask you a question, you answer me, and then I'll agree to your request."

Su Mingyan saw through the cunning hidden beneath her beautiful face at a glance, sighed helplessly, bent his long finger, pinched the bridge of his nose, and then said with a hint of indulgence, "Ask away."

"Were you already interested in her before the blind date?"

This didn't get a direct response from Su Mingyan, but...

Su Ruoyun already knew the answer.

Su Ruoyun scanned the crowd and quickly locked onto her target. She walked towards Jiang Xihan, and the men who were talking to her seemed to have a telepathic connection and quietly withdrew.

When Su Ruoyun approached, their eyes met briefly in mid-air. A single glance spoke volumes, and their gratitude was unspoken. Then, the two walked hand in hand to the women's lounge.

Su Ruoyun and Jiang Xihan originally thought that the women's lounge would be quieter without the disturbance of men, but to their surprise, even the socialites and heiresses of Beijing started toasting her.

After a few drinks, his phone vibrated; it was a message from Huo Jingcheng.

—[I'll be waiting for you in the last lounge on the right side of the first floor.]
Immediately following, a second message arrived. Just two simple words: [Something came up.]
Su Ruoyun hesitated for a moment, her fingertips lightly tracing the phone screen, then raised her hand and typed, "What is it?"
However, after sending those words, Huo Jingcheng did not reply to her.

The birthday banquet was drawing to a close. She casually made up an excuse, turned her head and whispered something to Jiang Xihan beside her, then got up and left the lounge.

The women's lounge was on the left. She walked straight ahead, then around the corner, and went to the innermost room, which was the lounge Huo Jingcheng had mentioned.

Su Ruoyun pushed open the door gently and stepped into the room. Her high heels shone lightly on the thick, soft carpet, each step appearing slow and heavy.

The lounge was pitch black, except for the open curtains that allowed the starlight and lights from outside to filter in, offering a glimpse into a corner of the room.

She subconsciously gathered her hair, tucking stray strands behind her ears with her long fingers. She glanced around the pitch-black room, then raised her hand and pressed the light switch. With a crisp "click," the dim light instantly dispelled the darkness in the room. Looking up, she saw Huo Jingcheng sitting by the French windows.

On that low table, wine glasses and bottles were casually placed, and a third of the red wine in the bottle had already been drunk.

He exuded a carefree and unconventional air. His navy blue suit was off and placed on the sofa armrest. A few buttons on his shirt were undone, and the collar was slightly open. A fine black tie was loosely draped over his collar, the ends hanging down naturally and trembling with his breathing. The faint hint of drunkenness added to his charm.

Outside the window, light and shadow intertwined on the glass, like a flowing abstract painting. The light and shadow fell on his face, making his already well-defined features even more profound and three-dimensional. His gaze, through this layer of light and shadow, quietly and silently fell on her.

Su Ruoyun felt a sudden chill run down her spine and unconsciously avoided his unwavering gaze, asking stiffly, "What do you want from me?"

"Come here." Huo Jingcheng's voice was lazy, yet mellow with the richness of wine, and his unquestionable tone broke the silence in the air.

Unsure if he truly had something important to discuss with her, Su Ruoyun took a step towards him, hesitating with each step, and finally stopped three steps away from him.

She asked again, "Is there something you need?"

Huo Jingcheng surveyed the distance between the two of them, his eyes filled with dissatisfaction. Then, he straightened up slightly, raised his long arm, and with a swift and decisive movement, grabbed her wrist, the force in his hand carrying an unyielding strength.

Before Su Ruoyun could react, he pulled her into his arms and forcefully dragged her onto his lap.

Su Ruoyun was still wondering what Huo Jingcheng wanted to do with her, lost in her own thoughts, and for a moment, she didn't notice the commotion around her.

Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of a blur, and a large hand reached out towards her. Su Ruoyun instinctively tried to back away, but she was no match for Huo Jingcheng's quick hand. An irresistible force suddenly pulled her into a warm and firm embrace.

The way she was straddling someone looked a bit odd, and without thinking, she blurted out, "You pervert!"

Huo Jingcheng wrapped his large arm around her waist, the pressure just right, as if declaring a certain possession. He then leaned back comfortably on the sofa, tilting his head slightly, his eyes full of mockery and amusement as he stared at her with interest: "You keep using the same old 'pervert' to insult me. Can't you come up with something new? Besides..."

As he spoke, he mischievously bounced his legs, causing Su Ruoyun, who was sitting on his lap, to sway back and forth involuntarily. She quickly reached out and grabbed his shoulder to steady herself.

Seeing this, he raised an eyebrow, a faint smile flashing in his eyes, his voice utterly nonchalant: "Have you ever seen a pervert who looks like me?"

"narcissism!"
