Chapter 133 Marriage
Huo Jingcheng's natural tone gave Su Ruoyun a momentary illusion: was this her room or his room?

Su Ruoyun prepared to climb into bed and took off her indoor slippers next to the bench at the foot of the bed. Standing barefoot on the cold tiles, the chill spread from her feet up, and she swayed involuntarily, as if she was a little unsteady.

She lightly stepped one foot on the instep of the other, bit her lip, and managed to utter, "There are still many rooms on the second floor."

The maid just led her to see all the rooms on the second floor. There are many empty rooms, not just hers.

Huo Jingcheng seemed oblivious to her implied meaning, looking at her with a blank and confused expression, and asked indifferently, "So?"

He then placed the beautifully bound English translation of "The Red and the Black" on the bedside table with a soft thud.

Su Ruoyun was speechless at his words, staring at him for a while, "So...so you go sleep in another room."

While Su Ruoyun was taking a bath, the maid had already tidied up her room's large bed, changing the sheets and duvet cover to a clean, light-colored floral pattern.

Huo Jingcheng gave no other instructions, so the servants naturally assumed that the two of them were sleeping in the same room, and therefore did not tidy up the other rooms.

There was an alarm clock on the bedside table. It was already 10:15 p.m. Su Ruoyun originally wanted to say, "Let the maid prepare another room for you," but when she saw the time, she gave up the idea and felt embarrassed to disturb the maid's rest.

Seeing that she couldn't change the situation and realizing that Huo Jingcheng was deliberately 'teasing' her, Su Ruoyun gave up.

Under the man's deep gaze, she began to make new movements, raising her knees and slowly climbing from the foot of the bed to the top, using both hands and feet to step over the retro and exquisite bench at the foot of the bed.

She would climb for a bit, then stop for a second. Finally, unable to bear Huo Jingcheng's burning gaze, Su Ruoyun reached out and grabbed the thin blanket next to her, covering her head with it. Then she continued to climb up using both her hands and feet. The whole process looked somewhat comical, yet also uniquely adorable.

Huo Jingcheng was amused by her actions, a smile tugging at his thin lips, his chest rising and falling slightly, and his eyes overflowing with laughter.

Su Ruoyun was covered by the blanket and couldn't tell exactly where she was. She could only rely on her senses. As a result, she accidentally climbed too far and bumped her head against the headboard cushion.

Fortunately, the cushion was made of leather, and there was a quilt on top of her head, which provided some elasticity and cushioning. It didn't hurt much when she bumped into it, but the reaction force caused Su Ruoyun to lose her balance instantly and fall heavily backward onto the soft bed.

Seeing this, Huo Jingcheng hurriedly reached out, his long, slender fingers hooking a corner of the thin blanket, and was about to pull the blanket off her head. "Does it hurt?"
However, because Su Ruoyun was tightly gripping the corner of the blanket inside the blanket, the blanket was firmly placed over her head and could not be easily pulled off.

Huo Jingcheng didn't dwell on it too much. He naturally loosened his grip, looked at the little figure in the blanket, and asked again, "Does it hurt?"

Su Ruoyun had a quilt on her head, like a veil, and when she shook her head, the scattered corners of the quilt around her swayed.

She was under the covers when she raised her hand to touch her forehead. There was a slightly dented spot, and it still hurt a little. She felt embarrassed and didn't want to get out of bed.

Just then, taking advantage of her inattention, Huo Jingcheng quickly lifted the entire quilt as if lifting a veil, and the thin quilt naturally slid down onto the carpet, piling up like a mountain.

Caught off guard, Su Ruoyun's vision suddenly brightened. Her eyes widened as she looked in the direction the blanket had been pulled back, reaching out to pull it back, but her hands were empty. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of the blanket on the floor. Su Ruoyun: "..."

She bent down again, and, in a self-deceptive act, grabbed the blanket from the carpet and put it over her head again.

For a long time, the room fell silent.

Su Ruoyun tentatively lifted her eyelids and peeked out through a thin gap in the blanket, where Huo Jingcheng's leisurely gaze met her eyes.

"Isn't it hot?"

Su Ruoyun's fair cheeks flushed slightly, but she forced herself to remain calm and said, "It's not hot."

She couldn't tell whether she was blushing from the heat or from what Huo Jingcheng had said.

As far as she could remember, she had never slept in the same bed with another man.

It came so fast that she was caught off guard.

Just as the two were locked in a stalemate, Huo Jingcheng suddenly straightened up, stretched out his long arm, put one hand around her back and hooked the back of her legs with the other, pulling Su Ruoyun into his arms. At the same time, he also grabbed the blanket underneath and wrapped it properly around her waist.

He held her firmly in his arms, in a side-hug position. Noticing her stiffness, his large hand naturally stroked her shoulder, his broad palm easily enveloping her slender shoulder, while his other hand pressed against her soft waist.

The woman's entire body was enveloped by him.

"Don't you want to sleep in the same bed with me?"

Su Ruoyun clung to his strong, muscular arms with both hands. Hearing his words, she looked up at him with her delicate face and said, "If I say I don't want to, will you just get out of bed so easily?"

Hearing this, Huo Jingcheng nestled his head in the crook of her neck and chuckled softly, his low laughter echoing in her ear, "What will we do after we get married?"

Su Ruoyun wasn't a confrontational person, but she didn't want to see Huo Jingcheng so smug right now, so she couldn't help but retort, "Who can guarantee that we'll get married in the future?"

Upon hearing this, Huo Jingcheng's eyes narrowed sharply, a cold glint flashing in them, like a lurking beast instantly locking onto its prey. His icy aura suddenly tightened. "If you don't want to marry me, who do you want to marry?"

"I won't be with you no matter who else I'm with." Su Ruoyun said this, but she still snuggled closer to his warm chest, her slightly warm face pressed against his cool silk pajamas to relieve the heat.

Sensing her closeness, Huo Jingcheng's breath hitched slightly, and the hand around Su Ruoyun's waist tightened slowly. A smile appeared on his thin lips. "Then you're doomed. I can only marry you in this lifetime."

“…Then I’ll reluctantly agree.” Su Ruoyun pursed her lips and said casually, her gaze falling idly on the sofa opposite her.

The bedside lamp cast an orange glow, illuminating a corner of the bed. Bathed in this light, Huo Jingcheng squinted almost imperceptibly. "Marry me, and you're going to force yourself?"
