Chapter 132 Trip to the United States

Chapter 132 Trip to the United States
After considering it for less than five minutes, Su Ruoyun agreed.

The trip to the United States was a pre-arranged plan, with routes booked in advance for the private jet.

Su Ruoyun carefully explained some things to the teahouse staff to ensure everything was in order, and then told her family that she was going abroad for a trip.

The Su family was used to Su Ruoyun going abroad. In the past, it was common for her to travel with the Central Philharmonic Orchestra for more than half a month at a time, so they did not make any connection to it.

The following evening, Su Ruoyun and Huo Jingcheng arrived at the airport. Among the many airliners, a Gulfstream G700 was quietly parked.

The two boarded the passenger boarding bridge and entered the cabin of the Gulfstream G700. They walked into the cabin at a leisurely pace, and their suitcases were taken by the flight attendants.

Huo Jingcheng pulled Su Ruoyun to a seat. The man's hands were hot, and in no time, a thin layer of sweat covered the back of Su Ruoyun's hands, but he still refused to let go.

Su Ruoyun tried to wrest control of her hand from his grasp, but to no avail; he still held it tightly.

This trip was a business trip, and Huo Jingcheng's assistant Lin Cheng and several other assistants and secretaries were with him.

Su Ruoyun turned her head and glanced at the group of people. She hesitated for a moment, about to speak, but then stopped. "You..."

She left some room for maneuver in front of Huo Jingcheng's subordinates, but seeing that he wouldn't let go even for a second, she couldn't help but lean down and whisper in his ear, "Are you a child?"

Su Ruoyun's tone carried a hint of reproach; in her eyes, only children would be so clingy.

Upon hearing this, Huo Jingcheng raised an eyebrow and readily released his hand. After Su Ruoyun took a tissue and slowly wiped her hands clean, he took her hand again.

Unlike before, this time their fingers were intertwined. Huo Jingcheng deliberately slowed down his movements as if to show her, hooking Su Ruoyun's left hand and slowly pressing down their five fingers.

Su Ruoyun frowned, her five slender fingers twitching slightly without splashing a single drop of water, and could only let him continue to hold her.

The people sitting behind the two looked at each other in surprise when they saw this scene, but Lin Cheng was already used to it, so he was particularly calm, as if to say, "You are all too young," and closed his eyes to pretend to be asleep.

After the plane took off smoothly, the cabin gradually quieted down. Due to her biological clock, after only an hour, Su Ruoyun slowed down her blinking and finally tilted her head to the side, falling asleep with her head resting against the pillow.

Seeing this, Huo Jingcheng unbuckled her seatbelt, bent down and hooked Su Ruoyun's legs, easily picking her up and carrying her into the room where they were resting.

She fell into a deep sleep during the smooth flight of the plane and in Huo Jingcheng's warm embrace. Ten hours later, she slept until she woke up naturally.

Su Ruoyun slowly opened her eyes, her consciousness still somewhat hazy. When she regained her senses, she realized that the plane was already approaching Los Angeles.

Huo Jingcheng had already woken up and was reading an all-English newspaper. Noticing the slight noise, he looked up and asked, "Awake?"

Su Ruoyun nodded, then covered her mouth and gave a delicate yawn. Her gaze drifted through the porthole to the view above. In the boundless sky, fluffy clouds floated like cotton wool, the sky's color gradually changing from azure to pinkish-purple. A short while later, a flight attendant in uniform brought over a delicate dessert and a glass of milk.

After a twelve-hour flight, we arrived smoothly at Los Angeles International Airport. Los Angeles is in the Western Time Zone 7 during daylight saving time, and we landed at 18:00 local time.

Los Angeles, also known as the 'City of Angels', was bathed in the golden light of the setting sun as I stepped off the passenger boarding stairs. The afterglow of the sunset streamed through the airport's glass facade, painting the entire airport in gold.

Su Ruoyun raised her long fingers and tucked a few stray strands of hair behind her ear, her delicate and beautiful face bathed in the summer twilight.

A Rolls-Royce was already waiting outside the airport.

Several assistants stayed at a hotel in the city and did not travel with them. The driver, wearing white gloves, got out of the car, put the two women's suitcases into the trunk, and then respectfully opened the car door.

Su Ruoyun raised her hand to gather her skirt, bent down and sat in the back seat. Huo Jingcheng took a long stride and followed her into the car. The luxury car then drove out of the airport. The private estate was located in Bradbury, Los Angeles, only a kilometer away from the famous Sunset Boulevard.

As night deepened, Los Angeles was bathed in a rich orange-red glow. Streetlights along the roads lit up one after another, and a stubborn smudge of crimson remained on the horizon, its color vivid and intense. Cars sped by on the busy roads, leaving only blurry afterimages.

Arrival at the manor was at 7:45 PM. Even though it was not a place to stay often, it was equipped with a full complement of servants. The manor chef had been notified and had already prepared dinner, waiting for the arrival of the master.

Dinner consisted of creamy lobster pasta, pan-seared ribeye steak, lobster bisque, and chocolate ice cream croissants…

After dinner, Huo Jingcheng received a business call, while Su Ruoyun climbed the spiral staircase to the second floor, the corridor filled with a faint, pleasant woody scent.

There were plenty of spare rooms, so she chose a bedroom that looked nice and moved in. She slumped her suitcase on the floor, unzipped it, and arranged her things one by one. After everything was tidied up, she went into the bathroom, took a bath, and relaxed.

The warm water enveloped her, and Su Ruoyun enjoyed this quiet and free moment.

Having just emerged from the bathroom, the lingering steam still enveloped her. Su Ruoyun used a hairdryer to partially dry her slightly wavy long hair, the ends still damp, which hung obediently behind her. The scent of mimosa flower hair oil lingered in the air.

She shuffled out of the bathroom in her slippers, but her steps faltered as soon as she stepped onto the bathroom mat.

The figure beside the bed was too tall for her to ignore.

Huo Jingcheng sat leisurely on the side of the bed, leaning back against the headboard. He had changed into silk pajamas, which gently wrapped around his body. His bangs were still damp, carrying the moisture from his shower. A series of water droplets slid down his hair, leaving a small wet patch on his pajamas.

He held a book in his hand, his long fingers casually turning the pages. The only sound in the room was the rustling of the pages, exuding a strong sense of marital bliss.

Su Ruoyun finally stopped by the bench at the foot of the bed. Even though she was wearing a bathrobe that covered her completely, she still subconsciously raised her hand to cover her chest and looked at Huo Jingcheng with a wary expression: "What are you doing in my room?"

Upon hearing this, Huo Jingcheng paused in his book-flipping motion, the rustling sound abruptly ceasing. He casually lifted his long eyelashes and said in an indescribably natural tone, "Go to sleep."
