Chapter 39 The "Fake Person" in the Elevator

Chapter 39 The "Fake Person" in the Elevator (New book seeking monthly votes)
"This is the taste, the taste of going back to my parents' home."

While everyone was looking at each other in bewilderment, Han Su, who was in the crowd, slightly loosened his tense nerves, let out a comfortable sigh, and then turned his head slightly to look around.

While everyone else was focused on the elevator, not even blinking, Han Su was more attentive to his surroundings.

so similar.

The space was filled with an indescribable tension and eeriness; even the air seemed to be filled with countless unknown and invisible threads, stitching the entire space together.

Something was watching from within the shadows; the shadows seemed to come alive, flowing, gathering, and dispersing in the darkness.

Han Su knew what this feeling was like. He had been to the castle too many times, and this feeling had even seeped into his bones. It was a sign that something twisted was about to appear, and it was also the mysterious aura that only monsters that should not exist in reality possessed.

He had seen this feeling many times before in ancient castles, but he never thought that he could relive this familiar feeling in a modern building.

How should I put it? It felt like a nightmare I've been having every day had suddenly become a reality.

"Be careful."

Less than a second had passed. Everyone else was still in a daze, and many even looked at the chubby boy, wanting to ask him a question, but the reminder came from Han Su's mouth.

At the same time, he had already drawn his gun.

"Hey!"

In that moment of confusion, it felt as if something heavy was being torn apart; it was the rationality of reality fading away.

The next moment, the four elevators that they had been guarding all night without any movement were opened simultaneously, and then, a pale, humanoid thing, like goods piled up inside the elevator, poured out.

Those present were caught off guard and were knocked to the ground by the thing.

That thing was sticky and clearly had a human shape, but it was too soft to touch and didn't have the texture of human skin. Suddenly, someone saw the thing's face.

The heart almost leaped out of its chest, because the thing had no human face at all, only a blank space like a lump of dough, strangely writhing and twisting.

"Ah ah ah..."

This unimaginable change caused several people present to scream simultaneously.

The feeling of mystery and the bizarre rushing towards you is okay to hear about, but once you get close enough to experience it, or even feel it on your face, you'll realize how fragile your rationality really is.

"Bah!"

But at that moment, gunshots rang out. Han Su had already taken a step back before the elevator doors opened, and then fired without hesitation.

When the bullets hit these things, it sounded as if something was breaking.

On the dough figure, there were bright red wounds where the skin had been torn, and then, bright red blood spurted out. The dough figure closest to Han Su also staggered backward, as if it were a real person who had been shot.

"It's working..."

"But you can't..."

"..."

Han Su thought to himself, but his wrist trembled slightly.

The man in the black hood told me that the gun's recoil would be significant and even taught me several effective techniques to reduce it, but he didn't tell me it would be this strong...

It's just a pistol, not a machine gun, why make the recoil so big?
What are those researchers doing?
"Crench!"

In that instant, before anyone could react, the man in camouflage suddenly strode forward and rushed into the crowd.

His exceptional reflexes allowed him to dodge the swarm of dough figures that rushed out of the elevator, but he also immediately saw the student being pinned to the ground.

All four elevators opened at the same time, and what came out of them was too strange. Only Han Su, the man in camouflage, the chubby guy, and another student who was already standing on the outside managed to get out of the way. Three students were directly crushed underneath.

The man in camouflage held a gun in his hand, but after hesitating for a moment, he didn't use it.

He instantly holstered the gun in his waist pouch, and facing the two pale faces rushing towards him, he took a sudden step forward, pulled his elbows, and then, with his body arched like a bow, slammed solidly into the other person's face.

The other person's face was very soft, as if it had no bones, which effectively neutralized the camouflage man's strength.

But his elbow was too hard and powerful, and although it was soft, it had a waxy feel and would still bear some of the force, so it was smashed solidly and sent flying.

The next moment, the camouflage-clad man lunged forward, raised his knee, and sent another dough-like figure, who had just gotten halfway up, flying into the air.

Immediately afterward, he ducked down sharply, and a dough figure that had lunged at him from above was knocked aside by his head. The space around him suddenly cleared, and he quickly pulled a student off the ground to his feet, tossed him aside without even looking back at the crowd, and then used the wall for leverage to leap into the air.

In that instant, it seemed as if he were flying over walls and leaping across rooftops. He took several steps and rushed deeper into the area, pulling out another student who was surrounded by countless dough figures and throwing him far away outside the circle of dough figures.

The moment he landed, he turned and hooked a dough figure that had just approached, hooking it into the air and then followed up with a kick, sending it crashing to the ground.

His movements were swift and powerful, like a mad bull, yet he possessed a calmness that was extremely intimidating.

When the man in camouflage wasn't making a move, he just seemed dull and cold. But once he started fighting, he gave off a strangely terrifying feeling.

Wherever he went, the scattered dough figures were sent flying as if they were made of paper, quickly creating an empty circle around him.

The third student was about to be pulled in by countless hands reaching out from inside the elevator when he managed to grab his neck in time, pull him back with force, and forcefully pull the student, who had completely lost his mind, out.

"This guy is really good at fighting?"

Even Han Su, who was watching from the outside, couldn't help but twitch his eyebrows at this moment.

"Yes, it's a monster..."

Nearby, a trainee who had just been rescued by the man in camouflage managed to call out only now, trembling as he picked up his gun and frantically released the safety.

"Just a monster, haven't you seen one before?"

Han Su reacted quickly, slapping the gun to the ground and shouting, "There are people inside, don't shoot randomly!"

The student was almost in tears: "Who the hell has ever seen this before?"
After knocking the student's gun away, Han Su glanced around and noticed the others. Fearing they might accidentally shoot the camouflaged man trapped inside while rescuing people, he loudly warned those inside:

"Are your fists harder than bullets?"

"..."

The man in camouflage saw Han Su's face and knew he was being reminded, but remembering what the chubby boy had just said, he still seemed a little hesitant.

Just then, the chubby boy next to him seemed to have finally realized something and shouted, "Shoot! Shoot! Our mission is to stop them from coming out..."

"wrong……"

He had barely finished shouting when he hurriedly added, "Be careful, don't hurt your own people."

"..."

"Boom boom boom!"

Among the dough figures, the camouflage-clad man finally stopped hesitating, swung his elbow to knock one of them back, and drew his gun at the same time. It was as if he had turned on the switch of some kind of killing machine, instantly shooting headshots and knocking several dough figures around him to the ground.

They fired their guns as they fought their way out of the room.

But at that moment, as the elevator doors opened and closed, countless people suddenly poured out again. This time it was even stranger; they were almost unrecognizable as human.

A dozen twisted arms, as if connected by some bizarre surgery, waved and grabbed the camouflage man's shoulders, arms, back, and even tried to snatch the gun from his hand.

The man in camouflage twisted his body and swung his elbow, breaking free most of the way, eager to snatch it away.

But immediately, more hands reached out from inside the elevator and grabbed him, trying to pull him into the elevator.

But in that instant, Han Su suddenly took a step forward, still holding the gun in his right hand, and subconsciously reached out his left hand, grabbed the camouflage man's hand from a distance, and then pulled hard.

Upon pulling, he realized just how heavy the camouflage man was. It was hard to imagine how strong those arms were. Not only could he not pull the camouflage man, but he himself felt like he was about to be pulled over.

But even in this tense state, Han Su's attention was already focused on his left hand, which was under increasing pressure.

Without realizing it, the scar on the back of my left hand suddenly started to hurt terribly.

In this dimly lit place, the cross-shaped scar inexplicably shimmered with a bronze hue, as if it were not formed from piles of flesh and blood, but rather from some kind of strange bronze casting.

Han Su felt that the mental energy he had focused on the scar was being depleted.

But at the same moment, his left hand suddenly became strange, stiff, and unusually powerful, as if it had transformed from flesh and blood into a bronze-cast machine.

He grabbed the camouflage man's hand, squeezing it so hard that the bones cracked. The next moment, he pushed off the ground with his right foot and pulled the camouflage man, who weighed at least 200 pounds, from the crowd, over his head, and slammed him outside the crowd.
