Chapter 12, 12, One Arrow Kills Instantly
Chapter 12, Instant Kill with One Arrow
……
"Zhou Min, a fire-elemental girl. Hmm, this girl is quite to my liking. And Mo Fan is pretty good too, though his personality is a bit too rebellious." In a tent, Chief Instructor Zhan Kong stroked his stubble and said.
“Our group is now far ahead of the other students. Should we have someone set some limits on their progress? Otherwise, this training won’t be very effective for the other students,” Zhang Jianguo asked.
"No need to rush. There's still a Dark Wolf in the mountain pass. These students are no match for it. After they've learned their lesson, we'll have to wait for the others to arrive before we can join forces." Zhan Kong said calmly, as if he had already seen through everything.
However, no sooner had he finished speaking than a shrill scream came from outside the tent.
"what!!!!!!!!!"
Zhan Kong's expression changed; it was Bai Yang's scream!
He immediately got up and rushed out of the tent.
Bai Yang was kneeling on the ground, his eyes bloodshot, his hands gripping his hair and pulling hard, his expression extremely strange, as if he had suffered some kind of mental attack.
"Bai Yang, what happened?" Zhan Kong asked with a grave expression.
Everyone rushed over, looking at Bai Yang with a puzzled expression.
He slowly raised his head, revealing a face that looked as if his parents had died.
"My Shadow Wolf Beast...my Shadow Wolf Beast...is dead...dead!"
Upon hearing this, everyone present wore expressions of disbelief.
Go back a few minutes.
As soon as the group entered the valley, they saw the vines recede and the sky clear up. They all lay down on the ground with a sigh of relief, panting heavily, as if they had finally survived this hellish journey.
"Finally, I can take a breather..."
"If it weren't for Chen Hao, I probably would have been hanged by those vines..."
"Fire magic is so useful!"
Some people were talking, some were taking a nap with their eyes closed, and some even took off their shoes and fell asleep immediately.
At this moment, Chen Hao showed no sign of relaxing. He surveyed the valley, taking in the terrain, and then quietly stepped forward, heading towards the northern mountain pass.
"Hey, hey, where is Chen Hao going again?"
"He wouldn't really want to take down that ghost wolf beast by himself, would he?"
Someone noticed and exclaimed in surprise, instantly attracting everyone's attention.
Zhou Min frowned and stood up: "Has he... gone mad?"
Mo Fan and Zhang Xiaohou exchanged a glance and quickly followed up, advising, "Brother Hao, are you going to hunt the One-Eyed Demon Wolf alone? That's too dangerous. Why don't we wait until everyone has rested before going together?"
"No need. If you two are tired, go and rest. The training will be over soon." Chen Hao didn't stop walking and silently took down the large pulley compound bow from his back.
He drew a fine iron arrow, nocked it on the alloy string, and prepared to unleash this deadly weapon at any moment.
Zhang Xiaohou opened his mouth, wanting to say something more, but Mo Fan grabbed him. He shook his head at the monkey, said nothing more, and the two silently followed behind Chen Hao.
Chen Hao glanced at the mountain pass out of the corner of his eye, a slight smile playing on his lips, and continued walking forward until he reached the pass itself, which was completely dark, making it impossible for a normal person to see anything.
He took a flashlight out of his bag and tied it securely to the bow with a rope.
At this moment, Chen Hao was clad in iron armor, tall and imposing. The heavy sword on his shoulder gleamed coldly in the sunlight, while the large pulley compound bow in his hand was slowly drawn back, exuding a murderous aura. The metal gears turned with a soft "click-clack" sound, as if a sleeping beast was about to awaken.
The 1.2-ton pulling force was like nothing in his hands. The bowstring was quickly stretched to its limit, and the labor-saving pulley system began to play its role, locking the bow arm to store energy and keeping it in a state of readiness to be activated.
Chen Hao's gaze was as calm as ice as he stared at the mountain pass ahead. He slowly raised his iron bow, the beam of his flashlight illuminating the jagged rocks of the cave, but the deeper parts remained shrouded in darkness, sending a chill down one's spine and making one's palms sweat. Deep within the cave, jagged rocks lay scattered amidst howling winds.
A pair of scarlet eyes slowly opened, and emerging from the shadows was the ghost wolf beast. Its towering figure almost covered a corner of the mountain pass, its rough and mottled gray-blue fur exuding the unique stench of wild beasts.
It smelled the intruder and let out a low growl from deep in its throat.
Faced with the roar of the Ghost Wolf Beast, Zhang Xiaohou couldn't help but take a step back, his palms sweating profusely: "Brother Hao... maybe we should wait a bit..."
Mo Fan was equally nervous; this was his first time facing demons.
Chen Hao did not respond. His breathing suddenly slowed down. At that moment, the world seemed to be cut off from all sound, leaving only him, the bow, the arrow, and the blood-smelling beast in front of him.
It would be a lie to say he wasn't nervous facing a demon for the first time, but Chen Hao still subconsciously aimed his bow at the head of the Ghost Wolf Beast.
"Shua——!!!"
No unnecessary movements.
It was also a subconscious act of letting go.
There are no star trails, no magic.
There was only the sound of an arrow being plucked, as loud as thunder!
The arrow pierced the sky and, almost at the same moment the Dark Wolf Beast was about to leap up and let out its second roar, suddenly pierced its left eye!
"boom!!!"
The silver arrow pierced through and then exploded from the back of the Dark Wolf Beast's head, bringing with it a large cloud of scarlet blood mist!
The savage aura of the Dark Wolf Beast abruptly ceased, and its massive body collapsed to the ground as if its central nervous system had been shattered by a hammer blow!
Its limbs were still twitching, but that was just the end effect of residual nerves.
One arrow, instant kill!
Zhang Xiaohou was dumbfounded, his mouth agape, while Mo Fan immediately swore, "Holy crap...really?"
Chen Hao was also taken aback. He slowly put down the iron bow, took out his greatsword, and moved forward. His gaze lingered on the twitching corpse of the Ghost Wolf Beast for a long time until it stopped moving.
During this time, Mo Fan also fired a fireball, and Chen Hao didn't know if he had taken away the remnant soul of the Ghost Wolf Beast.
He took a few steps closer and delivered a few more blows, severing the head of the ghost wolf beast. Confirming its complete death, he frowned and muttered under his breath, "...died so quickly?"
I thought there would be a fierce battle, but I didn't expect these servant-level demons to be so easily defeated.
Chen Hao realized that he might have been underestimating his own abilities all along.
Soon, Zhan Kong, Tang Yue, and the others arrived quickly.
Zhan Kong kicked aside the rocks blocking his path, his gaze fixed on the enormous creature lying across the mountain pass. The Ghost Wolf Beast's corpse wasn't completely cold yet; its eyeball had been pierced by a sharp arrow, almost exploding into a bloody pulp, and its head had been chopped off and rolled to the side.
Tin Can stood in front of the corpse, holding a greatsword, and was looking down to examine the angle and location of the arrows.
"He did it all by himself?" Zhan Kong asked in a low voice.
Tang Yue nodded, her expression slightly complicated as she received the answer from Mo Fan: "Yes."
"What kind of magic did he use?" Deputy Instructor Pan Lijun couldn't help but ask.
“No.” Tang Yue shook her head. “He only shot one arrow from beginning to end.”
A moment of silence fell over everyone, even the military mages who had come along looked on incredulously.
