Chapter 126 I am Nian Nian's boyfriend
Chi Yige walked to Chi Ce's side and briefly explained the contents of Fu Yiyi's phone call.

Chi Ce clenched his fist, veins bulging: "The Chen family, indeed! It's time for a reshuffling of the major families in the port area! I'm going to investigate how many dirty deeds they've been hiding!"

"The money has already been transferred, but you must guarantee her safety!"

Chi Yige gritted his teeth, "Otherwise, I'll find you no matter where you are!"

"Try it if you dare."

Chen Si sneered, "The time has been moved up. If there's no money in the account before 5 a.m., you'll have to bear the consequences."

Chen Si chuckled and hung up the phone.

Chi Yige's gaze was sharp as a knife, sweeping over the trembling villagers.

As soon as he finished speaking, he opened the car door, and the engine roared as he drove into the depths of the night.

Chi Yige took the cable and plugged his phone in to charge, then, remembering something, made another call.

The phone rang for a long time before it was answered.

"Young Master Chi, what brings you calling so late?"

The phone rang with the jarring sounds of clinking glasses and laughter. Chi Yige gripped his phone tightly and sneered, "Jiang Shu, what exactly did you and Chen Si make a deal?"

There was an instant silence on the other end, followed by intermittent swallowing sounds: "I...I don't know what you're talking about."

"Call Chen Si now!" Chi Yige's voice was laced with threat and anger. "She kidnapped Niannian. Whatever your deal was, Chen Si is playing you."

“Impossible, today is her birthday party.” Jiang Shu’s voice trembled violently.

"If anything happens to Nian Nian, I won't let you off the hook."

After saying that, Chi Yige hung up the phone.

It was already past 3 a.m. when Duan Jiayan called. He had sent people to search the north area one by one, but they still hadn't found anything.

So only the west side is missing, but there's still no news from Li Mingyi's side.

Half an hour later, Shen Yu finally made a video call.

"Yige, that unfamiliar phone call is from the West District."

The signal coverage in the mountainous western area is poor, so positioning can only pinpoint a general area.

Shen Yu's voice came through the phone, "I'm on my way there, I'll meet up with you when I get there."

Chi Yige answered while holding his phone, then rubbed his sore eyes after hanging up.

Chi Yige stared out the car window. The night was as thick as ink, with only a dozen or so cars following behind him at a distance in the rearview mirror.

Niannian knows Taekwondo, and she's so insightful and intelligent; she'll definitely be thinking of a solution.
He clenched his fist and muttered, "Wait for me."

Wen Jinian struggled to open her eyes while feeling dizzy, her back soaked in cold sweat.

She gasped as her fingertips touched the sticky blood on her forehead.

When I tried to get up, a sharp pain shot through my ankle.

I twisted my ankle when I fell off the cliff.

Darkness enveloped her; her only flashlight was long gone. The rope had been cut by the man outside.

Thanks to two old trees with sprawling branches that cushioned her fall into the dense forest, she escaped being smashed to pieces.

Darkness engulfed Wen Jinian like a tide, and cold sweat mixed with blood slid down her forehead.

She fumbled for her phone, her hands trembling, and repeatedly pressed the power button, but the screen remained completely black.

The suffocating feeling brought on by claustrophobia surged up, and the memories of the basement intertwined with the pain of the present moment, almost overwhelming her.

"I want to live," she gasped, her nails digging deep into her palms.

She fumbled for two tree branches, used her last bit of strength to tie them to both sides of her sprained ankle, and then tore open the hem of her dress, securing it tightly with the fabric.

Seeing vehicles approaching from the foot of the mountain, Li Mingyi hurriedly walked down the mountain.

Shen Yu got out of the car with his laptop in hand. "It's probably in an area on this mountain."

Just as Shen Yu finished speaking, Li Mingyi rushed down and said, "Young Master, there's a house on the mountaintop with bloodstains on it."

When they reached the top of the mountain, they shone their flashlights on the house and found that the lights had been broken and bloodstains were clearly visible on the ground, but there were not many signs of a struggle.

Li Mingyi took a few steps forward and said, "There's a rope hanging down here. I guess Miss Wen might have fallen from here."

Chi Yige forced himself to remain calm, took a flashlight, walked to the window, and shone it down.

In front of me was the sea, and beside me was a steep, dense forest, layer upon layer, stretching as far as the eye could see.

Li Mingyi nodded, shone his flashlight, and turned to walk out.

As soon as he stepped out of the house, he saw another group of people climbing to the top of the mountain with flashlights.

"You're really something, Jiang Shu!"

Secretary Jiang was punched twice in a row, his face was turned to the side and blood spilled from the corner of his mouth.

He slowly raised his hand to wipe it, and said angrily, "What right do you have to hit me?"

After saying that, Jiang Shu stepped forward and threw a punch back at Chi Yige.

"I am Nian Nian's boyfriend!"

"Hmph, does Niannian even acknowledge you as her boyfriend? My relationship with her has lasted for years, while you've only been dating her for a little over six months!"

Jiang Shu finally blurted out what he had been holding in his heart.

"So, you already knew about my relationship with Niannian."

"Yes, I hate myself for not telling Niannian how I felt sooner. And who do you think you are?"

Chi Yige sneered, "Don't you think your dirty deal with Chen Si is despicable? If Niannian knew you had such thoughts, would she still let you get close to her?"

Jiang Shu froze, clenching his fists and radiating anger. The two were on the verge of a fight.

Chi Yige had already turned around. "I'm not in the mood to fight you. I'll settle the score with you after I find Niannian!"

After saying that, he took the flashlight and walked down the path.
