Chapter 115 Make it up to me tonight

Chapter 115 Make it up to me tonight

Fu Yiyi gently rested her head on Duan Jiaxu's shoulder, her eyes filled with sweetness.

"I brought my Xuxu out for some fresh air," she explained with a smile.

Wen Jinian nodded, then turned to look at the person behind Fu Yiyi, whose gaze was fixed on her.

Still wearing a mask, not minding the heat.

"And you lot? Are you here to relax too?"

“Wen, we’ve been exploited by some capitalist for too long, so we’re out here to get some fresh air,” Shen Yu said in advance.

Unable to see his expression clearly, Wen Jinnian felt inexplicably uneasy.

Jiang Shu stiffened slightly, composed herself, lowered her eyes, and when she looked up again, her gentle smile had returned.

"Young Master Chi, what a coincidence! We were planning to have barbecue tonight and then go to the hotel up ahead to get a private room, drink and play games together. Want to join us?"

"Then I'll have to trouble Young Master Jiang." Chi Yige nodded slightly in response.

Wen Jinian felt a headache coming on looking at this scene.

Finally, Jiang Shu suggested that they play cards, and led Duan Jiayan, Shen Yu, and Chi Yige to sit under the parasol.

Fu Yiyi clung to Duan Jiaxu and sat down in her tent to play King of Glory.

Fu Yiyi's teasing voice came from inside the tent: "Duan Jiaxu, how can you be so bad? I put you in the top lane, and the bottom lane collapsed immediately; when I put you in the mid lane, no one was taking care of the top lane. The jungler got lost and came to complain to me."

Look at them! First blood in three minutes, dozens of last hits in seven minutes, and the first tower down in eight minutes!

Wen Jinian finally finished drawing all the remaining drafts. Turning her head, she saw Fu Yiyi and Duan Jiaxu bickering while intensely working on their phones, their fingers flying across the screen.

She closed her notebook, stretched, and her gaze naturally fell on the parasol not far away.

Shen Yu and Duan Jiayan focused on playing their cards, their movements swift and disciplined; Jiang Shu frowned slightly, as if pondering the game.

Chi Yige was the most relaxed, leaning back in his chair and casually tossing out cards, his languid posture a stark contrast to those around him.

She smiled slightly, grabbed a few bottles of mineral water, and walked over.

After everyone thanked her, Wen Jinnian handed the last bottle of water to Chi Yige. He didn't even look up, staring at the cards in his hand, and said casually, "Wen, could you help me unscrew the cap?"

These words stunned everyone around them.

Chi Yige calmly added, "I'm thinking about the game."

Wen Jinnian didn't say much, but silently unscrewed the bottle cap and handed it over.

Chi Yige leaned forward, took a sip from her hand, and tilted his head back to drink.

Seeing this, Wen Jinnian was both annoyed and amused. Jiang Shu caught a glimpse of this scene out of the corner of his eye, his knuckles turning white as he gripped the cards, but he calmly said, "Young Master Chi, my sister is not a servant."

Chi Yige chuckled casually: "I didn't treat her like a servant either."

Wen Jinnian keenly sensed the tension in the air and quickly tried to smooth things over: "Helping others comes with a service fee!"

Chi Yige raised an eyebrow at her: "Name your price?"

Shen Yu coughed lightly and threw out a pair of two: "Anyone want them? If not, I'll win!"

Finally, everyone's attention turned to the table.

Duan Jiayan followed up, "Shen Yu, are you cheating?"

"I only have one card left."

Jiang Shu shook his head, indicating he couldn't afford it, but Chi Yige dropped a bombshell, making Shen Yu's eyes widen: "Can't you go easy on me? I've lost several rounds in a row!"

The noise at the card table temporarily eased the tense atmosphere.

When Wen Jin and Chen Si returned, they were holding freshly picked wildflowers and casually stuck them into a cup.

When she looked up, she saw a group of people sitting around playing cards, and there were a few more faces around, which made her look surprised.

Wen Jin looked at Wen Jinnian and greeted her with a smile, "Hello everyone." The group called out "Auntie" in unison, and Wen Jin smiled and gestured for them to continue.

Chen Siyu took a few steps closer, her gaze first sweeping over Jiang Shu, and finally stopping on Chi Yige: "Is this the young master of Chijiang Group?"

Chi Yige didn't even look up, his eyes fixed intently on the card game.

Shen Yu responded, "You have good taste."

Chen Si looked slightly embarrassed; the rumors were indeed true.

This port district prince is handsome and exudes a powerful aura of authority; even sitting quietly, he commands respect.

As dusk fell, the group's employees who had gone out for sightseeing and exercise gradually returned.

Several chefs skillfully set up the barbecue grill, and considering the newcomers, they also cooked a few extra hot dishes. Jiang Shu took out his treasured red wine.

Everyone worked together, with some setting the table, putting the wildflowers they had picked into vases, and then covering the table with a tablecloth for decoration.

As dusk falls, swaying flowers, exquisite tableware, and the rising smoke create a romantic and warm atmosphere.

Amidst laughter and conversation, the group raised their glasses in invitation, with Fu Yiyi speaking first: "To the future!"

Wen Jin's eyes crinkled with laughter, and a blush rose to her cheeks: "Then I'll toast Mei Mei!"

Chen Si looked around at everyone and raised an eyebrow: "Let's not talk about KPIs today!"

Amidst the laughter, Shen Yu winked slyly: "A toast to the boss's raise tomorrow!"

The group all turned to look at Chi Yige, their eyes smiling, and said in unison, "Respect, Boss."

The last syllable of the note lingered, sounding both teasing and expectant, while the noise inside the tent blended together.

Jiang Shu looked at Wen Jinnian with a gentle smile and said in a mild tone, "Respect your original intention."

Wen Jinnian looked at him, startled, feeling that there was something more to his words. Fu Yiyi, who was next to her, nudged her, signaling her to speak quickly.

She hesitated for a moment before speaking, "A toast to the friendship we shared on this journey."

In the end, only Chi Yige didn't speak. Everyone clinked glasses, and no one dared to force him to say it.

---

After dinner, everyone took a walk back to the hotel, which was only a few minutes away. The tents were packed up by staff.

Wen Jinian received a call from the comic book editor and fell to the back of the line. Just as she reached a shady spot, a hand suddenly grabbed her waist and pulled her into a nearby grove of trees.

Smelling the familiar woody and fruity scent, she chuckled without looking up, "Dr. Chi, aren't you afraid I'll knock you out again?"

Chi Yige's muffled voice came from above: "I know you're good at Taekwondo, but if I knock you out again, you'll have to carry me to the hospital."

"Why are you waiting here for me?" Wen Jinian looked at him.

"You barely said a word to me all day."

Wen Jinian found it amusing, raised an eyebrow, and lightly tapped his chest a few times with her fingertip. "My aunt and my brother are both here. Are we going to announce our relationship in front of everyone?"

He leaned closer, his warm breath brushing against her ear, "I just want to hug you."

Looking at the handsome profile of the person under the tree who was sulking, Wen Jinnian couldn't help but tiptoe and give him a light peck on the lips.

Chi Yige was not about to let her go. His hand on her waist tightened suddenly, and as she leaned back, he pressed down on her, turning the tables and taking the initiative.

When their lips touched, a faint aroma of red wine spread across their tongues. Wen Jinnian was so surprised that her eyes widened. Just as she was about to push him away, the man released her lips first and then gently bit her earlobe.

"This is the interest."

He whispered close to her ear, his voice low and husky with a hint of laughter, alluring in the quiet night, "You have to make it up to me tonight, hmm?"

Wen Jinnian felt a tickle on her neck from his hot breath, and a slight tremor ran down her spine. She looked up and met his eyes, which were full of smiles.
