Fairy Tail: You call this Celestial Magic?!

Chapter 276 Such a stark contrast

Chapter 276 Such a stark contrast (Please subscribe!)
The royal palace of the Kingdom of Edolas looks quite strange, and its architectural style is completely different from that of the world of "Eslandon".

This entire capital city is the complete opposite of the "City of a Hundred Flowers," Crocus. It has a dark style and looks pitch black from the sky. You might mistake it for a "Demon King's Castle."

But actually, the buildings inside this capital city are quite normal, except for a large palace area in the core which is rather special.

Standing outside the palace, Moen pondered his next course of action.

In fact, after contacting Fairy Tail in Edolas over the past few days, Moen has discovered a key point: the magic in the Edolas world is indeed quite different from that in Eslandon.

Of course, this may also be the reason why folk magic is banned, so the magic that Moen has seen so far is quite rubbish.

Magic in the world of Edolas is a true tool, because the Edolas people themselves cannot use magic and do not possess magical power. They can only rely on a combination of "magic crystals" and "tools" to create magical tools for use.

An individual's strength depends entirely on the power of their magical items.

In today's Edolas, magic is completely banned, so the sale of magical items is no longer permitted. However, the black market still exists, and if you really want to buy something, you can do so with connections.

However, what you can buy on these black markets are just trendy little junk items, fine to play with, but don't even think about fighting against the Kingdom's army.

Moen glanced at the equipment worn by these royal soldiers, which could be considered magical items. Although they were quite ordinary, they were more than enough to deal with the cheap magical items circulating among the common people.

If the "Aislandians" came to this world without being able to use magic, they probably wouldn't even be able to deal with these royal armies.

In any case, Moen felt that the trip was worthwhile, as he had gained some understanding of the general situation of this world.

It's easy to imagine that Erza Knightworth's "Magic War Squad" must have had considerable combat power.

After all, that was an army composed of all the magical items in the world, and just thinking about it made Moen realize that it was not to be underestimated.

If all the powerful mages from the "Western Continent," "Northern Continent," and "Ishgar" were gathered together, their strength would be terrifying to even imagine.

Moreover, above this "Kingdom of Edolas" lies the "Kingdom of the Transcendent," a ruler of an even higher order.

The "Transcendents," the race of Harpies and Charuru, are known as "Angels" in the world of Edolas. Their queen is a "God" who rules the kingdom of Extania, which floats above the capital and above the heads of all Edolas people.

"It's hard to tell how strong this transcendent race is from Harpy and Charlu. Maybe we can go up to that island and take a look."

Moen raised his head and looked up at the sky, searching for the enormous floating island.

Even the king of the "Kingdom of Edolas" has to obey the orders of that "god" and is just a dog of the "Transcendent." From this perspective, the "god" of the "Transcendent" should be the final boss.

"Would such an ambitious king willingly become someone else's dog?"

Looking at the towering spires in the palace, Moen was filled with doubt.

Everything this "King of Edolas" has done shows that he is very ambitious and desperately wants to concentrate all power in his own hands, turning magic into a tool for him to control power. He is a very controlling and obviously dictatorial monarch.

Would an ambitious man who aspires to unify the world and become the "King of Mankind" truly be willing to be the "dog" of another race?

"But that has nothing to do with us."

Moen smiled. Perhaps this "King of Edolas" was using the power of "Anima" to rebel against the rule of the "Beyond," but so what? The people of "Aislandon" had no obligation to sacrifice for them.

Moen came representing "Aceland," so he naturally stands on the side of the people of "Aceland." Even though he is a transmigrator, his home is now "Fairy Tail," and this "Anima" will harm his home and his family.

If, after overthrowing the "King of Edolas," Mystogan wants their help to overthrow the rule of the "Beyond," then Moen would be happy to help, because Mystogan is also part of the "Fairy Tail" family.

Although Mystogan is an Edolasian and the son of the King of Edolas, everything he has done has been recognized, and this identity only makes his actions more valuable.

No member of Fairy Tail would question Mystogan's contributions; he will always be a part of this family.

"Buzz!"

With magic surging, Moen donned the "Aries Gold Cloth" and wore the "Pope's Mask." He activated "Instant Teleportation" and crossed the palace walls, entering the vast royal palace area.

Fortunately, the palace walls weren't very thick, and Moen's "teleportation" covered the required distance.

The crows soaring in the sky acted as Moen's eyes, guiding him. He successfully landed in a deserted garden and infiltrated the palace.

"That's a really big area."

Moen sighed. This palace was much larger than the "Lantern Palace" of the Kingdom of Fiore, Melucrias. The most outrageous thing was that Moen actually saw an amusement park within the palace area. It was simply outrageous!

"This king still has a childlike heart."

Moen muttered to himself, "I'll have to ask Mistgang when I get back. Does that guy have some kind of spoiled younger sibling?"

Using "teleportation," Moen moved through various parts of the palace, avoiding the crowds. However, he did not enter the buildings, but only confirmed the general layout of the palace and the function of each area, as it would be too dangerous to directly enter the individual palaces.

This trip was only to gather intelligence. Moen tried his best to avoid conflicts with people and to avoid revealing his identity and attracting the enemy's attention. After all, when they could organize a coalition army depended on the progress of Mystergan's research.

"Captain Moen, Captain Erza has failed several times already, and so far, she still hasn't been able to completely destroy Fairy Tail. Perhaps you could lend her a hand?"

As Moen arrived outside a palace, his attention was drawn to a conversation, or more specifically, to the name.

While it's possible that someone might share the same name as Moen, the only person in this palace addressed as "Captain" could be Captain Moen of the "Magic War Squad." Moen listened for a moment; the voice was quite old and sinister, sounding like someone who wasn't a good person.

"Ha, Bairo, are you trying to sow discord between me and Erza? How audacious of you."

A young voice answered, its tone playful.

"How could that be? I was just making a suggestion."

The aged voice continued speaking, with a hint of amusement, showing no anger whatsoever at the young man's disrespect.

"Don't give any more suggestions in the future."

The young man's voice turned cold, and he seemed somewhat angry.

The two voices grew closer and closer as they gradually left the palace. This time, Moen didn't leave. Instead, he put away his "Aries Gold Cloth" with all the special effects on. He wanted to see "Captain Moen." He couldn't help it; this kind of curiosity was really hard to control.

Soon, two figures, one tall and one short, emerged.

The shorter one, whose voice matched his appearance quite well, was a sinister old man who looked like a ghost and didn't seem like a good person at all.

The taller one did indeed make Moen momentarily dazed, because that guy was almost exactly like him. The only difference was probably in his hairstyle. This "Captain Moen" had a spiky hairstyle and looked very roguish.

Oh right, besides that, this "Captain Moen" also has a bunch of tattoos, all kinds of weird demon and beast tattoos. His style is quite different from Moen's.

Moen frowned. To be honest, although he knew from the beginning that this guy would be very different from him, the difference was still a bit beyond his expectations.

Although the personalities of the members of "Fairy Tail" in this world have changed a lot, Moen can say with certainty that their core remains the same, and they are still good people.

The biggest difference is probably between Moen and Erza, because neither of them joined "Fairy Tail".

Is that the reason?
Moen thought to himself that, currently, the only thing he and Erza lacked compared to their companions in this world was their identity as members of "Fairy Tail," which was why the contrast was so great.

Moen thought it was very likely, after all, Fairy Tail is the "protagonist", and Moen and Erza in this world were unable to join Fairy Tail, so they became villains.

During Moen's brainstorming session, the "Captain Moen" and the short old man separated. The short old man named Bairo looked like a high-ranking official, and everyone around him treated him with utmost respect.

Of course, the palace guards looked at "Captain Moen" with awe.

Moen stared at the "Captain Moen," preparing to follow him to see if he could catch up. This "Captain Moen" was clearly about to leave the palace.

Sure enough, Captain Moen strode out of the palace with an air of nonchalance. He was very different from Moen; they were definitely not the same person. A person's aura really does influence their appearance.

If Moen is the "perfect child" type, then this "Captain Moen" is a "good-for-nothing street urchin."

Moen never imagined that he could be so disliked.
"Buzz!"

Moen used "teleportation" to keep an eye on "Captain Moen" and followed him out of Edolas's palace.

Throughout the journey, Moen had been observing, particularly "Captain Moen's" weapon, mainly because he couldn't find it anywhere.

The people of Edolas rely on magical items to fight, but Moen didn't see any magical items on this "Captain Moen." However, this guy must also be using magical items to fight, because Moen also didn't detect any magic power on him.

The people of the world of "Edras" do not possess magic, which is a huge difference from the world of "Eslandon".

In the world of "Aislandon", using magical items also requires relying on one's own magical power; this is what makes a "possession-type mage".

People in the world of "Edras" who rely entirely on magical items are not even called mages, because they cannot even mobilize the magic power within their bodies, so naturally they cannot be called mages.

You can't call someone a "holding-type mage" just because they can use a desk lamp powered by a magic crystal, right?

That's why when Mystogan joined Fairy Tail, Moen remarked that Mystogan was special in Fairy Tail. It wasn't because he was an otherworldly traveler, which isn't special in Fairy Tail, but because he wasn't strictly speaking a mage.

"It should be a very small magical item."

Moen couldn't tell where the weapon was from the outside of his clothing. He thought that the magical artifact used by this "Captain Moen" was probably very small. He was quite curious about what kind of ability this magical artifact had.
The members of Fairy Tail in this world have never faced Captain Moen and have been constantly hunted down by the Fairy Hunter Erza.

Therefore, they were not very familiar with this famous "magic assassin," only knowing that he was ruthless and that the mage guilds he destroyed usually suffered terrible deaths.

"Hopefully it will bring me some fun."

Moen followed this "Captain Moen" out of the palace. He overturned his previous plans, throwing aside things like "don't alert the enemy" and "try not to make a move."

In Moen's eyes, the "Captain Moen" in front of him was simply a walking "Gemini Gold Cloth". How could he let it continue to wander around and not just take it down?

Moen Darkning strolled through the streets of Edolas, heading towards his luxurious residence not far from the palace. His expression was serious; he hadn't been happy lately because his magic had encountered some "minor problems."

'What's going on? Lately, when I try to summon stellar magic, sometimes I don't get a response. Could it be that the magic of the stars is about to run out? This is not good news.'
Moen Darkning was preoccupied. He touched the "star stone" hidden in his inner breast pocket. If the magic of the stars were also exhausted, his magical power would plummet.

'Is it in that spot? It really is a small thing.'
Captain Moen's subtle movements and the fleeting magical fluctuations at his chest alerted Moen. Just as he had guessed, the guy's magical artifact was an inconspicuous little thing, hidden in his chest.
