Chapter 638 Mangog's Battle Against Asgard

Chapter 638 Mangog's Battle Against Asgard

Mangog is a condensation of resentment from a civilization that Odin has forgotten.

Now, with the help of the three Fates and Malekith's preparations, he escaped from his imprisonment and, carrying hundreds of thousands of years of anger and resentment, launched an attack on Asgard.

The first to rush forward were ordinary Asgardian soldiers, but they were no match for Mangog; they were sent flying in a single exchange.

Next was Heimdall, who guarded the Rainbow Bridge. This valiant warrior dodged Mangog's attack thanks to his keen observation skills.

Then he was kicked away.

At the same time, Mangog noticed Odin's appearance, so he roared and leaped dozens of kilometers towards Odin. Odin didn't tolerate him and directly used the Eternal Spear to take Mangog away. The huge shockwave carved a huge chasm on the surface of Asgard.

Odin raised his hand and sheathed the Spear of Eternity. Loki, standing to the side, asked somewhat nervously, "Then what should I do?"

“Shatter our destiny, son, whatever you do.”

As Odin spoke, he leaped down from the temple and instantly flew to Mangog. He struck Mangog down with a single spear thrust, and then pointed the tip of the eternal spear Gungnir at Mangog's face, unleashing a burst of intense light.

The energy released did not vaporize the monster's head as many Asgardians had expected. Mangog's head was slammed into the ground under the constant impact, but this did not mean his defeat. During Odin's continuous output, Mangog's leg was grabbed by his three-fingered hand and then violently thrown aside.

Mangog rose to his feet. He had already spotted his target. As the golden-armored Father of the Gods stood up, he roared and charged toward him.

"Odin!"

"I'm here, you beast!"

Odin hurled Mangog away with a spear, but Mangog abruptly changed direction mid-air and crashed down from the sky. Odin dodged and used magic to imprison Mangog, then attempted to banish it from Asgard with a spell.

Mangog may return to Asgard in a few days, but it doesn't matter, as long as it's not now.

As Odin was thinking this, he saw Mangog forcefully tear off the branches of the World Tree. Before the Spear of Eternity could touch him, Mangog grabbed Odin's head and slammed him to the ground, then punched him in the head.

Suddenly, a scorching beam of light struck Mangog, sending him flying. Odin got up from the ground and looked at the people who had come to his aid. It was the Destroyer Armor, which had been remotely controlled to arrive here.

Odin's first thought was Loki, after all, Loki had experience and indeed had a reason to do so, although it was somewhat pointless. Just as he was about to speak, he heard his wife Frigga's voice: "What's wrong? Do you need help?"

"I'm not old enough to need my wife to fight for me."

Odin stood up with a smile. Indeed, Mangog was powerful, but hadn't harmed him yet. Of course, he didn't mind his wife helping. Meanwhile, the Mangog, knocked down in the distance, charged at him again. Frigga seemed to notice something and couldn't help but ask her husband, "Has that monster gotten stronger?"

“Yes.” Odin destroyed a civilization, and the hatred of that civilization gave birth to Mangog. Mangog wreaked havoc in Asgard, killing countless husbands, wives, children, and parents, which in turn brought a great deal of hatred, and hatred nourished Mangog.

As long as Asgard harbors hatred for the monsters that destroyed their civilization, Mangog will continue to grow; he is becoming increasingly enormous and rapid.

Mangog rushed in front of the two men, but the Destroyer grabbed his fists with both hands. Odin struck Mangog's knee with his spear, knocking him to the ground. Then, Odin and the Destroyer attacked Mangog from both sides, releasing energy to attack him simultaneously.

Even at this point, Odin still had time to ask Frigga, "Where did you find the Destroyer? I don't remember giving you the key."

“Loki took me there. He wanted me to help you, after all… if he were to control the Destroyer, it might cause some trouble.”

The energy emitted by the two simultaneously caused Mangog to wail incessantly, but Odin's brow furrowed deeper and deeper. Mangog hated Odin and resented himself for not having enough power to defeat him. If this continued, he would only grow stronger, perhaps even to a degree that Odin could not predict.

Moreover, even with Odin and the Destroyer attacking from both sides, this thing didn't even break a scratch, proving it's definitely not a monster that can be dealt with by force.

“Help me lock him up, Frigga, I will cast a spell to banish him from Asgard.”

As Odin spoke, he increased the release of his divine power so that the Destroyer could withdraw his strength and bind Mangog. However, Mangog, whose hands were held, did not give up struggling. He actually bit the Destroyer's left arm.

Then, something astonishing happened: the Destroyer armor he created to fight the Celestials was completely unharmed by Thor's all-out attack.

It was bitten to pieces by Mangog.

Mangog, who had bitten off one of the Destroyer's arms, broke free of his restraints and punched the Destroyer back. Frigga hurriedly controlled the Destroyer to continue forward, trying to control Odin. However, at the most critical moment of the battle, the Destroyer, which had lost an arm, suddenly lost its power.

Odin, shocked and panicked, looked towards his palace with his raven. He had no idea what had happened to his wife or what had transpired.

Then he saw it, there, his adopted son, Loki, stabbing his own mother in the back with his dagger, the one who was controlling the Destroyer.

Loki felt the blood flowing from his mother's body, and he knew that his dagger was poisoned, a poison that would almost certainly kill him.

He looked at his mother's pained and shocked eyes as she turned around, shook his head indifferently, and gave a somewhat helpless smile.

“I’m sorry, Mom. I have to do this.”

The Destroyer, which had been holding Mangog back, fell. In that instant, Odin, who had roared "No!", was grabbed by the head by Mangog and slammed to the ground. The monster then unleashed all its fury upon the King of the Gods on the ground.

"Asgard will be destroyed here today!"

Two more tonight... I'll try my best, I feel like I don't have much energy in winter.
Mangog biting the Destroyer is part of the comic book storyline, so his combat power is not an issue.
