Chapter 625 The Avengers in Action
"You should use your brain before you act! And if your brain has already been tampered with beforehand, then at least use it properly after the battle!"

This was the first time the entire Avengers had seen Captain America so enraged. At this moment, Captain America was not at all like the symbol of the American spirit that people hoped for; instead, he was like the spiky instructor from Full Metal Jacket, unleashing a barrage of attacks on Namor for several minutes straight.

What's even more commendable is that he didn't utter a single swear word.

Namor and Thor fought for a while, and Thor knocked Namor unconscious and took him back to Avengers Tower. Strange, who arrived later, helped to remove the Enchantress's spell on Namor, which also proved the Captain's guess.

But what happened after that? Namor was still being stubborn, insisting that he could have easily defeated his opponent, even after Peter said that the Enchantress had already prepared the executioner as a henchman for Namor, and that Roxon Energy also had its own trump cards. Namor was still being stubborn.

The result of being stubborn was that the captain gave him a severe scolding.

Both pantheons have laid out very powerful magical shields here to interfere with the spying of others."

"If that place has always been protected, how did Loki and Amora know what was inside?"

After thinking about Thor's question for a moment, Peter gave his answer: "It's more likely that Loki and Amora have always known what it is and have been trying to find it. When they discovered the protection here, they assumed that it was here."

Thor nodded after listening. Although they still didn't know what Loki and his men had discovered, they had found evidence of the Enchantress's presence. Whether it was Namor being controlled or Peter personally making contact and fighting with them, it proved that Loki's men were nearby.

Peter glanced at Namor with a hint of surprise, suspecting that the guy had forgotten about the Winter's Chest, but he didn't say anything. Regarding the Winter's Chest, everyone agreed that as long as the Iceman intervened, everything would be fine; it wasn't a problem at all. "Alright, but first we need to know what this thing is."

Peter temporarily set aside the question and projected the images of the underwater structure detected by the probe onto the Avengers' large screen: "It looks like a temple."

“Of course this is a temple, can’t you tell? This is the temple of Poseidon. Before Atlantis fell into slumber, he was the chief god of Atlantis—and still is, but in addition to the original respect, there is now more fear.”

Namor frowned, thinking for a moment, and finally understood what Peter was trying to say: "You mean that the Norse witch is looking for something here?"

"That's right, do you know what's special about this place?"

The unusual thing… Namor frowned, then thought carefully, and finally answered uncertainly: “Around the year 11, the local city lord reported to me that an old man was carrying a package and said he wanted to offer it to Poseidon. But we were not allowed to inspect the offerings, so he was stopped and then reported the news to me.”

The Atlanteans were more technologically and culturally advanced than Earth, roughly on par with Wakanda. Their attitude towards the gods was very pragmatic; or rather, although they were subjects of the Olympian pantheon, and every Atlantean city had a temple to Poseidon, most people didn't really care about Poseidon.

Just as Poseidon didn't care much about them, everyone lived in peace. In fact, the worship and belief in Poseidon in modern Atlantis was more like a traditional culture than a religion.

So Namor wasn't really that fond of Poseidon.
