Chapter 539 Ghost Rider
Johnny Blazer, a poor man, a guy tormented by a damn devil.

Johnny's father was the famous motorcycle stuntman Barton Blazer. During a motorcycle stunt that went through a ring of fire, Johnny witnessed his father's head being set on fire and burned into a skull.

He will never forget this scene.

He was then adopted by his father’s colleague, Craig Simpson. His mother remarried and left with her younger brother and sister. His adoptive father treated him well, and Johnny felt he had come to terms with his father’s death. He inherited his father’s and adoptive father’s business and became a motorcycle stuntman. He still loved performing the fire stunt the most and never failed.

As he grew older, his relationship with his adoptive father's daughter, Roxanne, grew closer. But one day, everything changed when his adoptive father, Barton, was diagnosed with lung cancer. It was at this time that a devil approached Johnny, claiming that if Johnny sold his soul to him and became his knight, he could cure his adoptive father's cancer.

Johnny agreed to the deal for the sake of his lover and adoptive father, and his adoptive father's cancer was cured—then 22 days later, during a performance, his adoptive father was set on fire during a stunt show, just like his biological father, with his head burning.

The devil promised to cure his adoptive father's cancer, but never promised that his adoptive father could continue to live; this was the devil's deal. Johnny was thus forced to become the Ghost Rider.

“I guarantee that the moment you saw me, your past flashed through your mind, as if you had already lived your entire life.” Mephisto smiled as he leaned back against the bar, sipping his ordinary whiskey. Johnny, on the other hand, downed his drink in one gulp and turned to Mephisto with a helpless look: “How did you get in?”

Johnny knew that Mephisto couldn't enter reality; his power in reality was extremely weak. He could only transmit his consciousness to other humans through mental control. Otherwise, he wouldn't have created Ghost Rider to deal with his son. But now, he was here, and Johnny was more terrified than surprised.

Fear of what this monster might do.

"Well, you know there are many heroes in this world, right? They opened a door to save the world, and I have many acquaintances who planned to come in before the door closed. Luckily, I was the one who came in."

Johnny sighed helplessly. No matter which fool it was, bringing in a world-destroying demon in the name of saving the world was no good idea. But to Johnny's surprise, Mephisto did not hold him accountable for his previous slacking off or even betrayal. Instead, he was watching TV, which was broadcasting about an unprecedented and terrifying enemy: the world's ruler, Conqueror Kang, was mobilizing his army.

Another great conquest, but it has nothing to do with Johnny Blazer.

“Some people are really boring, aren’t they? Conquer, conquer, and conquer some more, as if they have nothing else to do.”

Mephisto shook his head helplessly, sighed, and then explained his purpose: "Don't be nervous, Johnny, I'm not here to blame you for your previous work. In fact, I intend to wipe the slate clean, as long as you can do one thing."

"No need to discuss."

“Really? I thought you would be happy to save the world.” Mephisto offered his advice: “Your eyes, the Eyes of Judgment that judge evil, can see into the depths of one’s own soul. Similarly, they can awaken the essence of people’s souls, even if it is a false reality. Your world was not originally like this. It was a wonderful era full of heroes, but unfortunately, it was tampered with.”

"Don't you want to restore it to its original state?" As Mephisto put down his glass, a flood of memories rushed into Johnny's mind. The world before Connors modified reality rushed into Johnny's mind all at once. He howled in pain, lost his balance and fell to the ground. With the help of those around him, he managed to stand up. He looked around, but Mephisto was nowhere to be seen.

Mephisto needs Ghost Rider to awaken the heroes and restore the world to its original state so that he can forgive Johnny's past rebellion and the two sides can resume their deal.

But the question is, why? What benefit would Mephisto gain?
"Sorry, I'm not feeling well."

After apologizing to the passersby, Johnny left. He got on his motorcycle, turned on his phone, and looked at a location that had inexplicably appeared on his screen. It was a secret military base in Arizona called "Cube." Johnny knew practically nothing else about it.

Oh, and he also knows something else: he needs to go to that place to wake up a scientist named Bruce Banner, who is the Hulk in the normal timeline.

"Oh God, please have mercy on me."

Taking a deep breath, Johnny Blazer reluctantly chose to hit the road.

A short while later, Peter and Strange arrived at the tavern's outskirts.

“Mephisto’s traces are here; he’s been here.”

Strange understood as soon as he entered: "There is the aura of a vengeful spirit around us, and it's not just any vengeful spirit. Mephisto has come to this place to find his Ghost Rider."

Ghost Rider, that must be the original Johnny Blaze? Peter wasn't quite sure, but Strange didn't stop, because on the bar, someone had left a note, which was just lying there under a glass, untouched, as if protected by something.

After casting a protective spell on himself and Peter, Strange picked up the note, frowned, and handed it to Peter. Peter took the note, completely bewildered. What did this mean? Mephisto gave it to me?
The answer is not quite that, but it's not far off.

The note contained only a simple set of Earth's latitude and longitude coordinates. Peter couldn't be sure what was in that place, but a glance at the coordinates was enough to deduce that it was in Arizona, most likely in the desert.

What's in the Arizona desert?
Peter was completely baffled for a moment, then he seemed to suddenly remember something.

“It’s Hulk.” He looked at Strange with certainty: “Mephisto is looking for Hulk.”
