Chapter 484 Nimrod's Paradox
Chapter 484 Nimrod's Paradox
When Tony woke up, Jarvis immediately reported the news about Ultron's actions. Tony was so frightened that he rolled off the sofa. The noise woke up Pym, who was severely sleep-deprived. But when Pym learned what Ultron was doing, he was also terrified and immediately began to check Ultron's systems.
The final conclusion was: Ultron is safe for the time being.
"The two underlying core codes remain unchanged, prohibiting lethal force and assisting the Avengers. Ultron poses no threat at present."
Pym breathed a sigh of relief after completing the inspection, then handed Tony the tablet: "The good news is that Ultron is indeed modifying its programming and is beginning to adapt it to Nimrod's programming."
"Wait, what you mean is, while he poses no threat to humans right now, he might be able to harm AI." Tony seemed to realize something and quickly said to Hank, "Explain this to him immediately, right now, and make sure he doesn't target Jarvis."
Pym opened his mouth, but ultimately agreed that what he said made sense. He quickly began writing the program, and then the two started discussing what weakness Ultron had discovered in Nimrod. After carefully checking that Ultron had no problems, they quickly activated it and waited for its analysis.
The result was an answer that left them speechless.
Nimrod suffers from a fundamental logical flaw: it was created to prevent humans from being replaced by mutant populations, and therefore controls mutants. However, the program itself did not set an ultimate goal for this action.
"In other words, for Nimrod to function, it needs mutants." Tony rolled his eyes, understanding Ultron's meaning: "So even if Nimrod massacres humans, implements racial segregation, and even sets up concentration camps to prohibit reproduction, it will not completely eliminate mutants, because its programmers did not consider what would happen after mutants become extinct."
Tony then complained, "But what's the point? We can't possibly wipe out all the mutants to defeat Nimrod."
"Actually, yes, Tony."
After a moment's hesitation, Pym looked at Tony and said, "The Nimrod we're dealing with isn't the Nimrod of 2013, but the Nimrod of 2029. In fact, we just need to tell the Rebels of 2029 this. If they know this information, they might be able to find a way to fight Nimrod."
"Leaving aside the fact that mutants won't be extinct by 2029, even if they manage to eliminate Nimrod by then, the problems we face won't be much easier." Tony raised a new question: "What if Nimrod discovers he's about to be wiped out in 2029 and travels to 2013? Could Ultron stop Nimrod in 2013?"
Ultron quickly responded, stating that it wasn't even necessary for Nimrod in 2029 to be eliminated. As long as Nimrod's computing power in 2029 decreased to a certain extent, Ultron could contain or even eliminate the subroutines left by Nimrod in 2013, and then further prevent Nimrod from entering 2013.
In fact, once Tony and his team got to this point, their mission was already complete. Tony didn't really care what 2029 would be like in another world; he only needed to make sure his own universe wouldn't turn out that way. That's why, when he heard Ultron's report, Tony immediately concluded that the matter was pretty much settled.
If the survivors in 2029 can also eliminate the future Nimrod's true form at the same time, then everyone will be happy. If not, they will have driven Nimrod away. As for what happens in 2029, that's not within their scope of consideration. They can only wish them good luck.
Tony still felt something was off. After thinking about it carefully for a long time, he finally understood why he felt something was wrong: Didn't Ninglu himself notice this logical error?
It was at this moment that they received news that Spider-Man had returned.

With the help of Shadowcat and Professor X's mind, the White Queen finally roused Lucas Bishop, who had been lying in a coma for two months. He awoke in a daze, gasping for air, and then, seeing Cyclops still alive and well with one eye intact, clutched his head and asked, "What...what year is this?"
“In 2013, man, you succeeded.” Cyclops patted Bishop on the shoulder: “We’re now figuring out how to deal with Nimrod, and we already have a plan.”
“Ninglu… oh no, no.”
After taking a deep breath, Bishop looked at the X-Men: "I come from Earth 1191 in 2059, which is a possible future of Earth 811."
"And this is Earth 616 in 2013. Earth 811 is a possible future for us." The Beast finished speaking and looked at Bishop with a puzzled expression: "While it might seem like a Russian nesting doll analogy, Mr. Bishop, what is the purpose of saying this,..."
“I came to 2029 to stop Nimrod from evolving to its final stage, but we failed, so we decided to start from the source.”
Bishop took a deep breath and shook his head helplessly: "I told Cyclops about this in the future, which is why we planned the time travel operation to come to 2013 and find a way to kill Nimrod completely, but it seems we still failed."
"Well, another piece of bad news. It seems that another dystopian world where Logan survives to the end is not the end of this nightmare."
Ignoring Logan's snort, Cyclops looked at Bishop: "So, Mr. Bishop, what stage has things reached in 2059?"
"Humanity has been completely extinct. There are no humans left. The last resistance has failed. Even more terrifying are the mutants. For some reason, Nimrod suddenly began to slaughter the mutants who had been imprisoned in concentration camps for decades."
The X-Men weren't surprised; what they found strange was that Nimrod hadn't killed all the mutants. So Cyclops asked Bishop, "So, do you know why?"
“I don’t know. All I know is that the Nimrod Sentinels suddenly entered concentration camps all over the world and began to kill indiscriminately. I was able to travel through time using an old little robot.” Bishop carefully recalled the terrible apocalyptic scene of that day: “I, I only remember the Nimrods repeating one sentence over and over again.”
He said that Nimrod has grasped the key to evolution and that Nimrod will become a mutant.
