Chapter 471 The Truth About Ninglu: Kang

Marvel's promethium is not one of DC's ten metals, but a symbiotic liquid metal. This liquid metal has certain anti-magic properties, and being liquid, it can be shaped at will and can combine with living organisms.

And this is the raw material needed for every Nimrod Sentinel.

"This is why the Nimrod Sentinel cannot teleport himself here. From a time perspective, Hell's Border is not currently being mined on a large scale, and only one Hell's Border can exist at any given time. This means that the promethium in Nimrod's body will conflict with the unmined promethium in Hell's Border."

Strange explained to Peter and the others why Nimrod didn't send a fully-fledged Nimrod Sentinel like the Terminator did—because he couldn't. He could only send a portion of his program or a regular Sentinel. But sending a regular Sentinel would basically be suicide.

Iliana asked the most basic question: "Then how did this thing get into Limbo?"

Then she saw Peter looking at her, and frowned as she asked, "What's wrong?"

"Future Nimrod Sentinels will be able to replicate the X-gene of any mutant they come into contact with..."

Iliana suddenly realized, so it was because of her...?!

“So, the reason why Nimrod will be able to mass-produce in the future is because they will control the Hell’s Frontier.” Ignoring the bewildered Snowflake, Peter concluded, “But Iliana did not sense any changes in the Hell’s Frontier, so these promethium metals were actually taken away much earlier, during the time of Velasco.”

“There’s another possibility,” Strange said. “If I remember correctly, Doom also took some of the promethium.”

Peter shook his head. He didn't think it was Doom who did it. To put it bluntly, Doom had no reason or need to do it. AIM, or rather Hydra, couldn't really offer Doom what he needed. If Hydra intended to rule the world, Doom might even stand against them.

"If it was Velasco, why would he give this thing to Hydra and AIM?"

Thor's question silenced everyone. After all, it seemed reasonable for Velasco to cooperate with Hydra—a demon and Hydra reaching an agreement. But something still felt off. If AIM had never been to Limbo, how did they know about the properties of this metal? And without scientists, how did Velasco know that Hydra and AIM needed it?

"It's as if there's someone in the middle who knows about Hydra's existence, is facilitating their path, and also knows about the properties of promethium. And this person must have been to the frontier of hell."

Peter scratched his head and began to list the possible identities using a process of elimination: "The X-Men are definitely not it, the rest of the Limbo crew aren't it either, Doom isn't it, Velasco doesn't understand science, so the rest..."

Did Kang know about Hydra and AIM? It's hard to say, but it's highly likely, and he's the most likely person to connect all of this. How Bishop of Earth 811 traveled through time is still unknown. How Nimrod came to Earth 616, which is a possible past, is also unknown. As for time travel, Peter only knows that one person can manipulate time so easily.

Only Kang. And what was Kang's purpose last time? It was to create a super artificial intelligence. He first guided the Green Goblin AI, and then, finding that the Green Goblin AI did not meet expectations, he guided Pym to upgrade Ultron. Nimrod is the same this time. Tony paused, then looked at his teammates: "The only people who might know the answer are Hydra."
