I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 467 The Demise of AIM
Chapter 467 The Demise of AIM
As the Airbus One gradually descended, suddenly, anti-aircraft missiles bombarded the Airbus One and the stealthy Quinjet fighters behind it. Unfortunately, both the Quinjet fighters and the Airbus One were almost empty at this moment. Only the entire crew of the Avengers jumped out of the plane before being hit by the anti-aircraft fire and then descended from the sky.
Pym and Janet, who were at the Raft prison, also rushed to join the operation. Not only that, Wanda and Pietro also came along. In their own words, they were sent by Magneto to help Spider-Man, so they should come along.
After a brief moment of thought, the captain rejected Tony's suggestion not to involve them and allowed the two mutants to join the operation. Ten people then descended from the sky.
The fastest to fall were Hulk and Thor. Hulk landed almost flawlessly on an anti-aircraft missile launcher, then launched an attack on the AIM engineers in yellow protective suits. He slapped them away one by one, only to find that these grunts were not dead, but were jumping up and down alive.
After landing, Thor smashed a launcher and summoned lightning to strike all the enemies in the area. He also found that these guys were almost unharmed and got up immediately.
"Don't hold back, all of these guys are Extremis Virus modifiers! Every single one of them is a bomb!"
As Tony cruised, he launched a barrage of miniature missiles to destroy these guys from the inside. Those passively modified aside, these guys who actively fought the Avengers were all terrorists and self-propelled bombs; killing them was the best solution.
Moreover, these ragtag soldiers don't seem to have any intelligence value. Apart from Killian, there's no need to leave them alive. If Killian resists fiercely, there's no need to leave even him alive.
Having thought of this, Tony landed directly in front of Killian, whose body was already covered in fiery patterns. Killian smiled at Tony and said, "Finally, we meet on the rooftop."
“First of all, this is a dock warehouse.” Tony opened his visor and looked at Killian, teasingly adding, “Secondly, who are you?”
Killian paused for a moment, then charged forward in a rage and punched Tony. Tony closed his armor and raised his arm to block, tearing a part of the new All-Different Armor apart with the scorching heat of the punch. But before Killian could even rejoice for a second, he saw the new All-Different Armor rapidly reassemble and recover.
And Tony's reply: "It's over, my turn."
The arc-shaped reactor on his chest emitted a powerful beam of light. Tony, watching the Avengers rain down on him, asked a crucial question: "Um, has anyone found Rhodey?"
“He’s here, Tony. AIM is working on him.”
The gigantic Ant-Man burst through the dock warehouse, cradling the unconscious Colonel Rhodes in his hands. A group of AIM engineers self-destructed at his feet, but thanks to his enlarged defensive capabilities, the explosions did not temporarily resolve the situation.
Two super-adaptors rushed out at this moment. They quickly found Thor and Hulk and began to attack. Hulk mercilessly punched the super-adaptor in the head, but the latter's head quickly healed and emitted a high temperature similar to that of an Extremis virus infected person, and then punched Hulk in the head.
Its fists grew to be as big as Hulk's, and its own size rapidly changed, just like Hulk's, and it began to exchange punches with Hulk repeatedly.
On the other side, the super-adaptor that was facing Thor also transformed into a cloak and armor after receiving the attack, and turned one of its hands into a hammer, unleashing lightning to clash with Thor.
“What strange creations!” Thor smashed the super-adaptor in two with a single blow, then watched as the liquid metal robots regenerated. “A few months ago, they were just ordinary machines powered by copper wires and electricity, easily dealt with by Knar. But now, they’ve become monsters like this.” “Yeah, it seems their evolution is a bit abnormal.”
Black Panther appeared behind the enemy Thor was facing, stabbing a claw into the superadaptor's head and attempting to detach it. However, the superadaptor regrown its head moments later. Looking at the metal in his hand, Black Panther remarked, "This thing... doesn't seem like technology from this era."
"This doesn't seem like technology from this era. You mean it was brought by Nimrod?"
Quicksilver walked around beating up the AIM engineers, then ran over and asked a question, but Black Panther, who had been thinking about the entire timeline, shook his head.
“No, Nimrod arrived too late, and we’ve encountered more than one time-traveling enemy before.”
These metals are derived from the same metals used by the Molten Man, but the technology used to fuse with the Extremis virus, along with the skillful ability to mimic it, seems to be something that modern technology could not possibly achieve.
Considering the disgusting behavior of someone in the previous Green Goblin incident, Black Panther reasonably suspects that this mess was caused by some Conqueror Kang.
This guy really is everywhere. The Avengers must find a way to deal with the Time Stone, otherwise Kang is just too disgusting.
However, although the superadaptor seems very powerful, it is not invincible. On Thor's side, as Thor continuously infused the superadaptor with his divine power, the superadaptor eventually became Thor's prisoner and was then hard-controlled.
As for Hulk, super-adaptors are powerless against magic; all Peter and Wanda need to do is trap him with magic at the same time, and the problem will be solved.
The battle ended with an explosion. As the explosion subsided, Tony landed nearby, covered in smoke, and let out a helpless sigh.
"Killian couldn't beat me in the end, so he just self-destructed. I wonder if he had some deep-seated grudge against me."
Until the very end, Tony, who couldn't remember why he had a grudge against Killian, arrived here, and everyone's attention was focused on the super-adaptor that was under magical control. Because it was no longer a service robot of the American Avengers, the super-adaptor was a perfect white, instead of the colors of the American flag.
"So... you were waiting for me."
As Wanda's expression froze and Peter shouted "Be careful!", the magical chains were severed. The super-adaptor's body began to change, and then it uttered a voice that didn't sound indifferent.
"And here I am, Avengers."
I haven't been in the zone these past couple of days, and my writing hasn't been very good either.
