Chapter 466 AIM's Desperate Struggle

When AIM President Alderweireld Killian heard that Airbus One had lost contact, he was completely bewildered.

If you say the Pentagon can't find Airbus 1, then he has no doubt, after all, he hijacked Airbus 1. He also believes that Tony Stark won't act rashly, since his good brother War Machine is still in his hands, and besides, they need Airbus 1 to guide them here to find AIM.

But Killian wasn't Stark, nor did he have a prestigious family background. To ensure his revenge plan succeeded, he began collaborating with Stark's ex-girlfriend, botanist Maya Hansen, to study the Extremis virus she discovered in plants.

However, they need money to begin their research.

That's why Hydra approached them, recruiting AIM as one of their front men. Up to this point, Killian was still unaware of Hydra's activities. It wasn't until the Extremis virus research was successful and they began working on their next project—a new type of robot created by fusing special liquid shape memory metal with the Extremis virus—that Hydra approached them, demanding more personnel and increased investment.

Killian's attitude was clear: as long as he could kill Stark, what did Hydra matter!
"Have the remaining superfit adjustments been completed?"

“It’s done, but we only have three super-adaptors. One has lost signal. Can the other two stop the Avengers?” The subordinate reported hesitantly. Killian glanced at the guy impatiently. So what if they can’t handle it? Won’t they just self-destruct? Even if they all self-destruct, they’ll still kill Stark.

"Something's wrong, boss!"

"What's going on? The Avengers have attacked?" Killian glanced impatiently at his subordinates, then received a shocking message: "No, Mr. Griffin has run away with the Cosmic Cube model!"

But so far, they've only completed the first step. Based on decades of research into the Tesseract and data sent by Hydra, S.H.I.E.L.D. has developed a shell theoretically capable of containing and moving the spatial rift. What good is taking away a shell?

He probably sensed something was wrong and ran away. It's unlikely he actually found a way to open a spatial rift and alter reality. So why didn't he stay and wreak havoc?
So the trouble with this guy is that he has some information about Hydra, so it's best to leave it to Hydra to deal with.

"Ignore him, tell Hydra to take care of this guy."

Airbus One had entered visual range, but radar showed that there was more than one target in front of it; an even smaller aircraft was following nearby. In other words, the Avengers had arrived.

Killian took a deep breath; the day had finally come.

"Has Colonel James Rhodes's Extremis virus modification been completed?"

He finally asked his deputy the same question.

"Not yet, boss, we need more time..."

“Then forget about it.” Killian gritted his teeth and made up his mind: “Our guests have arrived, get ready!”

On Airbus One, the Avengers gathered together; what was originally the president's private jet had now become their conference room. After listening to Tony's account of the entire process, Captain America nodded: "That makes sense, but why didn't Nimrod attack us? As far as we know, he's fully capable of wiping out the entire Avengers."

“The answer is simple.” Pym pondered: “Nimrod has no physical body. He didn’t send the Nimrod Sentinels with him. He only sent his data and will operate them remotely in the future. So for now, what we need to deal with is just a huge super artificial intelligence.”

“But the other side is very smart and advanced. In the future, it will be able to overpower Ultron, and now it can also evade the joint search by Jarvis and Ultron.” Peter explained another situation: “But it still has a disadvantage. It is not powerful enough to be able to delete or merge with Ultron.”

“That’s our advantage. With Ultron around, we don’t need to worry about data being hacked.” Tony concluded, looking at the port that was gradually approaching in the distance. AIM was no longer their main opponent, or rather, they were not worthy of it. They needed to capture Nimrod, who was behind AIM: “Now it’s almost certain that Nimrod’s original vision of the future has gone bankrupt, and now it needs to take matters into its own hands to deal with us.”

"And the Nimrod Sentinels are basically confirmed to be an upgraded version of the Superadaptors. If AIM still retains the Superadaptors, then they must be here."
