Chapter 401 Nick Fury Arrives
Peter, of course, knew nothing about what was happening in Rome. He didn't even know who Nick Fury had sent; he only knew that Nick Fury had definitely sent someone.

Spider-Man's main activity in Madrid was still taking photos. Surprisingly, Madrid didn't have a lot of crime, and even if there was, the local police were more than capable of handling it.

If there aren't enough police, you can hire Wild Bands. In short, for the time being, Madrid doesn't have any supervillains—it seems like that's some kind of New York specialty.

"There's definitely something wrong with that."

Harry, carrying large bags, looked at Peter with a camera hanging around his neck and complained, "Why can you walk around with a camera hanging on your neck while I have to carry their bags?"

“It’s a very simple reason, Lyman. Parker can take pictures, and he’s a skinny little guy,” Lightning said, bumping Harry with his shoulder. The reason he bumped Harry was simple—he was also carrying a bag, and a bigger one than Harry.

Peter shrugged helplessly, indicating that it was none of his business. Actually, he was quite happy with the current situation, since being out and about with everyone meant he didn't have to worry about other things.

"So...you've gone on dates, but haven't officially become a couple yet?"

On the other side, Mary Jane overheard Gwen's words and felt puzzled: "Because other girls like him too? I feel like his problem is still bigger."

"Maybe, but I don't really want to pressure him. What if... what if he hates me even more because of this?"

"Then you can step up your offensive or something, and tell me who your competitors are?"

Gwen glanced at the person sharing photos with Peter from afar, then shook her head helplessly.

Gwen didn't want to put pressure on Peter, after all, there were very few times like this when Peter could relax. Like last night's battle, although Peter described it very casually, Gwen didn't think so.

He seemed to be deliberately downplaying the urgency of the battles he was about to face.

Peter seemed to notice something, glanced at Gwen, and then held up his phone. Gwen picked it up, looked at the message Peter had sent, and raised an eyebrow. Mary Jane curiously leaned over to take a look and was surprised to find it was a text message inviting Gwen to lunch.

"So...would you mind if I came along?"

"Without a doubt, I definitely mind."

MJ shrugged helplessly: "Well, Liz and Harry are dating, Betty and Thompson are dating, and now you're almost there too. Our band is going to fall apart in less than a month."

“If a band member going on a date can cause a band to fall apart, then I need to consider whether our leader and lead singer have a serious problem.” Gwen said, lifting her bag as she spoke. “You can write articles while you eat lunch alone. Didn’t the Daily Bugle assign you a few articles?”

"This is too cruel. You guys are all dating, and I can only write articles."

MJ gave a helpless and bored smile, waved to Gwen, and left. Gwen jogged over to Peter, who looked at her with some surprise: "You didn't buy anything?"

"You think I'll get more pocket money just because my dad got a promotion? No way." "Well, I don't have that problem. I have two internship stipends from Baxter Building and Osborn Industries, although... I don't think I've actually done any internship work."

Gwen couldn't help but roll her eyes at Peter, then asked, "What made you decide to invite me to lunch?"

"Well... anyway, there's nothing else going on, and I wanted to say thank you."

"?"

"The time of Earth 65."

Regardless, on Earth-65, it was Gwen who risked her life to find him, and she did indeed help the local spider Gwen quite a bit. Given the uncertainty of whether the web event would be triggered, Peter couldn't help Spider Gwen, but Gwen still used her abilities to help a great deal.

“Not a bad excuse.” Gwen paused for two seconds after saying that. “So, where are we going to eat?”

"There's a Spanish paella place on the way, but Madrid is inland, not on the coast, so I'm not sure if it's very good. Paella actually originated in Valencia. The good news is that after our trip to Madrid, we'll go to Valencia to take a boat to Naples, so maybe we'll be able to eat something even better there."

After listening quietly to Peter's explanation, Gwen replied somewhat nonchalantly, "I'm not sure I can taste the difference."

"Me too, let's go."

Peter did indeed find a restaurant on the roadside. He's never really liked eating at high-end restaurants. Part of the reason was that he'd never been to one before, and another part was that he had a stereotype that those places were purely about creating a sense of superiority through high prices, and that it was easy to spend money and not get a full meal, so there was no point in going there to eat.

Peter Parker's motto is to eat at the kind of home-style restaurants that locals frequent.

After the two ordered a seafood paella at the restaurant, Peter went to the restroom while waiting for lunch. He asked the owner if there was a restroom in the restaurant and where it was, and then went into the restaurant's restroom.

Almost as soon as Peter entered, he realized something was wrong. For a semi-public restroom, the smell was far too bland. He immediately turned around and heard the door click shut automatically. Then the holographic projections around him disappeared, and Nick Fury, sitting in a chair with his legs propped up on a table, twirling a Rubik's Cube in his hand, asked, "How was your trip to Europe, Spider-Man?"

"Actually, I need to go to the restroom, and this is obviously not the place."

Nick Fury was silent for a few seconds, then sighed helplessly: "The bathroom is next door. Go first, and don't even think about running away."

“I just hope you don’t take up too much of my time, Fury.”

Peter shrugged. He was just there to use the restroom. If Nick Fury wasted too much time, anyone would know something was wrong.

“Gwendolyn knows who you are. Your disappearance must be related to Spider-Man. But don’t worry, it won’t take up much of your time. I’m just here to tell you a few things about the Elementals.”
