Chapter 399 Relaxation Time
The second stop of the tour group, Madrid, was perhaps the most relaxing and least thought-provoking part of the entire trip—this time, the elementalists were truly driven away, and it was not clear in the short term that they would make a comeback.

"So, it was so bright last night because you took down a giant fireman?"

Gwen spoke while eating breakfast. The Spanish way of life seems strange to most people. Most EU countries use Central European Time, or UTC+1, while Spain uses a dual time zone system, adjusting its time to UTC+2 from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. However, geographically speaking, Spain's longitude is roughly the same, or even further west.

The UK uses Greenwich Mean Time (UTC), meaning that in Spain, the actual time is one hour behind the clock during winter time and two hours behind during summer time. If you start work at 9 am in February, it's actually 8 am; if you start work at 10 am in May, it's also actually 8 am.

This led to a problem: students who had set their time to Spanish local time got up at six or seven o'clock, when it was actually only a little after five. As a result, the shops were mostly filled with tourists, especially these students.

Peter and Gwen Cindy found a coffee shop to have breakfast. They sat in a corner and talked about what happened last night. Since there were no other people around and they had music playing, Gwen wasn't worried about being overheard.

Cindy just sat there drinking her coffee, as usual, and didn't say much.

"Actually, that guy is called Molten Man. He is a lump of high-temperature liquid metal that can self-destruct in extreme situations."

Peter shrugged. Gwen could only imagine the battle from the previous night; the elementals' wide-area AOE attacks were extremely unfavorable to a stealth-based character like her. In fact, not only her, but even Black Cat and Cindy had very little impact in the fight, given how theoretically powerful their opponents were.

With unlimited regeneration, immunity to physical damage, and matter control, they have all sorts of abilities. If they saw Gwen, they might actually be looking for a hostage. But if they didn't know of Gwen's existence, those abilities could easily cause collateral damage.

Gwen blew on the coffee she was holding, seemingly lost in thought. After a while, she looked at Peter and asked, "What are you thinking about?"

"...I wasn't thinking about anything, I'm looking at where to go for fun later."

As a tourist city, Madrid naturally has no shortage of attractions, so Peter was looking for a place to go and have some fun, but Gwen interrupted him with a sentence: "Just go wherever you happen to be, there's no need to specifically go to any particular attraction."

Peter paused for a moment, looked at Cindy, and somewhat unexpectedly, Cindy nodded in agreement, so Peter had no further objections.

As an ancient capital that has survived from the classical era of Europe to the present day, Rome possesses numerous ancient underground aqueducts and catacombs. Hidden within these sites are not only the dead, but also those who should have died but did not.

Amidst the rapid firing of assault rifles, Steve Rogers, disguised as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent "Captain," leaped into the air and hid behind a tomb. He then picked up a captured assault rifle and fired continuously. With a burst of fire, the other side fell completely silent.

However, the captain did not approach casually. Instead, he waited for an opportunity. After another scream came from the other side, he went out, looked at Logan walking towards him, and changed the bullets in his weapon.

"Not having a shield is really troublesome," the captain thought to himself, then looked at Logan: "Eyepatch, what's up ahead?"

“There’s no threat anymore, I’m sure of it, Captain.” Logan looked at the captain, not quite sure why he had chosen “Captain” as his codename. Even though they were all wearing masks that didn’t match their real faces, it was still very easy for others to think that he was Captain America.

“Since there’s nothing there, let’s move on. We need to find out who’s behind the Elementals and what they’re planning all these actions for.” As he spoke, he led the way and continued forward. The two of them had been walking in the dimly lit underground tomb for quite a while when suddenly, Logan grabbed the captain.

Something is not right.

The captain immediately grabbed his gun and stood guard: "Someone's coming?"

"I'm not sure if it's a person...hehe."

Logan became alert, holding two daggers and looking ahead. A figure appeared in the distance, but in the dim torchlight, it was impossible to see who it was. However, it was certain that the person was not a friend.

The captain watched from afar as the person emitted a light in the dim tunnel—no, it was more like—it was on fire.

“Jim Hammond, it really is him.” The captain tried his best to suppress his complicated emotions, looking at his old comrade who had lost himself, and said in a calm tone: “The last time he appeared was in Madrid, with Mr. Ominous. It seems that the intelligence was correct. His body was recovered by the people behind the Super Soldier Project and transformed into the human weapon he is now.”

"...There's nowhere to escape from here."

Logan's casual remark revealed their perilous situation, and the two of them immediately turned and ran, wary of the first Human Torch who might catch up at any moment. However, the Human Torch did not immediately pursue them, but instead raised his hands and continuously unleashed raging flames forward. The flames almost instantly engulfed the entire catacombs.

After burning for some time, all the flames in the tomb, including those on Jim Hammond, died down. Just as the original Human Torch was about to give chase, an electronic communication message popped up in his mind.

"No need to chase after him, Human Torch. Spider-Man has taken an important asset of ours. Go and handle it."

"The enemy still has a chance of survival."

"Even if you survive, the other party is only at the level of an ordinary agent. No matter how elite they are, there is a limit." The voice in the earpiece said dismissively, "Leave it to the Winter Soldier, he will handle all of this. As for you, you should go and deal with Spider-Man."

"Understood, Dr. Zola."

As Thunderbolt spoke, he withdrew from the tunnel, while the captain, who had used Logan as a human shield, held his breath and dragged the unconscious Logan, who had lost consciousness due to lack of oxygen, out of the tunnel.

He overheard Thunderfire's communications in the distance and realized who was behind the weapons expansion program.

“Arnim Zola, he’s still alive.”
