I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 386 Prepare early
Chapter 386 Prepare early
Now that he knew his opponents were the Elementals, and that they possessed true identities and approximate abilities, Peter saw no need to recklessly charge in. He could simply learn from Batman and prepare methods to deal with these guys in advance.
In fact, it's fair to say that these villains are all top-tier in strength. Both the Sandmen and Watermen possess a very obvious characteristic of "immortality." As long as they retain some sand or come into contact with water, they can regenerate indefinitely.
Perfect timing, Peter hasn't yet checked how the device that Norman, or rather the AI Green Goblin, developed to suppress spider-sensors works, so he can take the opportunity to investigate it as well.
So the next day, Peter went to the spiderweb base to begin his research. Dr. Jonathan also arrived at the lab early to take care of his spiders.
“Good afternoon, Dr. Jonathan.” Peter said, then suddenly remembered something: “Speaking of which, weren’t you involved with Dr. Connors in the project to develop the Green Goblin serum antidote?”
"Yes, to help Phil Yurik remove the Green Goblin serum from his body. Originally, we planned to use the same gene-editing treatment as Connors, but we don't have Phil Yurik's original DNA sample."
Gene reversal therapy involves taking a person's original genetic data and then using gene editing technology to reverse it, restoring it to its original genetic sequence. Although this technology is extremely costly and complicated because Osborn Technologies lacks the gene editing equipment, Dr. Connors had already made related attempts before.
The biggest problem now is that we don't have the original DNA samples of Yurik, Hamilton, and the other cyborgs from the rescued goblin army; we can only infer their DNA from the existing data.
"Of course, Connors is mainly in charge. I'm trying to improve the genes of these spiders and make adjustments. If everything goes smoothly, they may be able to better adapt to human DNA sequences and reduce the matching requirements."
The spider totem is essentially metaphysics. Peter told Dr. Jonathan about this, but Jonathan just smiled. As a scientist, only what has been verified is credible.
Peter nodded and went to the computer to start designing his new suit. As for Nick Fury's supposed method of concealing his identity, Peter thought it was pointless and unnecessary. His identity was certainly no secret to Hydra, so they would know about his trip to Europe no matter what.
Adding to the connection between Felicia and the cat, Peter was basically certain that Nick Fury had ulterior motives. His primary purpose in this European trip was to draw Hydra's attention and contain the Elementals born from the Super Soldier program. Fury had undoubtedly arranged for another, or even more, routes to carry out other missions.
"In conclusion, Spider-Man doesn't need to hide his identity, but I do need a stealth suit. Invisibility can't cover up heat sources, so I need a suit that can block the heat radiation emitted by my body—at least Venom can't do that."
Once it's built, one set will be placed in the Spider Web base as decoration, and the other set will be taken away. Later, it will be combined with Venom, and the design will be complete.
He first used the Speed Suit as a base layer, removing its armor-like structure, and then simplified it to design a completely new black suit. Next, he focused on selecting materials that would prevent the suit from emitting any heat radiation from the wearer, allowing for stealth.
Ideally, there should also be a light source that could startle people, so that a sudden flash in the dark would be quite frightening. Peter was very satisfied with the final design and sent the suit for 3D printing. Then he began to think about how to deal with the Elementals.
"The Sandman and the Molten Man are probably the easiest to deal with. The Sandman can be vitrified by high temperatures, and my bioelectric abilities can do that. Maybe not? But as long as a certain degree of amplification equipment is used, it will be foolproof."
Peter's first thought was the Iron Spider armor, but unfortunately, that armor had recently been destroyed in the battle with Green Goblin, and Tony hadn't yet built a new one, which would likely cause problems by the time they went to Europe. The main reason Peter used the Iron Spider armor was as a suicide truck; its primary function was to wear it on an enemy and then detonate it.
Tony undoubtedly had a lot to say about this.
“But I could extract the mechanical claws from the Iron Man armor and use them to make a backpack, like Cindy did on Earth-65. Wait… I remember the Avengers recorded Otto Octavia’s device; if I could externalize his neural control system…”
Then you can create a mechanical claw backpack that you can carry on your back. As long as this backpack can gather bioelectricity and enhance its output, the mere Sandman will be no match for it.
According to the description, the Molten Man is not composed of pure flame, but rather a liquid metal similar to lava. Therefore, given sufficient low temperatures, it will solidify and become immobile. Ideally, one would take the Iceman from the X-Men with them, but that's not very realistic.
Then he'll have to ask Norman to make some cryogenic bombs for him, preferably not pumpkin-shaped ones.
"Then there's Waterman and Whirlwind. I don't have any ideas about Waterman yet. It's unlikely that the other side would be foolish enough to fight me in a place without water. I don't even want to think about dealing with Waterman in a place like Venice. The main reason is that I've never seen Waterman before and don't know its specific composition. Otherwise, I might be able to find some ways to reduce the opponent's stability."
As for Cyclone… to be honest, in the comics, Cyclone is a mutant who generates wind by spinning, but now, after modern modifications, he's become a living Cyclone. However, his opponent isn't without weaknesses. He had a few ideas, but it would be best to meet the enemy in person to know his true abilities.
But then again...
Peter suddenly remembered something else, about Ultron. He took out his phone and glanced at it. The Avengers really needed to talk about Ultron, especially why Pym wanted to upgrade him.
Pym offered the answer, "Kang lets me witness the future," but despite this, Peter didn't believe Kang was trustworthy, and the rest of the team probably felt the same way. But what's done is done, so how to deal with Ultron became the next problem the Avengers needed to face.
