Chapter 385 Elementals

The Elementals, in the movie *Far From Home*, are a villainous organization created by Mysterio. In reality, they are generated by Mysterio using illusion devices within the MCU universe.

However... Peter doesn't think Nick Fury would be stupid enough not to see these things, so there's no doubt that the so-called "Elementals" do exist in Universe 616.

With Felicia joining in, there's no doubt this will be a particularly important mission.

So Peter followed Cindy to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s secret hideout—a hideout in a small warehouse in a roadside convenience store, completely empty, without any high-tech equipment.

There was only a black marinated egg sitting on a Coke box.

"Let me guess, the European cultural tour was actually a hoax, right?"

Peter looked at the hard-boiled egg and asked his question directly: "Is the real goal to get rid of those elementals?"

"You're very smart, Spider-Man, you really are."

"So why doesn't S.H.I.E.L.D. hire a local European superhero organization, or have the Avengers handle it?"

Peter raised his first question: regardless of who these elementals were, they were certainly no match for the Avengers. If that was the case, wouldn't it be simpler to just send the Avengers out and kill them?

When faced with this question, Nick Fury's answer was as always—it was as if he had said nothing at all.

"Whether it's the European superhero organizations or the Avengers, they're all too big a target. But if Spider-Man goes, at least until you first appear, no one will notice you're up to no good."

Peter nodded, reluctantly accepting the explanation; Nick Fury meant it was a secret mission. Peter then asked the next question, one that Nick Fury probably wouldn't answer directly: "If that's the case, what is S.H.I.E.L.D.'s purpose in eliminating the Elementals?"

"It involves classified information. Just like how your Avengers didn't disclose that list to S.H.I.E.L.D., I won't tell you everything either."

Nick Fury raised an eyebrow, speaking with a hint of sarcasm, but then got down to business: "But without a doubt, this is still part of the illegal human experimentation for the weapons upgrade program, and the Elementals are the newest result of their human experimentation."

“We have reason to believe that the civet left more clues in Europe. Even the place where your parents had their accident is in Europe, Spider-Man.”

Peter frowned, then asked.

"So, what information do you have about the elementals?"

Nick Fury smiled and handed a report to Peter, who took it and his expression turned serious.

The Elementals are currently considered by S.H.I.E.L.D. to be one of the products of the weapon upgrade program, and are very likely one of the most powerful results of the program. They are created using the four elements of water, fire, wind, and earth to create four superpowered individuals.

The first is Maurice Bench, the Water Man, a former U.S. Navy sailor who was arrested for committing three felonies while on leave and then mysteriously disappeared from prison. When he reappeared, he had become the Water Man and had previously attacked a S.H.I.E.L.D. warehouse in Venice.

Its ability is to control water flow within a certain range, and it can also completely transform itself into water flow, thus becoming immune to physical attacks and gaining super regenerative abilities.

The second is the Molten Man, whose real name is Mark Laxton. Originally a scientist at the French Oscape laboratory, he attempted to steal experimental liquid metal to sell to other countries, but ended up coming into contact with the liquid metal and being hospitalized, before mysteriously disappearing. He reappeared as the Molten Man. His ability is to become a living magma, capable of releasing terrifying temperatures comparable to lava, and turning himself into a fluid. He also possesses the toughness of metal and the terrifying temperature of hot metal, and can absorb and release flames.

Third, Cyclone, real name David Cannon, a mutant. His ability as a mutant was to create whirlwinds through his own supersonic spinning. He was a robber who was defeated and imprisoned by Ant-Man Hank Pym. He later disappeared during a prison break.

Now it has been strengthened and modified, its entire body has become a whirlwind, an ever-changing airflow, and its ability is to create storms, control airflow and even weather.

The last one, representing the earth element, is a sandman whose real name is unknown; he once used the alias Flint Marco. A retired soldier of the French Foreign Legion, he was a mercenary, so it's unclear when he was transformed, but when he reappeared, he was already a sandman.

Sandman can control sand with his mind, and he can also transform part or all of his body into sand-like matter. Sandman can change the composition and density of his body, turning into sand grains or hard sandstone, making him immune to all physical attacks.

"This is all the information we've gathered in Europe. To be honest, we can't confirm for now that these four people are a group, because they've never appeared together, but the modifications they underwent are so similar that even a normal person could tell there's something wrong with them."

As Fury said this, he watched Peter finish reviewing the information on all the opponents and then told him, "These are your enemies. Since it's a school trip, you, Agent Spider-Silk, and Black Cat, the daughter of the Spirit Cat, will be responsible for dealing with them."

"Okay, actually, I'm still wondering why I'm the one dealing with them. These guys are all so different from Spider-Man."

After Peter made a few exasperated remarks, he saw Nick Fury take out something else: a new Spider-Man suit.

There's really nothing new about it.

"To ensure the secrecy of this operation, we need to keep your identity a secret for as long as possible. Therefore, I have prepared a brand new suit for you to guarantee the surprise attack."

Peter was stunned for a few seconds before he suddenly realized something very absurd.

This garment couldn't be...

Peter took the new suit, shook it, and when he realized it was indeed the Night Monkey uniform, he was speechless.

"Um, this outfit was specially prepared to keep my identity a secret, right?"

"That's right, Spider-Man, you're welcome."

"What I mean is, all the gloves on this uniform are fingerless. Are you suggesting I leave my fingerprints everywhere?"

Nick Fury paused for a moment, looked at the uniform, his expression frozen for a long while, before reaching out to take the clothes back.

"This is all... a problem with the temporary staff at S.H.I.E.L.D. We'll make a more suitable stealth suit for Spider-Man."

I owe one chapter, I'll make it up tomorrow.
