Chapter 349 Explosion Site
"Hello, 911? I've received some, uh, supernatural items..."

At a roadside café, Inspector George invited Spider-Man and Silk to have a cup of coffee. Cindy didn't order anything because her uniform only had a face mask covering her face, which was completely ineffective in protecting her secret identity. If she wanted to eat something, she would simply remove the mask, revealing her entire face.

Conversely, the fact that she wore a face mask also suggested she wasn't trying to conceal her true identity. Peter thought about it for a moment, but ultimately didn't delve into that point. He simply listened to the 911 call from the man named Arnold Donovan, trying to recall which villain that corresponded to.

The final result was that either he wasn't a villain, or he was so obscure that Peter had never heard of him before. After listening to the entire call, Peter asked his first question: "So, when the officers arrived at his apartment..."

"It took less than half an hour, which is already very fast."

During this time, someone took Donovan away and destroyed the scene. Moreover, none of the neighbors noticed the explosion, and the force of the blast was very controlled, only damaging the living room.

"The windows weren't even blown open?"

"It didn't even hit the windows."

Peter frowned, feeling incredulous. After thinking for a moment, he took the coffee from the waiter, lifted his mask slightly, and pondered as he drank. In the end, he decided to go to the crime scene to check it out first.

"That's exactly what I meant. Let's go."

Inspector Stacy clearly wasn't planning on staying any longer, so she opted to drive. Peter hesitated for a moment, but ultimately decided not to interrupt Inspector Stacy's offer and got into the car with Cindy. Inspector Stacy glanced at the two in the rearview mirror and tentatively asked, "So, are you... partners, or something else?"

“Occasionally we team up.” Cindy answered the question: “We’re not on the same team, we just… have similar abilities.”

Shouldn't people with similar abilities be assigned to different teams? Inspector Stacy muttered to herself, seemingly understanding what her daughter meant by "many girls are surrounding Peter."

He had initially thought it was just about high school girls, but it turned out to involve superheroes. However, work was more important now, so Sheriff Stacy simply sighed and led them to Donovan's apartment.

The scene was remarkably well-preserved, almost entirely undamaged. In fact, most officers wouldn't even bother with such an outrageous crime scene, so Peter could easily take matters into his own hands. He connected directly to Jarvis, then pressed the spider icon on his suit's chest. Instantly, a beam of light emerged from the icon, sweeping across the entire crime scene, and began analyzing it to reconstruct what had happened before the explosion.

Is this thing 100% accurate?

"Um, no, I can only say that what he reproduced was 100% accurate, but not everything can be reproduced."

After Peter shrugged, he asked Sheriff Stacy about the time the call was made. Then he looked at the image Jarvis had reconstructed. In the image, a man whose face was not clearly visible stood in front of the coffee table for a few minutes, then took something from the coffee table, sat on the sofa, and made a phone call.

Realizing it was something important, Sheriff Stacy looked at Peter and asked, "What is that?"

“I really wish I knew what it was, but unfortunately, I don’t.” Peter frowned, but then tried his best to reconstruct the object, and then flipped it over and found that it was probably a ball.

A sphere containing supernatural technology?

The group continued watching to see what was happening. They saw Donovan finish making the call to the police and then idly scroll through his phone. Peter immediately sped up this part until Donovan got up and went to open the door.

Without a doubt, the person who opened the door is the root of everything.

The person at the door couldn't be given any specific information; even a scan didn't reveal much, only a rough estimate of their height. However, it was clear that the person had lifted Donovan up and then slammed him heavily onto the sofa, causing it to overturn. "That's the man! That's the mastermind! He knocked Donovan unconscious! He…"

The man went into the living room, picked up the thing Donovan had originally intended to hand over to the police, and then carried Donovan away. Before leaving, he threw a ball into the room. The ball landed in the living room, and as soon as the man closed the door, the entire living room was completely burned.

"You said no traces of explosives were found at the scene, is that right, Inspector Stacy?"

"Yes, Spider-Man, what's wrong?"

"Because according to the model's data, there isn't absolutely no residue."

Peter initially thought the other party was using the Extremis virus, since in Iron Man 3, the Extremis virus's explosion characteristic was that no explosives or bomb residue could be found. However, judging from the model, the bomb was not a human body, but that small ball.

More importantly, the small ball wasn't completely without debris; it's just that the debris was blown quite far away. Peter glanced at Cindy, and then the two of them began searching the room. Soon, they found piece after piece of plastic fragments that didn't look like bomb debris at all, and didn't even show any signs of charring. Peter didn't try to assemble them himself; he simply scanned them through the eyepiece and watched as the system automatically completed the assembly.

He saw something incredible.

"Oh no."

"What is this, Spider-Man?"

Noticing Peter's change in mood, Inspector Stacy quickly asked him what was wrong. Peter took a deep breath and said, "It's a pumpkin."

"pumpkin?"

"A pumpkin bomb made of a new type of polymer material. Sorry, I need to make a phone call."

Peter rubbed his temples and then walked into the room inside the apartment. Inspector Stacy and Spider-Woman exchanged a glance, somewhat puzzled as to why Peter was so nervous.

Peter simply called Harry, who answered quickly: "Hey Peter, what's going on?"

"Um, has your dad gone out these past couple of days? Have you noticed anything unusual?"

“I’ve been out every day, but something feels off. What’s wrong?”

"No, it's nothing, it's just..."

Peter frowned, remembering what Gwen had said earlier about Osborn researching a device to treat schizophrenia.

So who is using this pumpkin bomb?
