I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 310 Water Giant Lizard
Chapter 310 Water Giant Lizard
“Mr. Craven has helped us pinpoint Connors’ location. He’s injured, and Ant-Man and the Wasp will be there to pick him up.” Peter, having received the signal, looked at Cindy, who was ready to act, and then at Dr. Jonathan: “Is the serum ready, Dr. Jonathan?”
“It’s done. Mr. Craven’s is done too, and so is Ms. Spider’s. You insisted on putting theirs first.” Jonathan said, handing one vial of serum to Peter and the other to Cindy, but then said with some difficulty, “The only problem is that yours, Peter, is still being processed and may take a few more minutes.”
"It's too late. I'll do my best to avoid being bitten. Don't worry, I have a spider sense."
Peter took the serum. Because the lizardmen's skin was too tough to be injected, the reversal serum here was in the form of a mist. But that didn't mean it could be distributed throughout New York. Everyone needed their own DNA to complete the serum reversal, and at least for now, a permanent reversal serum had not been developed.
"Are you ready?"
Peter asked Cindy one last question.
Cindy nodded, indicating that everything was ready and the most important task at hand was to obtain the lizard serum from the lizardman.
This task would actually be best left to Quicksilver, but unfortunately, Quicksilver is very difficult to contact. Next is Kitty Phantom, and the X-Men are rushing back to New York (Peter doesn't know where they've gone on their mission). And then there are the Spider-Men, who, relying on their mobility and webs, are trying to retrieve the Lizard Serum.
The two immediately left the laboratory and headed to the Hudson River.
At this moment, the Daily Bugle was in full swing, with its reporters filming from the air in its own helicopter: "We can already see that Professor Chris Connors, a renowned biologist and employee of Osborn Technologies who was transformed by the late supervillain 'Doctor Octopus,' is now swimming on the Hudson River. My God, it's longer than the entire speedboat!"
"To be honest, I'm a little unaccustomed to news reports that aren't covered by Jonah Jameson."
As Peter leaped from the high-rise building, he grumbled, "Just imagine what Jonah would say: 'It must be Spider-Man's fault?' No, no, no, that's too simplistic..."
"Spider-Man should be held responsible for this incident! Without a doubt, it's these irresponsible and incompetent superheroes that our society really needs to be wary of!" Jonah Jameson's voice quickly drowned out the reporters' reports, suppressing everything: "If Spider-Man really has the ability to stop crime, then why didn't he catch that damn monster yesterday, instead of letting it live until now?!"
Do you like listening to this?
Cindy didn't quite understand. Jonah Jameson was someone who criticized Spider-Man in the news every day. Spider-Man, as one of the most famous superheroes, was unwilling to take off his mask, which Jonah found incomprehensible and irresponsible. So no matter what Spider-Man was involved in, Jonah would always find something to attack him.
Logically speaking, Peter shouldn't like Jonah.
"Who likes being talked about? But you can't really shut him up."
Peter and Cindy simultaneously hooked onto the underside of the Daily Bugle helicopter, but surprisingly, they didn't cause the helicopter to lose its balance. As the two of them swooped down towards the lizardmen, Peter shrugged helplessly: "And if Jonah Jameson suddenly stops saying anything one day, I'll start to suspect that he's been replaced by the Skrulls."
"Skuru?"
“Yes, the race that Mar-Vell mentioned, capable of disguising themselves as other creatures.”
Seeing the water getting closer, Peter shouted, "Proceed according to plan!" He then delivered a Rider Kick to the lizardman's back. The massive lizardman let out a wail, its head and tail emerging from the water. Cindy, still in mid-air, used her spider silk to stick the plastic bag to his shoulder. However, the lizardman tore through the silk with a claw. Peter then used the symbiote to control the lizardman's arms. Compared to the weak spider silk, the symbiote's bio-tentacles were much stronger and more resilient. However, there was one problem: he was currently moving by stepping on the lizardman, so he didn't have enough leverage.
Venom extended two tentacles from Peter's back, grabbing the base of the bridge in an attempt to stop the lizardman. However, the lizardman continued to move forward, his tail thrashing violently as he swam faster. Venom held him firmly, preventing him from advancing.
[I'm about to... oh no, the bridge is about to give way! If I don't let go, it'll collapse!]
"Then, let go!"
The sudden loss of strength propelled Spider-Man and the Lizard Man simultaneously into the air. Peter was alright, as he was mostly flying through the air, and Venom was able to conjure wings to slow him down. The Lizard Man fared much worse; he tumbled across the water like a giant skipping stone before falling into the large net that Cindy had woven on the river using the piers of another bridge. The layers upon layers of nets tightly bound him.
She fired her webs, removing the atomizing device and the remaining serum from the lizardman's shoulder. At that moment, the lizardman spat out a large amount of venom, which corroded the web clean.
“Good job, Cindy. Take all of these to the lab or Avengers Tower and destroy them.”
As Peter spoke into the communicator, he took out the recovery serum he had prepared for the lizardmen and took a deep breath: "Leave the rest to me."
"be careful."
Have I ever been careless?
Peter chuckled, then swiftly approached the giant lizardman who had plunged into the water, swinging on his webs: "Hey, Dr. Connors, remember me? Want to stop and chat?"
The Lizard ignored Spider-Man and continued his escape, while Peter, much more relaxed, kept track of the Lizard using the Daily Bugle helicopter that was constantly tracking him. He couldn't help but joke, "So, you don't have any plans? You know, Kraven just called me, and I'm pretty sure getting bitten by a radiated lizard won't make you Lizard Man, so why don't we stop and talk?"
The lizardman finally paid attention to Peter and hurled an oil drum at him.
"My God, is that an empty oil drum? Is that what floats in the Hudson River?"
A spider silk thread stuck to the oil drum, and Peter grabbed the drum and smashed it onto the lizardman's head. At the same time, a jolt of electricity flashed through Peter's head.
He saw a scene from the technology expo nine months ago, and he saw the spider that didn't bite him, but instead bit Gwen's hand.
"Oh no! Not now!"
Spider-Man then fell from the sky.
