Chapter 260 and the Panic
"All of these things are strange, really."

Peter sat in the hotel lounge once again. His first day in Puerto Rico involved resolving a major incident known as the Cosmic Cube Crisis, and the next day he went on a date with Gwen. In the afternoon, they visited a US military exhibition, which, unsurprisingly, showcased a considerable amount of advanced technology inaccessible to the outside world, designed to entice nerds.

[You went on a date with a girl the day before and kissed her more than once. The next day you're going on a date with another girl, so you find it strange. Honestly, that's because you have too high a moral compass. I guarantee Johnny Storm would handle this situation with ease.]

"Uh, hehe."

The advantage of having a symbiote is that you'll never be bored, while the disadvantage is that its chat style is very similar to yours.

If you feel awkward, then it will be even more troublesome.

[It's a real shame. If you were French, or if time had gone back three hundred years, this problem probably wouldn't exist.]

"Shut up, honestly, this is all too strange. Do you think I should really make a choice? No... the problem is..."

Peter was about to say something when, as if sensing something, he turned around and stood up. Cindy walked over, wearing a white off-the-shoulder evening gown and high heels so they would be about the same height. She wasn't wearing much makeup, or perhaps she was too nervous to put it on.

Cindy walked over to Peter, nervously brushed her hair aside, and stammered, "Um... I'm sorry, Peter, for keeping you waiting. Can... can we leave now?"

Peter nodded blankly, as he heard Venom's sigh.

Wow, looks like someone can't make up their mind right now and is going on a date with another girl tomorrow.

Cindy and Gwen chose completely different dating routes, or to put it bluntly—Cindy Munn didn't really know how to date.

That line about competing with Gwen was likely a hasty response after hearing Gwen's date invitation. She probably then became anxious and insecure about it.

She had no idea what to do with the morning. She stammered that they should go see a movie, but she didn't even know what to see.

"It's okay, relax, Cindy, just think of it as... we're just out having fun, relax."

Peter looked around, then draped his coat over Cindy's shoulders. Cindy said "thank you" first, then, realizing what he meant, looked at Peter with a slightly puzzled expression: "I'm not cold..."

"I know we won't be cold, but it's November now, so even if it's to prevent passersby from suspecting anything, it's best to wear a couple more layers."

"Hug, sorry."

"No, it's okay...you don't need to apologize."

Perhaps the guy who should apologize is the one who should have thought of a plan from the moment she took the initiative to kiss him, when there was only one girl involved.

Shut up, Venom.

You should be glad that only two people of the opposite sex are currently showing interest in you; there's no doubt you'll attract many more in the future.

Peter swore this was the first time he'd ever so desperately wanted Venom to shut up. He sighed and then comforted Cindy, "It's okay, like I said, let's just... hang out and have some fun. Is there anywhere you'd like to go?"

"An amusement park?" Cindy asked tentatively, and only after Peter didn't object did she continue, "Maybe it's a roller coaster or something? I used to be terrified of them and never dared to ride them. But now..."

"The Spider-Silk agents certainly aren't afraid of roller coasters."

Peter laughed. "Let's go then."

An hour later, Cindy, who was clinging to Peter's arm, looked somewhat dazed as Peter shook her shoulder. She then looked around and asked, "Is this... over?"

"Yes."

Cindy stepped off the roller coaster with a sense of disillusionment, feeling no thrill or excitement whatsoever. Or rather, she could no longer feel any excitement from roller coasters, drop towers, or pirate ships.

To make matters worse, she felt that her performance was terrible.

"I'm so sorry, I really messed up. I'm so sorry." "No, no, it's okay. Actually, I didn't know how to go on a date either. If I had known, maybe things would have been better."

Peter quickly comforted Cindy. Yesterday, Gwen had said she apologized a lot, but today Cindy was practically becoming "Miss Sorry," apologizing all day long.

I feel like I'm about to cry.

"The most important thing about going out is having fun, right? I'm having a great time. If all else fails... we still have the afternoon! We can go to the observatory, where we can do experiments or read together. And then there's the evening; we're in the equatorial region, so maybe we can see stars that aren't visible in the Northern Hemisphere..."

Cindy didn't say anything, she just hugged Peter. Peter smiled helplessly, not knowing what to say. He let Cindy bury her face in his chest.

For a fleeting moment, Cindy considered asking Peter if he could kiss her, but then realized how embarrassing it was that day and she simply couldn't bring herself to say it.

She simply let go of Peter, tidied her long hair slightly, and then smiled somewhat embarrassedly.

"Shall we... go eat together?"

"Okay, it's on me."

So, how do you plan to answer who is better?

“I can’t get an answer,” Peter answered honestly. “So I’ve decided to take a two-day break.”

Perhaps you could try saying, "Everything is fine?"

"..."

Peter has no intention of dealing with Venom; he has decided to avoid the issue by escaping it.

Escape is shameful, but useful.

three days later.

The day after Peter returned from his eventful trip to Puerto Rico, on Saturday, Reed Richards looked with satisfaction at his modified Fantastic Four car and happily summoned the Fantastic Four.

"Sue, Johnny, and Ben. This is a great moment!"

Reed announced excitedly, then activated the device to the multiverse and sat down in the car first: "This is an epic scientific breakthrough. At least in our universe, for the first time, humanity has been able to break through the multiverse."

"So, I get to meet another handsome Johnny Storm?! Cool!"

Johnny sat down immediately, and the Thing said as he got into the car, "Or maybe, you'll discover for the first time just how annoying you are."

"Susan, are the children settled in?"

“Please ask Doom.” Susan asked her husband, feeling a bit strange, “Is it okay to ask Doom every time?”

"It's safer for him to be busy. Alright, let's go visit the Baxter Building on Earth 2149!"

Reed excitedly activated the multiverse shuttle, but unexpectedly, the shuttle did not open a door as designed.

Instead, they directly swapped the counterparts from another universe with the Fantastic Four from universe 616.

The fantastical Mr. from another universe smiled and raised his chin.

"I smell it—the smell of fresh meat!"
