I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.

Chapter 239 Contact of the Third Kind

Chapter 239 Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Although they had determined that the Avengers could probably, possibly, or perhaps solve the problem, Star-Lord and the others still held a small meeting to discuss whether or not to tell Spider-Man about it. Star-Lord was the first to speak: "I don't think I can trust that kid. Look at him, dressed like that, he's a total freak in a tight suit. He's obviously not a good person."

"Don't judge a book by its cover, Quill."

The sorcerer Adam offered a definitive objection: "I can see that the young man has an incomparably pure and noble soul, even surpassing any of us; he is trustworthy."

"Wow, so now we're dealing with a really nice guy. Do you think we can get something good out of him? Like that gun that girl has or something."

Rocket didn't really care. Strictly speaking, he didn't even agree to continue investigating Michael Kovacs. That monster was too dangerous. They had personally witnessed it destroy a Kree planet. Even the Nova Corps couldn't defeat that kind of thing, let alone them.

“This planet is threatened, and we should at least tell them that they are threatened.”

Drax said something abrupt and unrelated, prompting Gamora to look at him and ask, "And then?"

"We can't beat that monster, so we should leave."

While the Guardians of the Galaxy were having their little meeting, Peter was also having a discussion. He called on the Avengers for backup while chatting with Carol and the others about aliens.

“I’m not entirely familiar with standard diplomatic procedures, but since this is an alien spaceship that has landed on American soil, and you are government officials, perhaps you should be in charge of diplomatic affairs?” Peter asked, looking at Professor Michael and Carol.

Carol Danvers is currently an ordinary human, which means the plot of the Captain Marvel movies hasn't taken place in this universe. In other words, well, the Skrulls probably haven't come to Earth, and they're likely not alien refugees at all. But that's not the point. He's more curious about the true identity of Professor Michael Rossi, who's in charge of Project Pegasus, especially since his spider-sense felt a slight tingling sensation when he got closer to the guy.

This person is very likely a scientist from the Kree Empire, and the original Captain Marvel, Mar-Vell, in disguise on Earth. As for whether he is or not, and if so, what his purpose is in coming to Earth, Peter has no idea. In the comics, he came to stop Earth's space program. Could he be here to stop the Americans' Pegasus Project?

On the other side, Carol and Michael, who had heard Peter's question, exchanged glances, then looked at Peter with rather troubled expressions. Carol explained the situation first: "Well... we don't know how to receive aliens according to procedure. We've never seen aliens before, and in fact, we weren't even sure if aliens existed until this year."

"Really? The alien invasion in New York earlier this month was caused by alien creatures captured by the US military in the Arizona desert."

Peter said something that surprised Carol: the US military had actually captured aliens, and these aliens had even invaded New York? She wasn't unfamiliar with similar conspiracy theories, but for Spider-Man to say it was true seemed a bit...

Michael wasn't surprised at all, and even glanced at Carroll, saying, "Do you think the U.S. military is some kind of righteous and benevolent army?"
While they were still chatting, the Guardians of the Galaxy finally came to a conclusion, and sent Adam Warlock and Star-Lord, the most reliable people among them, to explain the situation. However, when the two of them arrived, Peter paused for a moment, then pointed uncertainly at Adam's forehead.

"Wait, is that... an Infinity Stone?" "Oh, yes, you know about it too." Star-Lord chuckled awkwardly before realizing the mistake: "Wait, you know about it too?"

"Really? Which one? The Soul Stone?"

Peter realized the problem was more serious: with the Time Stone no longer in Strange's possession, it was highly likely the other stones were also malfunctioning. In the comics, Adam has the Soul Stone embedded in his forehead, but considering the Soul Stone's unique design in the cinematic universe, he had to ask if that was true.

This surprised Star-Lord and Adam even more.

"You know about the Infinity Stones, but... why?"

"The Infinity Stones are on Earth. During World War II, Red Skull found the Tesseract, which contained the Space Stone. Earlier this year, an Asgardian led an alien army of Chitauri and a scepter containing the Mind Stone to invade Earth. We drove them away and Asgard retrieved the Tesseract, but the Mind Stone and the scepter are still on Earth."

Both were quite surprised that Spider-Man had explained the origins of the Infinity Stones on Earth in just a few words, but conversely, they didn't need much explanation for what happened next. Adam nodded, and the gem on his forehead emitted a dazzling light.

"Don't worry, Spider-Man. I'm just showing you what's really going on—"

The others present found themselves in a fantastical space, seemingly inside an aquarium. On one side was a protective glass enclosure, through which a replay of the Guardians of the Galaxy's past unfolded: Star-Lord, born a rogue, received a commission to steal an Infinity Stone and deliver it to the Supreme Beings—the Soul Stone. The Supreme Beings then used the Soul Stone to create Adam Warlock, but because Adam Warlock could see the true nature of human souls through the Soul Stone, a farcical escape ensued.

This is an alternative Guardians of the Galaxy origin story. Aside from replacing the villains with the Supreme race, revealing Star-Lord's identity as the illegitimate son of the Spartacus Emperor, and adding Mandis and Adam, it's not significantly different from the movies. In short, this group of unreliable individuals eventually formed the Guardians of the Galaxy, saved the galaxy, and began their journey as mercenary-style superheroes.

Next, they received a commission from the Kree Empire to investigate some unknown acts of sabotage. Ronan the Accuser, the highest military commander of the Kree Empire, delegated this "minor matter" to the Guardians of the Galaxy because the Kree Empire was engaged in a protracted war with the Skrull Empire.

Peter glanced at Michael, noticing a fleeting change in his expression when he heard "Kree Empire."

“There, we found the entity that caused the destruction, and unexpectedly, it was a person, who appeared to be an Earthling.”

In the illusion, Adam showed Peter and the others the image of an Earth man who looked incredibly thin and haggard.
