I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.
Chapter 235 Mental Health
Chapter 235 Mental Health
"You mean, you suddenly felt your destructive urge surge, and you actually started thinking about how to kill the enemy during battle?"
Upon hearing this, Reed Richards looked at Peter with confusion: "Spider-Man, I think this is a psychological problem. You should probably see a psychologist."
“I know this sounds strange, Dr. Richards…”
The stone man, who was listening from the sidelines, scratched his non-existent ear. How rare! Someone actually thinks he's a psychopath just because he's thought about murder. Does that mean all the working people in the world are psychopaths? I bet there aren't many working people who haven't fantasized about stabbing their boss to death.
Of course, that's not what Peter meant.
“What I mean is, you said before that symbiotes can arouse the host’s desires. Of course, I think that’s fine, but the fact that thoughts like this have appeared is something I’ve never seen before. This all happened after Venom sealed Gnar away, and I definitely heard Gnar’s voice. Could it be related to them?”
Reed Richards frowned. According to his molecular analysis of Venom, Venom hadn't changed much, at least from a scientific point of view. Swallowing Grendel hadn't altered Venom's appearance.
"Good afternoon, little spider, what's wrong?"
Finally, at Baxter Tower, the Human Torch, who had encountered Spider-Man, walked over with a smile. After Reed gave a brief explanation, Johnny's expression became very strange, but his focus was clearly not on that: "If you have this kind of problem, why don't you go ask that so-called wizard?"
Peter looked at Johnny and thought he made a lot of sense. So a few minutes later, he arrived at the Holy of Holies, which had been almost completely demolished two days earlier but was now fully restored.
"Good afternoon, Spider-Man. I bet you're not here to freeload."
Before Peter could knock, Strange opened the door and invited him in. Once inside, Peter told Strange about his problem. After listening, Strange began to use the Eye of Atmogog on his chest to assess the situation.
“Strange… Nar’s soul has entered a deep sleep. Logically speaking, you shouldn’t encounter any problems. In fact, your situation might be better than before. It’s unlikely that Nar would try to bewitch you.”
After Strange used the Eye of Atomogoe to create a lens for Peter, he explained the current situation: "Well... he probably corrupted a little venom with the Codex of Riot before being completely consumed. It's not a big problem. As long as you pay a little attention, you won't be affected."
Strange also didn't think it was a big problem. Peter scratched his head and continued to ask, "Is there any other solution? I think it was fine before."
"I'm afraid not for the time being. I'll make a prophecy for you. Also, regarding matters concerning the gods, you can ask Thor, although I don't think he has any good ideas either."
Peter scratched his head. Today felt like he was on a journey, going around to see everything. And the truth was just as Strange had said. In fact, as a famously reckless god, Thor was even more of a riddle man than Strange in this matter.
“This is the true nature of the Black Emperor, which will entice everyone to unleash the most terrifying and uncontrollable desires in their hearts, thus corrupting them.” Thor, who had finally stopped calling himself Peter Spider, looked at him seriously: “Spider-Man, you must always be vigilant against Knuckles’ temptations and make the right choices.”
So, what else can Peter do?
Finally, he went to Xavier's School of the Rising Sun.
"So, you're planning to have Emma Foster look at your brain and see if she can give you a hint or something."
On the Xavier Academy playground, Logan, a cigarette dangling from his lips, looked at Peter and shook his head dismissively. "If it were me, I definitely wouldn't do something like this. Kid, you'll have to deal with this on your own." "But what if I hurt someone else because of this?"
Logan remained silent for a while, watching the freshmen who had finally managed to gather together and train, before exhaling a puff of smoke.
"...If I have any advice, it's this: if you only want to do something without hurting anyone, that's far from enough. Anything can happen. Preparation? Preparation is useless when the time comes. You have to rely on yourself, on the clothes you're wearing. Do you trust them? Do they trust you?"
Logan said no more, but after finishing his cigarette, he rudely threw it on the ground and continued, "And most importantly—I don't trust Emma Foster."
Peter looked at Logan with some curiosity.
“There’s no doubt that Forster and the people behind her are planning something, but the biggest trouble and problem is that we don’t know what she wants. She’s now in Pine’s place and is all lovey-dovey with Scott, as if they care about each other a lot, but in reality, they’re both on guard against each other.”
The most obvious thing is that even though using a brainwave analyzer to detect the existence of mutants is the simplest and most direct method, the White Queen has not been able to use it yet. Even when she said that she might be able to find Jean Grey, who has been missing for a long time, Cyclops did not agree.
This actually violated the initial agreement between the two, but Cyclops just wouldn't let go, and the reason is obvious.
Peter thought for a while and finally felt that Logan's words made sense. In an instant, he had another idea: was this feeling of gain and loss also part of Nar's interference, designed to prevent him from focusing on the possible battle?
Just as Peter was silent, Katie ran over: "Good afternoon, Spider-Man."
“Oh, good afternoon, Katie.” Peter said, noticing Katie’s X-Men suit, and sincerely praised her: “This uniform suits you very well, you are very suitable to be an X-Men.”
Katie smiled a little shyly: "Principal Scott said I could actually go live in Kenosha. But my parents don't see anything wrong with their daughter being a mutant, and I also want to help out. We saved the world together, right?"
"So, if there's a chance, when would be the next time?"
Peter was speechless for a moment, unsure whether to praise the girl's optimism and dedication or to say that it was better not to expect the end of the world.
"About that, maybe there will be a chance, but I need to leave New York for a vacation in the meantime."
Nar stated that Spider-Man's melodramatic quotes in the previous chapter had nothing to do with him, and that he was also a victim.
I'm experiencing some writer's block, so the second chapter will be a little later.
