Chapter 199 Hunting the Octopus
"Long time no see, Doctor. Do you really like the riverbed that much? Or is it some kind of new species of large freshwater octopus?"

"Shut up, Spider-Man!"

Doctor Octopus, possessed and enhanced by the symbiote, angrily extended his alloy tentacles toward Spider-Man. Otto Octavia, at this moment, felt an unparalleled sense of freedom. Looking at his limbs that could move again, he smiled happily, then reached out his hand toward Spider-Man, making a choking motion. The mechanical tentacles behind him followed swiftly, aiming directly at Spider-Man's neck.

However, devouring does not enhance the host's agility.

“I must say, Doctor, if you need to use your own gestures to control each of your tentacles, why don’t you just transform your limbs into tentacles?”

Dodging Doctor Octopus's tentacle attacks with agility, Spider-Man quickly closed in on him, only to have a web stick to his face: "Or have you discovered a new mathematical formula, four plus four equals four? Well, then you don't need this four plus four!"

But Doctor Octopus quickly found a whole new way to use his limbs. For example, he could use his hands instead of mechanical tentacles to tear the spider webs off his face—but this did not stop Spider-Man from getting in front of him and punching him in the face.

However, even Peter, who had become one with Venom, still made a dull thud after hitting Doctor Octopus's face. Peter couldn't help but shake his hand and subconsciously asked, "Why does it feel like a horror movie? Is your face made of titanium alloy?"

"I am invincible!"

Doctor Octopus, whose will had been amplified by the symbiote, roared and then swept Peter away with his mechanical tentacles. Peter, quick as a flash, used his webs to stick the remaining purple container to Agent Ward, who had just rushed in, and then slammed himself against the wall by the mechanical tentacles.

“Don’t worry about me, take the symbiote with you!” Peter hugged Doctor Octopus’s tentacle without a care in the world: “Don’t worry, this isn’t the first time I’ve fought an octopus—we didn’t have a symbiote last time.”

Ward nodded immediately, preparing to return to the S.H.I.E.L.D. submarine. However, as he carried the container, he glanced at the storage room and became puzzled: Weren't there supposed to be four symbiotes in total? Even including the one on Doctor Octopus, there were only three. Where did the other one go?
Without time to think, Ward rushed out of the lab, leaving Doctor Octopus and Spider-Man to continue the fight. Spider-Man grabbed Doctor Octopus's tentacle; this time was different from the last—Doctor Octopus, now possessed by the symbiote, was much stronger. Peter planned to grab Doctor Octopus's tentacle and throw him out, but then, something unexpected happened: Doctor Octopus's tentacle erupted with tremendous energy, turning the tables and flinging Spider-Man away.

Peter was shocked. He was almost certain that Doctor Octopus hadn't possessed such power before. Although his own strength had been inferior to the doctor's tentacles before, he hadn't had the Venom symbiote then, and his power had long since been greatly enhanced by Venom.

"It seems your new friend can not only enhance yourself, but also your tentacles—or he only enhanced your tentacles?"

Peter, who had just pried himself off the wall, shrugged and then asked about the whereabouts of the last symbiote: "So Doctor, it seems one of your friends is missing. What are they planning to do?"

"What were they planning to do?" This question seemed to jolt Otto awake. His four tentacles began to thrash wildly and dangerously. In the midst of this thrashing, the tentacles "accidentally" triggered a device, resulting in a violent sonic wave. Simultaneously, the "devouring" effect on Venom and Doctor Octopus caused a violent molecular instability. Venom, unable to withstand the high-intensity sonic waves, returned directly to Peter's body. Peter, after a period of helpless tremors, looked at the suffering Doctor and made a choice…

Increase the dose.

Since the venom had already taken refuge inside him, and Devourer had taken refuge inside Doctor Octopus, it would be like catching a turtle in a jar, making it even easier to catch. Peter simply braved the sound waves to reach the empty container, picked it up, and walked towards Doctor Octopus. At this moment, Devourer was already trembling incessantly, in immense pain. It hesitated a bit when it saw the jar in Peter's hand, but Peter decisively grabbed the symbiote on Doctor Octopus and pulled it out little by little, forcibly ripping Devourer off Doctor Octopus.

Under the vibration of the sound waves, the symbiotic relationship between the symbiote and the host became quite unstable. So, Devourer was gradually pulled off by Peter, stuffed into the container and locked up. Then Peter turned off the sound wave emitter and used spider silk to tie up Doctor Octopus.

"That's unexpected, Doctor. I thought you would put up a good fight."

Peter looked at this supervillain, who could be considered Spider-Man's nemesis in any universe, with great curiosity and asked with a hint of confusion, "Why did you surrender so easily? Does it have anything to do with what I said?"

“Of course, Spider-Man. After all, I’m still an Earthling.” Otto Octavia, panting heavily, looked at Peter. “You must inform the Avengers that these symbiotes may be involved in an alien invasion, and the Avengers must be prepared!”

?

Nobita, you're really out of the loop.

“We already know about this, Doctor. It’s admirable that you sacrificed yourself for others.” Peter said helplessly, scratching the back of his head. After a long moment of shock, Doctor Octopus looked at Spider-Man in disbelief: “You already know.”

“Yes, after all, I already have a symbiote friend, and he's a good guy. Besides, we've captured another symbiote, and we also know why these symbiotes came to Earth; the Avengers have already dealt with it. Now the only problem here is, where did your missing symbiote go? Can you tell us, Doctor?”

Doctor Octopus stood there dumbfounded, completely unable to understand what had happened, so Peter could only sigh helplessly.

"So what did I say? Hmm... Thank you for your help, Doctor."
