I'm working on Marvel's Spider-Man in American comics.

Chapter 195 Visiting the Holy of Holies

Chapter 195 Visiting the Holy of Holies
At 177A Black Street in Greenwich Village, Manhattan, stands a century-old three-story Victorian-style townhouse made of brownstone, featuring French Baroque architectural design and a duplex roof. The skylights on the roof bear strange grid-like patterns. Peter successfully landed on the top floor, the residence of Doctor Strange, the Sorcerer Supreme, who protects Earth.

The Holy of Holies.

Peter landed on the roof and reached out to open the door to the attic. His spider-sense went off at just the right moment. He turned around and saw Doctor Strange using his slingshot to open a portal and land behind him.

"Wang Gang waxed the floor, so you'd better not go in from here."

"Oh, uh, sorry."

“Don’t apologize, Spider-Man.” Strange landed on the ground. “If you’re asking about the time you tore open the rift in the multiverse, that was the choice of the Web of Fate, and I repaired the rift you tore in time, so there’s no big problem.”

“No, I’m here to ask you about something else,” Peter said, getting straight to the point. “S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers have discovered the symbiote god Knull, who was sealed on Earth.”

After staring at Peter silently for a full three seconds, Strange finally spoke his first words.

"What the hell?"

"Um, that's it..."

“No, I heard you. What I mean is…” Strange sighed helplessly, opened a portal, and beckoned Peter to follow: “Let’s talk in detail later. Come on in.”

"So, have we come to London from New York? Have we arrived at 221B Baker Street?"

“We’re still in Greenwich, just not through the main entrance. I’m the Sorcerer Supreme, not Sherlock Holmes.”

Strange, who didn't know why Spider-Man would connect him to Sherlock Holmes, snapped his fingers, and the two of them were instantly transported to the drawing room. As he led the way, Strange asked, puzzled, "There's a perception barrier spell around the Sanctum Sanctum. Unless you already know it exists, most people wouldn't notice it. How did you get in?"

Is this actually happening?

The two walked up to a pair of sofas. Peter looked at the small sofa behind him, sat down, and made up a reason for himself.

“I don’t know. I was just looking for you, so I searched all over Manhattan to see if I could find a house with a strange mark like the magic artifact on your chest. My spider sense went off, so I looked over and found it.”

Strange sighed. Well, it was all the choice of the web of fate. What else could he say?
Strange reached out and used his slingshot to open a portal, then put his hand inside. He waited for what seemed like Thor waiting for his hammer before opening it and saying, "...Nar, Nar, ah, found it. Records left by the Sorcerer Supreme from the sixth century AD."

"Did Northern Europe have books before the sixth century AD?"

“No, but Kamar-Taj is in the Himalayas, and the Tang Dynasty has books about it.” Strange flipped through the records in the book, seemingly trying to confirm whether Nal was under the jurisdiction of the Sorcerer Supreme, or whether Nal was a god.

But I'm sorry to say, Nal is indeed a god, and not a new god like Thor who arises from faith. Nal is an abstract entity, representing the "nothingness" of the universe, the darkness before creation. In other words, this is indeed within Doctor Strange's jurisdiction.

“The consciousness of this Void Lord is sealed within his creations. As long as he isn’t killed, his consciousness won’t return.” Strange roughly understood what had happened and looked at Peter: “So you’re worried that the creatures he created will awaken and cause even greater destruction?”

“A meteorite carrying symbiotes crashed to Earth. For decades, the U.S. military had been studying these symbiotes. But their real purpose was to release Nar.” Peter expressed his concerns: “Shortly after we discovered that the U.S. military was studying the symbiotes, one of them was captured by S.H.I.E.L.D. When S.H.I.E.L.D. started investigating how to locate them, he directly began sending signals, exposing the ancient symbiote that sealed Nar.”

Strange understood: what these guys were trying to do was awaken the symbiote dragon Grendel and let it wreak havoc on Earth, so that the Avengers and other heroes would be forced to destroy Grendel to protect the planet.

However, once Grendel is killed, Nar's consciousness, which had previously separated from the collective consciousness of his race, will return to the symbiote's collective consciousness network, thus returning to his body. At that time, the Avengers will essentially be releasing a powerful, cosmic-level abstract entity. Although it's true that if the sky falls, the tall ones will hold it up, and other advanced cosmic civilizations will be the first to suffer, the prerequisite is that they can actually kill Nar.

If we can't do that, the Earth will still be doomed.

Therefore, Grendel cannot die; that's the most basic requirement. Whether the symbiote dragon can be safely captured is another matter. This is why Peter came to Strange. As the Sorcerer Supreme, Strange undoubtedly understands better what the symbiote dragon truly is and how dangerous it is. And if he were to secretly help, it would likely be much safer.

Or it might be much more dangerous, but Peter had made up his mind. In any case, it was better than not having Strange at all.

Peter, who had been sitting in the Sanctuary for a while, was about to leave when Strange jumped up immediately after Peter left, went into the storeroom, and pulled out a huge globe to begin casting a spell.

Wang, who had just finished waxing the floor, came out and saw this scene. He walked over helplessly and said, "I just finished waxing the floor, Strange."

“I know, Your Majesty. I’m using the Sphere of Agamotto to observe the situation. Just now, a child said that S.H.I.E.L.D. and the Avengers have discovered the location where the Void Lord Knull is sealed and are planning to go and take a look. I have to keep an eye on them.”

Wang was stunned.

"Who?"

"Lord of Nothingness, Black-Clad Emperor, Living Being..."

“I know, I’ve spent more time in the library than you.” Wang nodded helplessly, then looked at Strange with considerable dissatisfaction: “You know, Strange. Before you became the Sorcerer Supreme, Earth never had any trouble. Since you became the Sorcerer Supreme, we’ve encountered all sorts of problems.”

Strange rolled his eyes at the king and continued his divination.

Marvel's pantheon is a complete mess, with Old Gods, New Gods, Great Old Ones (yes, like Cthulhu), Celestials, abstract entities, and a whole bunch of other nonsensical things beyond the divine realm.
Since I didn't write anything today, there might only be 15 updates tomorrow. I'll try to get back to the original plan of 19 or even 21 updates.
