Chapter 186 Nick Fury's Wrath

A large group of S.H.I.E.L.D. executives, Level 8 agents, and some Level 7 agents stood in front of Nick Fury's desk. Nick Fury's trusted confidant, Agent Sitwell, the bald-headed agent responsible for direct communication between him and other agents, was reporting the current situation to Fury. This bald-headed agent would later be pulled out of the car and thrown away by the Winter Soldier; for now, he was just an ordinary bald-headed guy.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. agents have sealed off the area around Roosevelt Island; no one can get in or out. We've reviewed the footage and verified the identity of the agent who became a symbiote, but..."

Nick Fury sighed helplessly: "Once the Pentagon hands over their experimental data, we'll know where that thing came from."

The atmosphere in the office suddenly became tense. Sitwell, slightly nervous, began, "Director, the Pentagon said... uh... the Pentagon said..."

Meanwhile, Maria Hill, the only Level 9 agent and Deputy Director of S.H.I.E.L.D., took over the conversation: "The Pentagon says that all the symbiotes have escaped from the research base at the bottom of the Hudson River. They have no research data to hand over to S.H.I.E.L.D. and refuse to cooperate with our investigation."

Everyone heard Nick Fury's helpless sigh. He covered his blindfolded eye with his hand, remained silent for a few seconds, and then began to call out names.

“Hill, Barton, Sitwell, and Coulson will stay.”

The others walked out with a sigh of relief. After everyone had left, they closed the door and waited outside, listening to Nick Fury's furious outburst from inside.

"We are S.H.I.E.L.D.! There's nothing we can't investigate! The Pentagon just says they're not going to investigate anymore?! When the hell did S.H.I.E.L.D. become like this?!"

Seeing Nick Fury roaring, both those being reprimanded in the office and those listening outside sensed something was terribly wrong. But Nick Fury's rage was far from over.

"Last month, the information about the residences of our newly recruited superhumans was leaked, but we still haven't figured out how the mistake happened! This month, the Pentagon is fucking shitting on S.H.I.E.L.D.'s head?! Are all the S.H.I.E.L.D. departments fucking useless?! Are all the S.H.I.E.L.D. branches fucking useless?! The source of the Soviet super-soldier serum at the Pentagon, and how Jim Hammond got to Southeast Asia, no one has been able to submit a report yet!"

"They're all fucking useless! Good-for-nothings! Graduates of MI6!"

"Sir, isn't saying this a bit too harsh on them..."

"I'll hurt your mother's head!"

After a sound like a vase shattering, followed by another moment of silence, Nick Fury's voice suddenly rang out in the hallway: "What are you all still doing here! Get out of here!"

A large group of prominent intelligence officials fled in panic. Only after confirming that no one was listening outside did Nick Fury clutch his head in anguish and begin assigning tasks.

“Hill, be ready to negotiate with the Pentagon immediately. If they issue any protests, sanctions, or anything else, send them all back.”

"Barton, get your team ready. If those newly recruited clowns at the Pentagon try to cause trouble, give them a good beating! Beat them to a pulp!" "Sitwell, coordinate with all national intelligence agencies within the S.H.I.E.L.D. framework, and notify all intelligence teams infiltrating national intelligence departments to steal all the intelligence they can."

As Fury spoke, he waved wearily. After everyone had left, only Agent Coulson remained in the same spot.

"Coulson, your 'Bus' squad, immediately halt all operations. Have your men ready to analyze what's so special about these damn bastards and see if you can find them."

Coulson placed his hands in front of him and nodded repeatedly.

"No problem, sir. There's only one thing: we don't have any samples. When the other side escaped, they took all the samples with them."

“We have him, we have Spider-Man.” Fury sighed. “It shouldn’t be too difficult to persuade him and the Spider-Man agents to join this operation.”

"Understood, sir."

Peter Parker was reflecting on the battle that had just taken place.

Most of the agents controlled by Whiplash did not die, except for the one he possessed and the two agents who were sucked into his body and turned into bullets. The others were unaffected.

Regardless, Nick Fury was undoubtedly enraged this time. A Pentagon lab organism had possessed a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent and led them to cause chaos at the Triple Crown headquarters. Nick Fury couldn't tolerate this, even though he knew perfectly well that S.H.I.E.L.D. was currently rife with Hydra agents and a host of other problems.

However, these things are not relevant to Peter for the time being. The other party does not know his true identity, but they will definitely find out that Spider-Man is active in New York. When he is in New York, he will undoubtedly encounter the symbiote called Whiplash.

The only thing that puzzled and alarmed him was that Lash wasn't released after Doctor Octopus developed a method to control it; it seemed to have escaped on its own. Did the other three symbiotes also escape? If so, based on Lash's name, the other three symbiotes should be Riot, Extremist, and Devourer. Originally, in the 616 universe of the comics, they were all Venom's offspring, but here they clearly weren't; they were simply of the same kind.

They are most likely trying to find the symbiotic dragon Grendel, who was knocked unconscious by Thor's hammer. But the problem is, not only do they not know where Grendel is in the Nordic region, but even Peter doesn't know. And since there is no such thing as mutual attraction between symbiotes, how are they supposed to find it?
He'll probably end up empty-handed and then come to New York to fight himself.

After thinking all the way back, he finally returned to the lounge and handed Cindy the ice cream cone he had brought back from the dilapidated cafeteria—the ice cream came from an automatic ice cream machine and, fortunately, had not been damaged in the battle.

"S.H.I.E.L.D. offers free cold drinks, and their cafeteria is even free and unlimited. I was wondering if Hulk would eat them out of business if he came to S.H.I.E.L.D. to freeload."

“Generally speaking, if the Avengers want to come to S.H.I.E.L.D. for a meal, we’ll have Stark pay for it.”

Phil Coulson walked into the lounge with a smile and looked at the two Spider-Men inside: "The plan has changed. I'll take you back to New York."
