Chapter 160 A Wonderful Day in New York

Chapter 160 A Beautiful Day in New York

Good morning, New York City! Yesterday's dead-man lottery... oh, sorry, wrong channel!

In the afternoon in New York, sunlight reflected off the glass facades of skyscrapers and onto Spider-Man, who was dressed in black. It was the second week of October, and everything seemed to have calmed down. There were no more stories as rushed as in September, and Peter had finally settled down.

He felt the wind pressure during freefall, and then, just before hitting the ground, he was launched into the air by a spider web, swinging high into the air. Not far away, a helicopter from the Daily Bugle was tracking the robbery that had just occurred.

"The Daily Bugle is broadcasting live that an Osborne Technologies security truck has been hijacked and police are pursuing the suspect."

"Osborne? So why is it always Osborne?!"

As Peter spoke, he quickly arrived at 15th Avenue in Manhattan. He saw a modified heavy truck speeding recklessly on the road. Several people were standing on the top of the truck. They used some kind of cutting device to cut open the top of the truck and crawled inside. A dozen or so police cars were chasing after them.

Good morning, Spider-Man!

Good morning, passersby!

Passersby shouted at him, and Peter responded. He then opened his glider and rushed towards the truck. He kicked a mercenary off the truck and launched a web. The mercenary flew out at high speed and landed on the web.

"Go to hell, Spider-Man!"

"What did you say? The wind is too strong?" Peter easily dodged another mercenary's rifle fire, tore the rifle from the man's hand with spider silk and stuck it to the top of the truck, then dodged another punch: "Then you should tell your friend to drive slower."

"what!!!"

The mercenary who was pushed off the truck by Spider-Man shouted for help, but luckily Peter had already launched a web to catch him. Then he jumped into the truck through the hole they had dug. Almost as soon as he entered, a barrage of gunfire erupted. It wasn't until the mercenaries had emptied their magazines that they saw a black shield that had stopped their fire. Spider-Man was actually unharmed.

Then, he stretched out his hands, and the symbiote instantly transformed into a huge biomass that pressed everyone against the interior wall of the carriage. After retracting the symbiote, they were firmly stuck to it.

“Sorry guys, your methods were for last month’s me, but this month’s me is completely different.” Peter shrugged, then looked at the electronic lock on the box that the terrorists were deciphering: “Let me see what you’re looking for. Ah, still dealing with this thing? First time seeing a box with a display screen and keyboard, huh? A new generation of individual soldier aerial combat platform… a flight glider? You’re looking for this?”

"None of your business, Spider-Man!"

“You’re right, buddy.” Peter smiled and walked down to the bottom of the hole, revealing a grin. “So, remember to tell the police what you’re doing!”

After saying that, amidst the sighs and groans of the terrorists, Spider-Man jumped out of the truck. He had one last thing to do: stop the super truck. He went to the driver's side and knocked on the driver's window.

"Hello? Bonjour?"

Upon seeing Spider-Man knocking on the window, the terrorist simply raised the rifle he had placed on the passenger seat, rolled down the window, aimed at Spider-Man, and pulled the trigger. Spider-Man dodged for a moment, then shot out a web to pull the rifle out and hold it in his hand: "Why aren't you saying anything? Are you shy, friend? Oh, sorry."

Peter, holding a rifle in one hand, shook his other hand to indicate that he had something to attend to: "Could I take this call? I have something urgent to attend to, sorry." "I'm going to kill you!"

Peter took out his phone and saw that it was Harry calling. He answered the phone, and Harry on the other end was obviously very excited: "My dad sent me a message saying that our secret base is complete, Peter, and now we're just waiting for you to come... Why is it so windy where you are?"

"I'm going for a drive outside!"

"A convertible? Wait, you don't have a driver's license." Harry suddenly realized, "Are you playing Spider-Man?"

“Yeah, hey, buddy, remember to turn the wheel to the right!” Peter tossed his rifle onto the roof of the truck and stuck it there. Then he grabbed the steering wheel with his right hand and steered the truck to change lanes to avoid crashing into the car in front of him. “Why can’t you guys avoid rush hour when you’re out robbing? You could at least squeeze onto the subway.”

The terrorist awkwardly pulled out a pistol from his waist and fired a series of shots in Spider-Man's direction, but Spider-Man quickly threw it out the window. Hearing the strong wind and gunshots, Harry simply asked, "Should I fire back later? You finish what you're doing first?"

“Uh, no need, I need to find a less congested road to stop this truck.” Peter said, jerking the steering wheel to prevent the truck from making a right turn that violated traffic rules. Taking advantage of Peter’s inconvenient hands, the terrorist threw a punch at his head, but Peter easily dodged it.

"There aren't many cars on that road ahead, I'll take care of it right away." After telling Harry, Peter finally let go of the poor steering wheel, did a backflip, and landed a few dozen meters in front of the heavy truck. Seeing this, the terrorists simply stepped on the gas, intending to kill Peter directly with the 100-ton truck.

Peter, now with one hand free, reached for the truck. In an instant, his arm swelled, and the biomass tentacles proliferated by the symbiote enveloped the entire front of the truck, forcibly bringing it to a stop.

Will your dad come?

“I’m afraid he’ll come.” Harry sighed, sounding rather unhappy. “How long do you think it will take you to get there?”

"Maybe less than half an hour? If nothing else happens on the way."

Peter hung up the phone, then used spider silk to tear down the truck door and hung the terrorist on a telephone pole. The passersby who had previously dodged to the side reappeared from all corners, and the police cars that had been chasing them finally arrived.

The team was still led by Sheriff George Stacy, a typical example of someone in the NYPD with a low-ranking position but who does all the dirty work.

"Thanks for your help, Spider-Man. We really wouldn't have been able to stop this thing without you."

“It’s nothing, Sheriff. I just think it might be time to go back to being a friendly neighbor to New York.”

Sheriff Stacy was a little confused after hearing this: "Do you have any vacation plans?"

Peter shot out a spider web, hooked himself onto the building, and gave a salute.

"Perhaps it will happen someday, Sheriff. I'm off!"
