Chapter 151 The Spider God Descends

On the second floor of Tonya's auto repair shop in Hammerfall, Peter, Deadpool, Hawkeye, and Hawkeye's daughter Ashley were discussing what had just happened. Logan, after killing the Hulk, went home to avoid other surviving Hulks; he didn't really want to get involved in superhero matters, so let him be.

Hawkeye only discovered that the guy who was killed by the Spider-Man-themed War Machine outside was Bullseye when he was helping his ex-wife clean up the scraps of flesh outside. Bullseye picked up Bullseye's prosthetic eye (the Death Soldier from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), washed it, and played with it thoughtfully in his hand.

Now, Peter is complaining about Deadpool's behavior earlier.

“What are you thinking! I’ve already removed the arc reactor in his chest, we could have kept him here for questioning!” Peter was truly enraged: “That organization called the Spider Legion is undoubtedly the key, even the cause, of the Web of Fate’s tremor, and then you killed him with a single blow.”

"You never said that guy was someone to protect. On the contrary, you've always thought your multiverse granddaughter was the key. So I'm protecting your precious granddaughter, okay?!" Deadpool roared back with just as much volume. "Why would I protect a rapper with spider camouflage, who might even be a Skrull inside!"

"If I wanted to kill him, why would I dismantle his reactor? Don't you understand?!"

"You never kill anyone, okay? Even if you wanted to kill someone, you've never done it! So how am I supposed to know you wanted to keep him alive!"

Peter felt a headache coming on; his spider-sense was still buzzing, though not as intensely as before. There was definitely something wrong with that War Spider; otherwise, it was impossible for a Spider-Man version of War Machine to push his spider-sense to such an extreme. But the opponent was dead, and not only dead, its corpse had gone back to report. Who knew if that was why his spider-sense was buzzing so much?

Ashley Barton had no idea what was going on. Still a young, energetic girl, she rubbed her hair. Yesterday, she had beaten up the chubby boy who owed her protection money, and she had beaten up both the boy and the person who beat him up. Today, she was told that the president's Grand Marshal Bullseye had died in front of her, and that her grandfather from another world and his companions had helped her good-for-nothing father kill the Hulk.

She paused for a long while, then asked her father, who was playing with his prosthetic eye, without any hope, "Did they come for me?"

"So that's it. Now it sounds like you came for the person who's looking for you."

Having witnessed Spider-Man's powerful attack that destroyed the enemy's Arc Reactor, Ashley told Peter everything about the Web Corps, but it was clear she didn't know much herself. However, after hearing their lines and appearance, she was fairly certain that one of their creators was a Spider-Man version of Deadpool. And they were probably not a team of heroes, but rather a group dedicated to helping the ambitious Spider-Totem conquer various worlds.

What else?
If the other side sees the corpse of the returning War Spider, will they choose to retaliate in kind, or simply disappear without a trace?

Peter soon found out.

The spider senses were roaring through Peter's brain like never before. His head was throbbing with pain, and everything in front of him was blurring. But at the same time, he seemed to see a giant spider web, which was shaking incessantly.

It was the web of fate itself trembling, as if... as if...

An enormous spider was walking on a delicate web, so much so that the web could not bear the weight. As the giant spider drew closer, the vibrations of the web became more and more obvious.

Peter, in agony, stood up and knelt on the ground. Ashley, also in agony, collapsed onto the bed. Although her abilities were not as outstanding as Peter's, and her spider-sense was not as sensitive, she too was experiencing immense pain.

"Are you alright, little spider?"

"Ashley! Ashley, how are you?!"

The two men each showed concern for their own spider totems, and Peter persevered and stood up.

The pain has lessened.

Something has appeared.

Peter dashed out of the room and onto the main street of Hammerfall, the most superhero-filled place in the wasteland, with all sorts of superhero merchandise displayed everywhere. In the very center of the street stood Thor's hammer, which had fallen there when Thor died. He paid no attention to the young man in the Iron Spider suit, who wasn't wearing a mask. Behind him, Deadpool, Hawkeye, and Ashley, who had come to join the fun, followed Peter's gaze, looking up at the sky.

They saw the spiderweb, starting from a single point and spreading across the entire sky. The spiders could no longer sense it, and even more terrifyingly, their senses vanished; Peter felt no danger whatsoever. Only when the dense spiderweb completely exploded did it tear the sky above Hammerfall apart, revealing a massive, scarlet scar. Within the scar, countless afterimages flickered, and then a person floated out from within it.

It was a black man dressed in the traditional clothing of a West African tribe. With a wave of his hand, the spider web gathered up, stitching the sky shut, and then he landed in front of Thor's hammer. Between him and Peter were the ordinary citizens who were numbly praying to the hammer of Thor, begging for the gods to descend to earth.

“I once challenged the King of Gods with a lie and brought the story to the mortal world.”

"I made the world believe that I am the face of my Heavenly Father, and by using lies I drove the gods out of my universe, and thus I became the only God in the entire universe, a God who conquered his own universe."

Peter put on the mask of the steel spider, and after the built-in database analyzed the other party's words, Peter stated the conclusion of the analysis: "You are Anansi, the god of lies and stories in Ghana."

"It is indeed I, the clan chief."

Anansi smiled politely and bowed: "I formally invite you to join our Spider Legion. You possess the power to freely traverse the web of life and destiny, which is exactly what we urgently need. In exchange, we can provide you with the power to protect your universe and your family. Furthermore, we can also tell you a secret."

"A group of monsters known as the Inheritors are preying on spider totems in various multiverses, while the Spider Web Legion is able to protect the spider totems."

“Conquest?” Peter suddenly retorted. “Is this how you win people over?”

"Yes, is there anything strange about it?"

"If you're recruiting and not afraid of the successor, what are you preparing for?" Peter asked tentatively. "The Hive?"

Anansi unexpectedly fell silent.

It really is a beehive...

Anansi pondered for a moment, finally preparing to speak, but before he could finish, a massive steel beam slammed into him, sending him flying. Subsequently, almost the entire metal structure of Hammerfall was torn apart and lifted into the air.

A withered, emaciated old man floated in mid-air, glaring angrily at the god who had come from another world.

Get out of my territory!

Oops, I forgot to schedule the posting...

Anansi is the son of Enamé, the father of the gods in Ashanti mythology. Some legends also say that Anansi is one of Enamé's incarnations, transforming into a spider and weaving the entire world into its web. In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Anansi first appeared in *Spider-Man: Fairy Tales* #2, from Earth 7082. His world has no superheroes; it is a purely mythological world. He is the first spider totem recognized by Marvel.

This book has been heavily modified, with his power level roughly equivalent to Thor in the main universe. His method of conquering his own universe, as he himself stated, was severing the connection between the gods and the world, since there are no other superheroes in his universe anyway. (The concept of a "God of Stories" is truly an overpowered existence in the Marvel universe.)

The hive PP refers to at the end of this chapter is not the Hydra swarm or AIM. The author mentioned it in a group chat, or some hardcore fans of American comics should know who he is referring to.

The Spider-Legion archetype serves as a setup for subsequent stories in the Spider-Verse. Because American comics are often riddled with poor code, various problems arise. For example, Moron can eat his way across the entire multiverse for decades without Spider-Man noticing anything…
