Being a knight is not easy

Chapter 353 Black Robe 2

Chapter 353 Black Robe 2
Robin nodded and tossed her a piece of candy. "Once the intelligence is confirmed, I'll make my move tonight. Go back and wait for good news!"

Robin's movements were swift and decisive; he was full of confidence in the intelligence.

The candy arced through the air, and the boy caught it nimbly. For the boy, the candy was not just a reward, but also Robin's recognition of him.

After catching the candy, the boy bowed to Robin and then quickly turned and left.

His figure quickly disappeared at the end of the street, leaving Robin standing there in deep thought.

Alina stepped forward and asked softly, "Robin, are we really going to have to deal with so many people? Who is this Baron Carbon? Why is he hosting this banquet for so many people?" Her eyes were filled with worry, after all, the other side's lineup looked very powerful.

Robin looked at Alina and smiled slightly: "Alina, don't worry. This Baron Carbon is the leader of a small power in Middle-earth. He must have ulterior motives for inviting these people to a banquet."

Our goal is to infiltrate his plan and seize what we want. As for the issue of numbers, we have our own solutions.

Wind Chime rubbed her hands excitedly beside her, "Robin, I can't wait! So many prey, tonight is going to be exciting!" Her eyes sparkled with excitement, without a trace of fear.

Robin glanced at Wind Chime and shook his head slightly: "Wind Chime, don't underestimate them. Although we have the intelligence advantage, these people are not so easy to deal with. We still need to prepare properly."

So Robin, along with Alina and Wind Chime, began preparing for tonight's operation.

They found a secluded spot and checked their weapons and equipment. Meanwhile, Robin was mentally rehearsing all the possible scenarios that might occur that night to ensure everything went smoothly.

Late at night, outside Baron Carbone Castle. Moonlight spilled across the ancient castle, casting patches of shadow, and a mysterious and tense atmosphere permeated the surroundings.

There were also four patrol squads of ten men each, each led by two official knights.

Their footsteps echoed in the silent night, and their armor occasionally made a soft clinking sound.

The patrolmen watched their surroundings warily, unaware that danger was about to strike.

Robin gestured for Wind Chime to begin, and Wind Chime nodded slightly, her eyes focused. She gently waved her hands, chanting incantations, and cast a massive illusionary barrier that enveloped the entire castle.

As she moved, a faint light emanated from her hand, rapidly spreading outwards like a giant, invisible net, enveloping the castle and its surrounding area.

The four patrol teams unknowingly walked into the outer area, and all four teams gathered together at the same time.

Their meticulous patrol route was disrupted by the illusion barrier, and what they saw was a false image created by the wind chimes.

They perceived themselves as still on normal patrol, unaware that they had deviated from their original route.

One of the knights immediately realized they were under some kind of illusion or witchcraft and was about to shout a warning.

His eyes suddenly widened, and his mouth opened before he could utter a sound.

A cough sounded, and Robin suddenly appeared behind them: "You can shout until you're hoarse, but no one will hear you."

Robin's voice sounded particularly cold in the quiet night.

He crossed his arms and watched silently as the patrolmen were surrounded. The patrolmen were inside the soundproof barrier created by the wind chimes.

Within this barrier, sound cannot travel out; those outside cannot hear what is happening inside, and those inside cannot call for help.

The patrolmen stared at Robin in horror, their faces filled with tension and despair. They gripped their weapons tightly, unsure how to deal with this sudden enemy.

Robin paced slowly, his gaze sweeping over each patrolman as if scrutinizing his prey. "You don't need to be so tense. As long as you behave, I might consider letting you die a little easier." His words, like a cold wind, pierced the hearts of each patrolman.

The patrol members looked at each other, knowing they were in dire straits.

But as knights, their sense of honor made them unwilling to surrender so easily. One of the older knights mustered his courage and said to Robin, "Who are you? Why did you attack Baron Carbon's castle? Do you know the consequences of your actions?"

Robin sneered, "Consequences? I'm not worried about any consequences. As for who I am, you won't need to know for a long time." After saying that, his eyes became even colder, and a powerful sense of oppression emanated from him.

At that moment, Alina also quietly appeared behind Robin, holding an exquisite dagger in her hand, her gaze equally determined as she looked at the patrol members.

Fengling stood at a distance, maintaining the illusion barrier and the soundproof barrier. There was a hint of excitement in her eyes, after all, this was a demonstration of the results of her abilities.

"Matt, break out in the opposite direction later, we'll cover you," the older knight said to the youngest. His voice was firm and steady, and despite being in dire straits, he was still trying to preserve a glimmer of hope for the team.

They are certain to face a life-or-death situation in this battle, but Matt is the youngest and most promising knight on the team, and he must fight for his chance of survival.

Matt was about to refuse when the older knight roared, "This is an order!" His eyes were filled with unquestionable authority.

At this critical moment, he would not allow Matt any hesitation.

“I’m done!” Robin slowly drew his Tang sword. The moment the blade left its sheath, a cold glint flashed in the moonlight.

Robin's eyes were cold and ruthless; he showed no pity whatsoever. In his eyes, these patrolmen were merely stumbling blocks on his path.

"Go!" The older knight led the charge. He raised his weapon and shouted as he rushed toward Robin, trying to sacrifice his life to create an opportunity for Matt to break through.

The other patrol members followed him without hesitation, their faces showing a willingness to die for their cause.

Matt turned and ran.

He walked quickly, his heart filled with guilt towards his companions.

He knew that running away might mean losing his comrades-in-arms forever, but he also understood that he had to survive and not let their sacrifice go to waste. He had to report to Baron Carbon immediately, a legendary knight, who, if fast enough, might be able to save some of his companions.

Matt reluctantly turned his head to look, and the next second he was so frightened that his face turned pale.

He witnessed a chilling scene.
