Game of Thrones: I am Dothraki, not a barbarian
Chapter 198 Watching Fireworks
Chapter 198 Watching Fireworks
On the way, Serio walked in front, with four soldiers following behind, carrying large piles of armor and complaining about how heavy the equipment was.
“Lord Serio,” a soldier gasped, “could we stop and rest? This armor is incredibly heavy.”
"We're almost there, just hang in there a little longer," Celio said without turning his head.
Just then, Oberon suddenly quickened his pace and walked to Serio's side.
“Lord Serio, I forgot to thank you earlier,” Oberon said respectfully, extending his right hand.
Serio reached out and shook his hand. "No need to be so polite. I will do my best to fulfill the general's orders..."
Before he could finish speaking, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his palm.
A cold glint flashed between Oberyn's fingers; it was the poison needle on his ring, its tip coated with a potent venom extracted from the glands of the Dornisha snake.
"you……!!"
Serio's eyes widened, wanting to speak, but the toxins in his body had already begun to take effect.
Dorne venom is adept at attacking the nervous system; it is extremely fast, and anyone touched by it will surely die.
Serio felt a tightness in his throat, as if someone was choking him, making it difficult to breathe, and his body began to convulse uncontrollably.
"Sir! What's wrong?" A soldier who was closest noticed the abnormality and was about to shout a warning.
Just then, several figures rushed out of the darkness.
Rahalo pounced on the nearest soldier with lightning speed, covering his mouth with one hand and slashing his neck with a dagger in the other. Blood gushed out, and the man fell straight down without uttering a word.
Galan, Dazhuang, and Lazar acted almost simultaneously, each taking down the other three soldiers. Their movements were swift and decisive; none of them had time to cry for help.
The five people fell to the ground almost at the same time, and the scene quickly fell silent.
Then, more figures emerged from the darkness.
Lahalo was followed by more than twenty warriors of the Shield of Pentos, each of them fully armed, with longswords drawn and crossbows cocked, exuding a murderous aura!
"Have you figured it out?" Rahalo asked.
“Hmm,” Oberon twirled his ring, and the poison needle vanished in an instant. “It’s in the armory’s cellar!”
Garland walked to Serio's body and began to remove his purple Braavos army officer's robe.
“The size is perfect,” Garland said, quickly getting dressed. He was already handsome, but the officer’s uniform made him look even more imposing, enough to fool anyone in the night.
In the original story, after Renly's death, Garland wore his stag horn helmet and charged into Stannis's army three times, causing the enemy to crumble at his feet. Today, he's essentially playing himself.
Oberon then took the gold token from Serio's inner pocket and handed it to Garan. "Remember, you are now General Ferro's new adjutant."
“Understood,” Garland nodded.
“Lazar,” Rahalo and the others also took off their soldiers’ uniforms and put them on, “you take ten men to dispose of the bodies and stay on the perimeter to keep watch. The rest of you come with me to the armory.”
After assigning their respective tasks, the group headed towards the armory.
The moonlight was dim, campfires flickered in the distance, and the footsteps of patrolling soldiers could be faintly heard.
The armory was brightly lit, and a dozen guards were vigilantly looking around. When they saw the man in the purple uniform approaching, the captain of the guard came forward to greet him.
"Halt!" The guard captain raised his spear. "Who are you? I've never seen you before."
Garland remained calm. "I am Garland Prestan, the new adjutant. I need to check the warehouse situation."
"A newcomer?" The guard captain frowned. "I haven't heard of a new adjutant taking office." "This is the general's token," Garan said, holding up the golden token. "General Ferro has appointed me to assist in military affairs and oversee the camp's defenses!"
The captain of the guard carefully examined the token and then looked at Garan's officer's robe.
"The token has been verified, but the vault is currently sealed. Rules are rules, and you cannot enter!"
"How dare you disobey the general's orders?" Garan roared. "A great battle is about to begin, and we need to check the quantity of weapons in the warehouse. The general is waiting!"
Lahalo stood to the side, secretly gripping the hilt of his sword; if negotiations failed, he would have no choice but to force his way in.
The captain of the guard hesitated for a moment, but ultimately gave in.
The token and officer's robe were genuine, and he dared not risk disobeying the general's orders.
"Okay, but you need to be quick."
“Of course,” Garland secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
The group swaggered into the armory, and the soldiers on night duty did not object when they saw the adjutant leading a group to inspect the equipment.
"Get out," Garland ordered coldly. "I need to inventory important items, and no one is to disturb me!"
"Yes, sir!" The soldiers hurriedly retreated upon hearing this.
Soon, only Lahalo and his group remained in the vast armory.
"Your Highness," Rahalo whispered, "where is the wildfire?"
"This way!" Oberon led them quickly toward the cellar entrance.
Lahalo and the others lifted the heavy iron plate, and a pungent odor wafted out. Inside the cellar were more than fifty neatly arranged earthenware jars, each as thick as an adult's waist.
Upon opening the seal, the green liquid swayed slightly inside the container. If it were to come into contact with even the slightest spark, not only would they be destroyed, but the entire warehouse would be razed to the ground.
"How do we detonate it?" Garland asked.
Lahalo had already prepared the time-delay fuse, all made from materials he had gathered from various places.
Hemp rope soaked in horse oil and then coated with pine resin becomes a time-delay fuse. It burns stably; a foot-long piece of hemp rope can burn for five minutes.
He made a ten-foot-long fuse, giving them almost an hour to escape.
However, there are still soldiers here. Even if the armory is blown up, it won't cause any serious damage to the Braavos people. He doesn't plan to spend an hour running away. Instead, he plans to detonate the warehouse first and then cause a huge disturbance!
To increase the success rate of the detonation, Lahalo cut the rope into four pieces, giving them only fifteen minutes to escape the blast radius.
He carefully placed one end of the fuse into the cellar, leaving the other end on the ground.
"Everyone back off," Rahalo warned, casually lighting a tinderbox. The orange flame began to burn slowly along the rope, making a soft hissing sound.
"Go!" Rahalo ordered, and as he reached the door, Garan waved to the guards: "Mission accomplished, continue your vigilance!"
"Yes, sir!" The guards returned to their posts. Unbeknownst to them, the countdown to death had already begun!
Seeing that no one was paying attention to them, Lahalo and his group immediately took off running, crossing the military camp and returning to the Seventh Battalion to find their horses. Once the warehouse area exploded, they would begin their next operation.
Time passed second by second, and suddenly, a deafening explosion ripped through the night sky.
The tinder in the cellar finally burned to the bottom, and the moment the flames touched the wildfire, the whole world was illuminated by a green light!
boom!
The explosion was far more powerful than imagined. More than fifty canisters of wildfire exploded simultaneously, and the shockwave swept through the entire camp like an earthquake. The armory was instantly reduced to nothing, and a huge fireball shot into the sky, turning half the sky into an eerie bluish-green.
Biraharo's knock-off Molotov cocktails are far more powerful than anyone else's.
