Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 302 The Flying Car
Chapter 302 The Flying Car
For some reason, Fred and George seemed particularly keen on picking up Harry and insisted on going with Mr. Weasley.
Unable to resist their persistent requests, Mr. Weasley, who was in a hurry, had no choice but to agree.
He glanced at the time, then looked at Siron beside him, "Kid, are you coming with us to pick up Harry?"
“Arthur, Sirius is a guest!” Mrs. Weasley frowned in displeasure.
“It’s alright.” Siren quickly waved his hand and said, “But Mr. Weasley, how do you plan to get to Little Huiglin?”
“Of course, we’ll use the fastest method,” Mr. Weasley said. “I asked my colleagues at the Department of Magical Transportation to temporarily connect Harry’s aunt and uncle’s fireplace to the Floo Network.”
"Although it's only half an hour, as long as we act quickly, it'll be enough to bring Harry back."
As he spoke, he glanced at his watch again. "Oh, is it already five o'clock? Ron, Fred, George, we have to get going. Let's hurry to the fireplace."
“Wait a minute, Mr. Weasley,” Hillen interrupted him, “There’s something I need to say. Many Muggles have already sealed their fireplaces shut, so even if you get there, you might not be able to get out.”
"What did you say?" Mr. Weasley stopped in his tracks, looking at Siron with a puzzled expression. "Why would they seal up a perfectly good fireplace?"
"Because there are more convenient and less troublesome electric stoves."
"Really?" Mr. Weasley's eyes lit up, and his voice became excited. "You mean it's electric? Does it have a plug?"
"That's not the point..." Xilun muttered.
He knew Mr. Weasley was obsessed with all sorts of Muggle items, especially electrical appliances, but he never imagined he could be this fascinated.
Shouldn't we be thinking about how to bring Harry back now?
Just then, Ron and his friends arrived, having waited too long for Mr. Weasley.
"Dad, you were just urging him to come, but why haven't you come yet?" Ron asked.
“I’m sorry, but there’s a new problem now. FlooNet might not work,” Mr. Weasley said.
He chose to believe Siron and repeated what the two of them had just said.
“Speaking of which, it seems our fireplace is sealed off too,” Hermione said.
"Why? Aren't you cold in winter?" Ron asked.
“Dad got a new electric stove,” Hermione explained. “Electric stoves are more efficient, safer, and more environmentally friendly, and the house is much cleaner too.”
"Thermal...efficiency?" Ron blinked blankly. "What's that?"
Simply put, electric stoves are warmer.
"Ah, I see." Ron suddenly realized, then frowned and questioned, "Since you knew, why didn't you say so sooner? If it weren't for Siron, we would have made a wasted trip!"
“I don’t know anything about Harry’s family,” Hermione said irritably. “Not every Muggle family has an electric stove.”
“Well… that’s not quite right.” Xiren shook his head. “Actually, we can solve this problem by blowing open the sealed fireplace. A simple blasting spell will do.”
“No, that would be too impolite.” Mr. Weasley shook his head and said thoughtfully, “If that’s the case, we’ll have to think of another way.”
“How about Apparition?” Siren offered his suggestion. “Have the Reversal of Accidents team help beforehand. If any Muggles see it, have them use the Oblivion Charm.”
“No need for that. I can use the Oblivion Charm myself,” Mr. Weasley said. “But with Apparition, I can only take one person with me.”
“Let’s think of another way,” Fred said before he could even speak. “There must be another way to get Harry.”
“For example, when we drive ourselves.” George turned to look out the window. He had seen it before; in the corner of the yard, there was a very old Ford Anglia, the one that Mr. Weasley had magically modified so it could fly.
In their second year, because they passed through the closed platform on time and boarded the train, Ron naturally no longer needed to secretly drive to Hogwarts, so the Ford Anglia was fortunate enough to remain.
“This…” Mr. Weasley hesitated.
He really wanted to drive, but he had to consider Mrs. Weasley's opinion.
Two years ago, the children drove this car to pick up Harry once, and she was furious that time. If it happened again, it's hard to say whether that car would still be there.
“Molly…” Mr. Weasley began cautiously.
“No, Arthur, no.” Mrs. Weasley shook her head sternly. “We all know what you did to that car. If anyone sees it, you’ll be expelled from the Ministry of Magic!”
“No one will see it, I swear,” Mr. Weasley said. “I made the car invisible; no one else will be able to see it.”
“That won’t do either, it’s too risky!” Mrs. Weasley insisted.
"Mom!" Fred suddenly said, "Harry is still waiting for us to pick him up!"
“Yes, Mom.” George rubbed his eyes hard, making them red.
"Harry said in the letter that his Muggle cousin was on a diet and the whole family had to eat very little food with him."
"He hasn't had a proper meal in a month..."
"They've probably all lost weight from starvation,"
"He must be desperately waiting for us to save him..."
To be honest, Fred and George knew Mrs. Weasley better.
With the two working in tandem, Mrs. Weasley went from hesitation to compromise in less than a minute.
His only requirement was that Mr. Weasley must drive.
No one would disagree with this.
Mr. Weasley suppressed the slight upturn of his lips and strode towards the parking lot, with the others quickly following behind.
However, Siron did not go with them; he was more interested in the Burrow than picking up Harry.
Although the people he knew best have all left, Bill and Charlie are still here.
After Mr. Weasley left, Bill showed him around the rest of the Burrow, including the old ghoul in the attic.
This magical creature likes to hide in dark, damp places, and its appearance is rather indescribable; its skin is pale and looks sticky, and it has a pair of fangs.
However, despite their unfriendly name and appearance, they mainly feed on small insects such as spiders, moths, and foxes, and occasionally eat leftovers such as potato peels.
In addition, their unique appearance can also serve as gatekeepers, used to scare away curious Muggles.
Therefore, before the advent of Muggle banishment spells, many wizarding families kept ghouls at home as a kind of alternative pet.
However, very few wizards do this nowadays.
