Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker

Chapter 297 I still like your unruly look

Chapter 297 I still like your unruly look
Kreacher didn't know what it felt like to be under the Imperius Curse, but it must be similar to what he was feeling now.

Listening to Xilun's words, it felt its mind go blank and its ears were ringing, unable to hear anything.

He didn't even know how he took the locket out. When he came to his senses, the thing that had become his nightmare was already in Xilun's hands.

"So, this is Slytherin's locket?" Siron looked the box, which was not much bigger than the Golden Snitch, over and over, his eyes full of curiosity.

In terms of appearance alone, this thing is really beautiful. It is made entirely of gold, and when you hold it in your hand, you can clearly feel an ancient and heavy texture.

The lid is adorned with a serpentine 'S' logo, entirely composed of sparkling emeralds.

The locket trembled slightly in Xilun's hand, like a tiny heart, but as time went by, the "heartbeat" became faster and faster.

He heard soft murmurs in his ear, as if someone was whispering in his ear.

As for what was said, Xilun didn't hear it clearly.

Because the murmurs quickly turned into painful screams... Tom made a similar scream the first time he was stabbed by the wizard's chess piece with the tip of a sword.

However, that voice was much worse than Tom's.

...The soul fragments in this locket are insane; they actually dared to use Legilimency on him?
Even Severus Snape doesn't dare look at Siren's memories anymore... You learn from your mistakes.

The soul fragment in the locket has also learned its lesson, but unfortunately, it hasn't learned its lesson.

"Did you notice something too?" Xiren muttered to herself. "If I could, I really wouldn't want to damage such a beautiful locket, but I can't..."

Before he finished speaking, a serpentine fang shaped like a scimitar appeared in Xilun's hand.

The basilisk's fangs: When the basilisk wreaked havoc at Hogwarts, several of its fangs were broken by Hagrid and Fluffy, and Sirius picked up a few as souvenirs.

He originally wanted to make the snake fangs into the core of the staff, but he couldn't find suitable material for the staff body, so he never started.

It just comes in handy now.

The next second, the snake's fang pierced directly into the 'S' shaped pattern on the locket.

The locket began to tremble violently, and streams of black things emerged from the places where the snake's fangs had pierced them; some floated in mid-air, while others permeated the surrounding area.

Soon, the black things formed a blurry human figure, roaring and screaming at Xilun.

Xilun has been waiting for this moment.

With a gentle wave of his wand, a bright blue unicorn instantly appeared in the dimly lit room.

Without needing any prompting from Xilun, the unicorn, already familiar with the business, immediately locked onto the black figure in mid-air upon its appearance—a being that seemed to be the embodiment of all evil.

Without any hesitation, head bowed, charge... the unicorn pierced into the black mist like a sharp sword.

With a piercing, long scream, the black mist dissipated, and the locket fell to the ground with a thud, breaking in two.

The unicorn turned back, a piece of cloth-like material now adorning its long horn. It floated gently in the air as it moved, and then disappeared into the sky with it.

The room fell dark again.

But no one cares.

Kreacher stared in disbelief at the locket lying in two on the ground, feeling as if he were dreaming.

It tried everything—cutting with a knife, burning with fire, smashing with stones—but nothing could destroy it. And yet, it was destroyed by a single sharp tooth.
With slightly trembling hands, Kreacher picked up the pieces from the ground.

The familiar feeling told it that this was the one that Master Regulus had given it, and that the wizard hadn't replaced it with a fake halfway through.

Tears welled up again, and Kreacher sat on the ground, sobbing uncontrollably. This left Siron, who wanted the locket back, momentarily speechless.

Should it be given to Kreacher again?
Impossible. The moment that thought popped into his head, Xilun dismissed it.

Putting aside the significance of the Slytherin locket itself, which is made of gold, Siron wouldn't be so extravagant as to give it to a house-elf as a keepsake.

Although this thing originally belonged to Kreacher, Kreacher belonged to Sirius Black.

And then, through legitimate means, Xilun acquired the locket from Sirius. After all this, the ownership of the item became much clearer.

Fortunately, Kreacher had no intention of keeping it as a souvenir. After crying for more than half an hour, he returned the locket fragments to Siron.

In fact, Xilun was overthinking it.

Kreacher had been tormented by the locket for over a decade, so why would he want to see it?

However, it still secretly hid a small section of the broken chain.

After all, this was the last thing Regulus gave it, so leaving it a little bit was a way of remembering it.

Siren saw it too, but he didn't say anything, he just casually took the locket fragment that Kreacher handed him.

Even if it gets broken, it's still made of gold and feels heavy in your hand.

Compared to before, the faint heartbeat was gone, and the locket was now just a damaged piece of valuable art.

If one were to encounter a skilled alchemist, there might be a chance to restore it to its original state.

Unfortunately, Sirius didn't know any of the famous alchemists; he only knew Dumbledore.

That's fine... Dumbledore should be happy to help, but only if Sheryl can come up with a suitable excuse to explain the origin of the Slytherin locket.

"Never mind, we'll see when the time comes." Xiren shook his head, no longer thinking about how to fix the locket.

He got what he wanted, and it went much more smoothly than he had imagined.

Before this, Siron had always thought he was going to have a direct confrontation with Kreacher, after all, this house-elf didn't seem friendly at all.

Xilun had no idea that Regulus held such a high position in its heart. Without even verifying what Regulus said, it took out the locket in a daze.

“Well then, see you next time, Kreacher,” Siren said, and then prepared to leave.

He needs to think carefully about where to use this newly acquired "cane core" and what material to pair it with for the cane shaft.

This marks the third time Xiren has obtained a fragment of Voldemort's soul. This thing is different from other staff cores; it is extremely malleable. That's how the flying Horcrux was created.

As for how to use it or what to make it into, Xilun hadn't figured it out yet.

But he wasn't in a hurry; the most important thing now was the upcoming grand event.

"Wait a minute, sir..."

Seeing that Xilen was about to leave, Kreacher hurriedly ran over, insisting on expressing his gratitude.

This time it was much more polite, addressing him as "sir" repeatedly, making Siren think he had entered Hogwarts' kitchen.

Looking at the respectful Kreacher, he couldn't help but say, "Actually, I still prefer your previous unruly self."
