Chapter 271 Vacation
Thanks to their outstanding performance in the Quidditch Cup, Gryffindor ultimately defeated Slytherin by a narrow margin of two points, winning the House Cup for the third consecutive year.

What's even more interesting is that the night before, two Slytherin students had just been penalized three points for shoving and fighting in the hallway and shouting in front of Filch.

Indeed, during this period before the end of the semester, the professors were busy grading papers, and Filch, without anyone to back him up, would be more restrained and wouldn't deliberately cause trouble.

But those people didn't restrain themselves at all in front of him, which was a bit too arrogant.

He walked ahead, and they shouted and yelled behind him, as if they were deliberately provoking him, as if they were afraid he wouldn't hear them.

Could Filch tolerate this? Of course not, so he grabbed them and took them straight to Professor McGonagall's office, which was the nearest one.

Professor McGonagall, busy with holiday arrangements, couldn't be bothered with such a trivial matter. She casually deducted three points from their names as punishment, and also inquired about Filch's ear.

He had dealt with too many roaring letters a few days ago, which caused him to lose some hearing... Fortunately, it wasn't serious, and Madam Pomfrey prescribed him a potion, saying he would recover completely within a few days.

However, now that Filch has caught the student making a loud noise in the hallway, things are naturally fine.

But it was precisely these three points that were deducted that turned Granfend, who was originally in second place, into the champion, something that even Professor McGonagall herself probably did not expect.

Otherwise, given her personality, she probably wouldn't have deducted points, but would have chosen another form of punishment.

Fortunately, Professor McGonagall didn't know.

This also means that the end-of-term party will be held in gold and red, and the Gryffindor table will be the liveliest, with everyone celebrating. Fred and George even said they would give Filch a gift to thank him for his help.

As for what the gift is, only Filch himself probably knows.

……

The next morning, everyone left the castle on time and boarded the train back to King's Cross Station.

“I went to see Professor McGonagall this morning,” Hermione told them in the carriage. “Just before breakfast, I decided not to attend Muggle studies or fortune-telling. That way, I can have a normal class schedule.”

“You should have done this a long time ago,” Celen said. “But I think the divination class is still very useful, as long as you ignore Professor Trelawney.”

Xilun was somewhat unhappy when he said this.

His only A was in his divination class.

Even Snape gave him an E, but Trelawney only gave him an A.

It seems she only likes to use divination to scare others; she gets upset when it's her turn.

And Siren wasn't bluffing... If things continued like this, by the time Sybil Trelawney was in fifth grade, Umbridge would use her as a tool for their power and expel her.

After that, Ferrenze, a centaur from the Forbidden Forest who is close to wizards, will take her place as the new Divination professor at Hogwarts.

To be honest, it would be impossible for any other school to make a centaur a full professor at Hogwarts; probably only Dumbledore could have done it.

After all, in the eyes of most wizards, the only difference between centaurs and ponies is that they can talk. Apart from that, there is no other difference; they are all animals.

However, this is normal. Without Peter Pettigrew's help, Voldemort will probably find it difficult to revive in a short time.

Given this, will Dumbledore still break with the Ministry of Magic because of Voldemort?

If not, Umbridge would have no reason to come to Hogwarts, and naturally wouldn't have expelled Sybil Trelawney to establish her authority.

If that's the case, it seems like I saved her once, but she only gave me an A.

You absolutely must come to my house during the holidays!

Ron's words interrupted Siron's thoughts. He looked up and saw Ron excitedly inviting Harry. "There's the Quidditch World Cup this holiday season, Harry, come stay with us, we can go together! Dad usually gives us a receipt."

“Oh, and you two too.” He then looked at Hermione and Celeste. “I’ll have Dad get more tickets.”

"Thank you," Siren said, "but it's alright, you don't need to prepare anything for me."

“Me too.” Hermione nodded quickly.

“You don’t need to worry.” Ron thought the two were afraid of troubling his father, so he quickly explained, “There are many people in the Ministry of Magic who don’t go to watch the games every year, so it’s not difficult.”

“This…” Hermione hesitated.

If tickets aren't too hard to get, going to watch the game is a good idea.

The Quidditch World Cup must be the most exciting event in the wizarding world, and she didn't want to miss it if she could.

Only Xilun continued to shake his head.

Harry seemed to have guessed something and sighed, "So you're still not interested in Quidditch? Aren't you going to watch a match?"

“That’s one reason,” Celen said. “Also, if the Quidditch World Cup is held in England this year, my grandfather should receive tickets, and I can use his to go to the games.”

Ollivander, Britain's most famous wand maker, was acquainted with most wizards, including many directors and deputy directors, even though he did not work for the Ministry of Magic.

So whether it's the Quidditch World Cup, the Gobblestone Tournament, or the Duel Tournament, Ollivander always manages to get the best seats in any event held in the UK.

However, he has never been there.

In Garrick Ollivander's words, he would rather trim a unicorn's tail than sit in the boring stands watching a game.

Therefore, he most likely won't go to this Quidditch World Cup. If Siren has any ideas, he can use his ticket.

The group chatted about the Quidditch World Cup and played a few rounds of Bombardier. When the witch came over with her food cart, each of them had a large lunch in front of them.

The taste was so-so. The bread was burnt, the fried fish was dry and hard, and the few pieces of vegetables were wilted. It was far worse than Hogwarts.

The only advantage is that it's cheap, so even most students who have been at Hogwarts for a year can afford it.

"But the competition won't be until closer to the start of the school year." Ron took a big bite of his fried fish with a troubled expression and asked, "What are you planning to do before then?"

“I’m planning to buy a few more books on numerology; the course is really interesting,” Hermione said.

“I’ll probably stay at the Dursleys’ house,” Harry said with a wry smile. “I have nowhere else to go.”

“You can continue living in the Leaky Cauldron,” Siron said.

“It’s too expensive,” Harry said. “The money I would have spent on two months of living there would have been enough for me to live on at school for a whole year.”

Siron looked at him with some surprise. It was unbelievable that Harry knew how to save money.

“And you, Siren?” Harry asked. “What are you planning to do during your holidays?”

“I don’t know yet,” Siren said after thinking for a moment. “Maybe I’ll go to another country and meet other wand makers. I’ve always wanted to go.”
