Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker
Chapter 236 Harry's Confusion
Chapter 236 Harry's Confusion
Just as Siron finished eating a piece of buttered bread, Harry walked in from outside.
He didn't seem to be in a good mood; he was looking down, lost in thought.
However, when he arrived at the Gryffindor table, he immediately found Siron and asked:
"Sirlen, did you summon Professor Lupin?"
“Ah, yes.” Sirens nodded. “When I saw you being led away by Snape and winking at me, I knew something must have happened. So I immediately went to the nearest Defense Against the Dark Arts office.”
"Hasn't Professor Lu Ping been tutoring you all along? I bet you two have a pretty good relationship, and he certainly wouldn't just sit idly by... Now it seems I was right."
“Yes, you’re right. Professor Lupin was my dad’s classmate,” Harry said, staring blankly at the empty plate in front of him.
"What's wrong?" Xiren asked.
"Oh, it's nothing," Harry quickly explained, but a hint of panic flashed in his eyes.
He suddenly remembered what Snape had just said.
His father did something to Snape when he was in school that almost killed him.
Harry didn't believe it at first, thinking Snape was watching him, until he saw Professor Lupin's expression next to him.
It was an expression of guilt mixed with apology... This proved that what Snape said was true, and that Professor Lupin was also involved at the time.
But how is this possible?
Wasn't his father a hero who fought Voldemort? Why would he...?
Harry bit his lip, feeling a jumble of thoughts. He then realized that he seemed to know nothing at all.
“Silon,” he asked suddenly, “if, I mean if you find out…”
"Oh, Harry... I'm so glad you're alright!"
Just then, Ron's excited voice came from the doorway, interrupting Harry's question.
He must have run all the way back, so exhausted he was out of breath, and rushed straight to Harry's side, panting heavily.
Xilun instinctively handed him a jug of pumpkin juice.
"Thank you—" Ron said, picking him up and pouring the contents into his mouth.
While he was drinking his pumpkin juice, Siren turned to Harry and asked, "By the way, what were you about to say?"
"Ah, no, it's nothing." Harry shook his head, seemingly having no intention of continuing the topic.
Although Xilun found him a bit strange, he didn't say anything and continued eating the fried pork chop in front of him.
Ron finally stopped panting after drinking about half a pot of pumpkin juice.
“I was just thinking…how to help you…conceal what’s in your pocket!” he said, pointing to Harry’s bulging pockets.
It was filled with trinkets they'd bought from Zoko... dung balls, burp candies, biting teacups—these things were ticking time bombs, and if discovered, they would be enough to prove Harry's violation of the rules by going to Hogsmeade.
“It’s alright. I told Snape it was the one you gave me last time, and I’ve been carrying it with me ever since,” Harry said. “He can’t verify whether I’m right or not.”
“Great, we’re on the same page,” Ron said happily.
However, Celen felt that they should be more grateful that things in the wizarding world don't have the habit of printing production dates, otherwise, given Zonko's popularity, Harry's excuse would have been exposed in no time.
Fortunately, the magical world doesn't have this custom... after all, his family shop still has products from the last century, namely wands made by his great-great-grandfather.
Given the bizarre thought processes of some Ministry of Magic employees, who knows if they might consider those wands to be expired products.
The group chatted for a while longer. Harry told them that Professor Lupin seemed to know how he got to Hogsmeade.
“That’s terrible,” Ron said. “Has he forbidden you from using those secret passages anymore?”
“I don’t think so,” Harry said.
“I knew it… wait, what did you say?” Ron screamed, “Nothing?”
“No, he just told me not to let anyone else find out, but he didn’t forbid me from using those secret passages anymore.”
Ron felt a sense of disbelief.
It's quite interesting, really. Ron, and Harry himself, knew very well that until Sirius Black was caught, Harry was better off staying in the relatively safe castle rather than risking being killed by visiting Hogsmeade.
Of course, knowing this is one thing, but whether or not to do it is another.
Just as they know that only by studying hard can they get a report card full of O's, the truth is that they would rather play Wizard Chess and Splatoon cards for a while than sit in a boring library and read those even more boring tomes.
However, the professors still patiently urged them to study every day, so in their eyes, it was normal for the professors to forbid them from going to Hogsmeade...
But Professor Lu Ping did not do that.
“Strange…” Ron scratched his head. “Isn’t Professor Lupin worried that you might be attacked by Sirius?”
Xilun looked up at him.
It has to be said that Ron's guess was quite accurate; Lupin really doesn't need to worry about Harry being ambushed by Sirius anymore.
“He’s probably more worried about Harry being with you,” Siron said instinctively.
"What?" Ron frowned, not understanding what Xiren meant.
“Why are you worried about Harry being with me?” he said, somewhat angrily. “I’m not going to reveal Harry’s location to Sirius Black.”
“Of course, I’m sure you wouldn’t do that.” Xiren smiled.
Ron then stopped saying anything, assuming that Siron was just joking.
After finishing their meal, the group left the auditorium together and headed towards the common lounge.
"Speaking of which, how's your freckles?" Siren asked. "Do you still carry them with you?"
“Not recently,” Ron said.
"recent?"
“It started yesterday, to be precise,” Ron said. “Hermione seems to have finally realized how much trouble that ginger cat is causing Scabbers, and it’s been kicked out of the common room since yesterday.”
"Are you sure Hermione drove Crookshanks away?" Siron asked skeptically.
Hermione's been so busy lately, she wouldn't have time to worry about the pets' little affairs.
Moreover, she never believed that Crookshan would actually eat Spotty, and didn't take it seriously at all.
“Anyway, when I saw that stupid cat yesterday, it was wandering around the edge of the Forbidden Forest. Hermione must have chased it away,” Ron said. “Besides Hermione, who else can make that cat obey?”
"Then can you two make up?" Harry said happily.
“Okay, okay… of course,” Ron said. “She’s in the common room right now, doing her homework to clear her head.”
