Hogwarts: Don't call me Wandmaker

Chapter 219 Patronus Curse

Chapter 219 Patronus Curse
Hermione's smile froze at Siron's words. She never expected that the fire bolt would be delivered from the Quidditch boutique.

"Are you sure?"

“I’m pretty sure.” Celen nodded. “The owl flew over from my doorway.”

Ollivanders Wand Shop is closer to the entrance to Diagon Alley than Quidditch Boutique, so if the owl delivering the Firebolt wants to get to Hogwarts, it will definitely have to pass by the window on the second floor of the wand shop.

Therefore, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Xilun saying that.

Hermione's expression changed slightly.

"Maybe, maybe the clerk was controlled by Blake," she said, still unwilling to give up. "He cast a dark spell on the fire bolts beforehand..."

"So you mean Sirius Black took a huge risk to go to Diagon Alley, where wizards are everywhere, just to control a Quidditch shop clerk?"

Just then, the bell rang, signaling the end of get out of class.

Siren chuckled, stood up, and said, “Think about it carefully, Hermione. With your intelligence, you’ll soon realize how foolish this idea is.”

If Blake really had something in mind, why would he go through all that trouble? Wouldn't it have been more convenient to buy it first, cast a black spell on it, and then deliver it?
"Finding a few owls would definitely be easier than storming Diagon Alley and controlling the staff."

Without glancing at the silent Hermione, Siron got up and left the classroom, then hurried to another corridor on the same floor to attend Defense Against the Dark Arts class.

A few minutes later, Hermione arrived.

Although her expression didn't show any difference from before, a closer look would reveal that she would occasionally glance in Harry's direction during class.

After class, Xilun habitually packed up his textbooks and prepared to go to the auditorium for lunch.

But then Harry suddenly caught up from behind.

“I’ve already spoken to Professor Lupin.” He looked at Siron excitedly. “Thursday night at eight o’clock, in the History of Magic classroom. Don’t forget.”

Xilun thought for two seconds before realizing what he meant.

Learn the Guardian Charm!

He had said before his vacation that he would learn this with Harry, but then he heard something even more surprising from his grandfather.

Lately, aside from attending classes, he has been thinking about how to verify the so-called "recognition" magic, to the point that he has forgotten about learning the Guardian Charm.

Now that Harry said it, he remembered it again.

Want to go?
Go, all of you!

In just a second, Siren made his decision. After all, he had promised before, and Harry had spoken to Professor Lupin; it would be inappropriate to go back on his word now.

Moreover, the magic of "recognition" cannot be figured out in a short time; he can't just give away wands to everyone he meets for free.

If they actually did that, those people probably wouldn't cherish a magic wand they got for free, let alone genuinely approve of it.

Thinking about it this way, I should start with the hair wand. But before that, learning the Patronus Charm wouldn't be a bad idea.

……

Around 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, Siren and Harry left the bustling Gryffindor common room and went to the History of Magic classroom.

The place was empty; all the desks had been moved to the wall beforehand, leaving a large open space in the middle.

"Looks like we're early." Siren lit the lamp with his wand. "Let's wait a bit."

They waited for a full half hour, and just as Harry thought Professor Lupin had misremembered the time and was about to go to the Defense Against the Dark Arts office to find him, the classroom door was finally pushed open from the outside.

Professor Lu Ping walked in carrying a large box.

"I'm sorry I'm late," he said. "I misjudged some things, which is why I couldn't get here in time."

"What happened?" Harry asked.

“It’s this,” Professor Lupin said, pointing to the large trunk he had brought. “Another Boggart. I’ve been searching the castle since Tuesday, but I couldn’t find a single Boggart anywhere. I had to ask Professor McGonagall for help, and ten minutes ago she found this in a closet in her dormitory. I hope you haven’t been waiting too long.”

Harry was actually quite anxious, but after hearing Professor Lupin's explanation, he didn't say anything more.

"Alright, let me think about what to do." Professor Lupin looked at Harry, then at Siron beside him.

Actually, if it were just Harry, this matter would probably be simpler.

Because Boggarts turn into Dementors whenever they see Harry, they can use them for practice.

But not Siren. When it's his turn, Boggart will definitely be a different person. Or, to actually capture a Dementor... no way!
Before a certain idea could fully emerge, it was nipped in the bud by Professor Lu Ping.

In any case, Dementors must never enter Hogwarts Castle, no matter the reason.

But to learn the Patronus Charm as quickly as possible, one must confront the Dementors... Only the fear brought by the Dementors can transform the happy memories in a wizard's mind into special magic.

“You follow along and learn first, I’ll think of something else,” Professor Lupin said to Siron. “Maybe next Hogsmeade Week, we can go to the village for some inspiration.”

“Then, let’s first learn the principles of the Patronus Charm.” Lupin drew his wand. “I must tell you, this is a profound spell, far more difficult than any spell you’ve encountered so far…”

Harry nervously swallowed, trying his best to appear confident.

Xilun felt that this sentence sounded familiar...

He remembered that when he was learning about Animagus, Professor McGonagall said the same thing, that Animagus transformation was the most profound magic he had ever encountered.

Indeed, in order to successfully transform himself into an animal, Siron spent an entire academic year in the library, reading dozens, even nearly a hundred, different books on transfiguration.

Compared to this, the Guardian Angel Spell seems to be slightly inferior.

“Alright, you must remember what I’m about to say.” Lupin looked at them seriously. “Before casting this spell, you need to concentrate all your thoughts on a particularly happy moment, and then chant the incantation… Patronus!”

……

Lu Ping explained things in great detail and with great patience, and he would even help correct them when they made mistakes in their wrist movements.

Next came the practice. Lupin had them try it out individually, and to avoid disturbing each other, he specifically arranged for the two to sit on opposite sides of the classroom.

Harry was so nervous that he mispronounced the spell several times.

Meanwhile, Xiren was unaware of all this. When it came to happy things, the first thing that came to mind was the time before school started when he successfully transformed into a cat after completing his first Animagus metamorphosis.

Even though several months have passed, I still feel excited when I think about it now.

With this in mind, Siron took a wand from the shapeshifting lizard skin bag.

It wasn't his usual silver mane, but a yellowish-brown wand with spiral patterns.

[Dracaena, unicorn tail hair, 1/12 inches]

Status: Unbalanced

[Features: Spell Effect -70%; Patronus Charm +25%]

Xilun gripped the special dragonblood wood wand tightly and waved it gently.

"Call the gods to protect you!"

Suddenly, something shot out from the tip of the wand, like a silvery-white cloud floating in mid-air.

Judging from the outline, it appears to be a cat.
