Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 483 One and Two

Chapter 483 One and Two
As Luger deftly broke off large chunks of blood crystal from the wall at the bottom of the pit, the surrounding cheers and shouts reached a new peak, but Luger frowned.

He discovered that the generated blood crystals could not be completely removed, but he quickly realized what was happening.

A silent demon stepped forward, took the portion of the blood crystal that couldn't be removed, and threw it into a large box. Judging from its practiced movements, that portion of the blood crystal naturally belonged to the lord.

Luger looked at the blood crystal in his hand and threw it directly out of the pit.

Mahama raised his large hand and caught it, then obediently handed it to the old demon. The demons nearby all looked over, examining the not-so-tall, clothed demon with astonishment.

The old demon's sharp gaze swept over them, then he smiled smugly and looked down at Luger.

Luger stood at the bottom of the pit, watching them quietly. When the old demon looked over, he showed a respectful expression and bowed his head in the direction of the old demon to show his submission.

This aroused the curiosity of the surrounding demons, and more eyes were cast on the old demon. Strictly speaking, the demons' curiosity was not complicated; they were just wondering how big the old demon's fist was, which was what the demons cared about most.

A cloud of dust billowed up.

A two-headed demon jumped into the pit and stood in front of Ruger.

It looked at Luger, and Luger was looking at it, or rather, at them.

Luger saw a thoughtful expression in its eyes, suggesting a cunning and calculating demon. Luger preferred a burly, reckless man, as he would be easier to deal with.

"Increase the stakes. If you lose and survive, you will submit to me and join my ranks, hehehe."

The two-headed demon laughed as it spoke.

Snapped!
It suddenly swung its hand and slapped itself hard across the face.

But it's another face.

The other head suddenly awoke.

Ruger watched with curiosity. When the guy jumped down, one head was talking, while the other head was drooping and sleeping soundly, with faint snoring coming from it.

Since the other side had asked Luger to raise the stakes, they naturally had to do the same. The two-headed demon pulled out a handful of blood crystals in addition to a simple sign.

Ruger simply found it amusing to observe the other person.

The other was slightly taller than him, not particularly strong, and had a tattered piece of leather wrapped around its waist like his. Its two heads, neither too big nor too small, each with a pair of small horns, looked a bit crowded on its shoulders, even though its shoulders were quite broad. This made its body proportions look extremely disproportionate.

Ruger sized up the other party without refusing, and it seemed that there was no such procedure here.

The old demon above the pit didn't make a sound either, so Luger didn't bother to turn around and ask.

Suddenly, a wave of heat surged forth.

Ruger smiled slightly. That's how demons are. Their spell-like abilities are mostly related to fire, but there are also many types of demons that are resistant to burning. Although the degree varies, it is indeed a bit contradictory.

This also adds a sense of power and beauty to demonic magic. For example, the fireball spell that Ruger unconsciously swung his arm out to throw was a common sight among demons.

Just as Luger was about to dodge, a sharp shriek pierced the noise.

The head that had just woken up suddenly opened its mouth wide and yelled at Luger, and the yelling continued as if it would never stop.

Luger's body, which was about to move, trembled at the sound, as if he couldn't walk.

*Crack!* The flaming whip lashed out at Luger, tearing his skin from his cheek to his chest, sending him flying.

Fortunately, he had sent all the furry creatures, including the hourglass furry creature and the blood curse doll, into his bedroom space when he first arrived at the abyss; otherwise, some of them would have been injured.

He had also decided that the main ingredient for cultivating Fire-resistant Spirit Hair would be found in the blood of demons.

Before he could regain his footing, Luger raised his hand and pointed, sending out tiny gray bullets, barely visible to the naked eye. The two-headed demon, who was charging forward with a fierce expression, trembled violently.

During his many days of hunting, Ruger gradually figured out that, apart from spells like Fireball that demons have similar spell-like abilities that he could use, there were also Lesser Sharpness and Ash Bullet spells, which were relatively concealed and had no obvious characteristics. Even if someone noticed them, they would think they were his own spell-like abilities, since he looked very strange and was not a common demon species.

When he cast Lesser Sharpness and Gray Bullet spells, there was almost no magical fluctuation.

Ruger took a sudden step, his powerful strength allowing him to immediately regain his footing. His retreat turned into a forward charge, and the lingering effects of the Lesser Sharpness spell from the previous round of killing flashed at his fingertips. Ruger was too lazy to cast any more spells, and he intentionally controlled the number of spells he cast in each battle.

The two-headed demon, in a state of agony, came right into Luger's eyes.

This strange demon's spiritual power was stronger than the previous demon, but even after the gray bullet interference, it was still successfully suppressed by Luger's intimidation.

The devil of miserliness's massive hand pierced through its chest, revealing a heart larger than one might imagine within its not-so-strong body.

Then the heart appeared in Ruger's hand.

Snapped!
The person on the left raised their hand and slapped the person on the right.

"Why did you stop...?"

The left side of the head was filled with resentment, and it was this resentment that led Ruger to guess that it was the one who slapped him.

Snapped!
"You're about to die, and you're still hitting me!"

The right head clearly chose not to give in any longer; although it collapsed to the ground, it still managed to pull back with all its might.

“I just wanted to save some energy… Your whip could have been longer…”

The person on the right was still talking after being slapped.

The two heads each controlled one arm, and they started fighting, swinging their arms left and right, leaving the ground covered in blood.

Looking at the strangely shaped heart in his hand, Ruger felt a strong attraction, as if he were grasping a dancing flame. Upon closer inspection, the heart's shape did resemble a flame, albeit in a more abstract way, requiring a bit of imagination.

He shoved the demon's heart into his mouth, and as he swallowed and chewed, the wound on his chest, which had mostly healed, began to move even faster.

There's an even more wonderful feeling.

Actually, when he saw the newly formed blood crystal, he also had an urge to eat it, but it wasn't as strong.

The two guys who were fighting had actually been observing Ruger the whole time.

Seeing that Luger did not rush over to kill them, he breathed a sigh of relief and immediately leaped up and rushed out of the pit along the slope.

Seeing it escape, the silent demon knew the battle was over and threw over the blood crystals of the wager, though a portion was still withheld.

Luger looked up at the guy, and being injured, they were naturally even less able to withstand the intimidation of mental power. They immediately rolled down the slope again, all the way to Luger's feet.

"Submit?" Ruger looked down at his feet and said softly.

The duel is over, the stakes have been paid, but this is now a private matter.

This is the way demons act, this is the way intelligent demons behave. Otherwise, these two wouldn't have taken the opportunity to escape. They were afraid that Luger would make another move, kill them, or coerce them into doing something else.

When Ruger grasped the oddly shaped heart, he could already sense that the creature had a smaller heart beating inside.

So he won't die anytime soon, and he even has a chance to recover, or even regrow his missing heart. After all, demons have a strong life force, and this guy is not weak. That whip strike he delivered earlier had the power of an ordinary fireball.
