Kobold Wizard's Journal
Chapter 467 Unique and Only One Point Apart
Chapter 467 Unique and Just a Little Bit Apart
Laughter and cheers, peace and tranquility.
The wizard Zorn sat cross-legged on the street corner, seemingly possessing a special charm as a stranger. A large group of chattering fairies gathered around him, some taller than Mahama, others smaller than a human thumb. They surrounded Zorn and laughed with him. There was also a fairy, only slightly taller than a wine jug, who always flapped his wings to lift the jug and pour wine for him.
The rupture was no longer spreading towards the center of the royal city in a certain direction, but was gradually becoming irregular.
Zorn’s strange, shadowy drinking buddies are often missing one person, but this time it’s not Zorn who’s stuffing them into his chest hair.
Ruger sat by the window, looking at the street corner diagonally opposite.
Before anyone knew it, only Zorn remained, sitting cross-legged, holding a large wine glass that was only half full, the clear, emerald-green liquid swirling inside.
Zorn withdrew his hand from the glass, tilted his head back, and drank the half-glass of wine.
Luger raised an eyebrow at this.
He could only see Zorn's profile, but he was still somewhat surprised by Zorn's expression at that moment.
The wizard seemed somewhat sad, but Ruger dismissed that thought immediately.
More accurately, it should be said that he felt somewhat dejected.
But Ruger quickly shook his head again, and the initial look of dejection didn't seem quite right.
That was more like a heartfelt sentiment.
Ruger blinked, but what exactly he was thinking or what he was feeling was beyond his ability to discern.
Their location was very close to the center of the royal city, which meant that the kingdom had truly come to its end.
A mirror that overestimated its own strength and was difficult to put away in time reflected what it could not bear, and was destined to be broken.
Simply put, that's how it is.
Countless years ago, it decided to silently steal the power of faith from that sea, and its shattered fate was already sealed.
Like the sound of a bubble bursting.
Luger, who was sitting comfortably by the window, suddenly felt his feet sink into the air and found himself in mid-air.
Below are the surging waves and that nameless little island.
Nightmare spread his wings and, as he descended, looked up at the sky.
Mahama was falling rapidly to the side, the magical fluctuations of the Magic Skin spell flashing by, her skin swelling up, turning her into a ball.
Valin then summoned the merging gem fairies, which transformed into five spiraling downward steps.
Ruger stared intently upwards, where the ruined fairy kingdom was already visible to the naked eye, like a large, irregularly shaped shard of mirror, its contents resembling a trembling mirage, sometimes clear and sometimes hazy.
But the most striking figure was the wizard Gillian, standing silently beneath the fragments shimmering with mirages.
Gillian's long hair trembled as nine combs flew out from the hazy scenery of the last fragments of the fairy kingdom, one after another, and were inserted into the back of her head.
Each comb seemed to be stabilizing her mental state.
In an instant, Ruger had a sudden realization: perhaps the reason these combs were arranged this way was to suppress the injury she had sustained some time ago.
"Almost there."
The wizard Zorn sat cross-legged on the back of his magical pet and appeared beside Ruger.
Unfortunately, Mahama and Varin did not receive this treatment.
Gillian's hair was piled high, with the last comb resting steadily at the back of her head, resembling an exquisite headdress.
Gillian's eyes flickered as her mental energy stabilized. She looked up at the twisting, gradually crumbling and shrinking fragments of the fairy kingdom. She slowly stretched out her hand into the air, releasing a strange fluctuation of mental energy.
The shimmering fragments twisted and turned.
It gradually transformed into a strange comb, its surface as smooth as a mirror, resembling a small mirror in the shape of a comb. Anyone who saw it would instinctively worry that the comb was easily broken.
The comb slowly descended and landed steadily in Gillian's hair bun.
The wizard Gillian unleashed an unprecedented aura, keeping her eyes closed for a long time. When she opened her eyes, her aura subsided, a faint smile appeared on her face, and she began to slowly descend towards the island.
Ruger couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. The end of a fairy kingdom had, in a peculiar way, brought a wizard to his fulfillment.
That's actually a good thing.
Just as Luger was about to step forward to offer his blessings, a thought suddenly struck him, and with a flap of his wings, he dashed to the other side of the island.
The wizard Zorn, who was taking out the silver carriage, saw his unusual behavior and gave him a surprised look, but then smiled.
Ruger followed his intuition; it was his secret mark.
With that in mind, he sped up again.
He needs to confirm something.
However, I had a slightly bad feeling. The secret mark didn't move; it just stayed there quietly.
The island was pitifully small, something Luger had mocked in his heart many times. Now, it seemed to be taking revenge on Luger, making him realize that it wasn't so small after all.
Finally, he arrived at the other side of the island.
On the beach, a chubby mouse sat there blankly, a book tucked under its short arm, and a duster made of a tree branch in its other hand.
The secret mark is on that book.
Luger smiled, folded his wings, and slowly walked over.
This interesting fellow, deep down, still harbored a desire to leave the country, even if it was just a little bit. That would be a difference from nothing to something. In the end, it was inexplicably saved, perhaps because it had some ability to manipulate space. In any case, it was dropped off, and it landed on the island earlier than Luger and the others.
Ruger sat down beside it and noticed that the mouse's short legs were buried in the sand.
Cast a Spirit Hair Nourishment spell over there.
The mouse shuddered, turned to look at him, and seemed quite pleased, but then its expression changed.
Seeing this, Ruger asked softly, "Are you very sad?"
The big rat looked at the unfamiliar, endless sea and nodded.
"For the inn? For the fairy kingdom?" Ruger asked curiously.
After all, this guy's thinking is often quite different from that of ordinary people.
The mouse was genuinely taken aback for a moment, then shook its head.
"It's so good to see you, esteemed guest. It's a pity I no longer have a hotel to accommodate you. I have some ideas about the dish you mentioned on the way to your room last time. It's a good idea, and I've prepared most of it. It's a pity I can't make it now. I only know that I'm sad... but I don't know why. I'm just sad. But I have my own solutions. I want to build another hotel, a bigger and more beautiful one. Once the hotel is built, I shouldn't be sad anymore."
The big rat spoke with utmost seriousness and sincerity.
“That’s great. I was just missing a hotel owner,” Ruger said sincerely. “But the good news is that I’ve already hired two chefs! Two chefs, one of a kind in the world. If there weren’t two of them, I would say they are unique, one of a kind in the world! Now the hotel only needs rooms, a restaurant, tables and chairs, and some other odds and ends to be completed.”
The big rat's eyes lit up.
Looking at its expression, and then thinking about the third-ring wizard who had stuffed the fairy into his chest hair, Ruger suddenly felt that he hadn't gone too far, that he was righteous, and that he was trying to make it forget its sadness.
