Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 453 Creation and Security

Chapter 453 Creation and Security
Fireball, an ancient and iconic spell that witnesses the growth of a wizard.

Luger leaned against the tree root bed, one hand under his head, the other holding up a blazing object—a swirling fireball, but it wasn't very big, only about a size larger than a normal fireball spell.

Ruger was confident in himself, but he didn't try too much of a so-called cohesive approach in his first attempt.

During his study of the Fireball spell, he discovered that this spell, like Light and Lesser Sharpness, is a kind of condensation spell. It is also a spell that allows for choices during the empowerment process. Just like Light, you can choose the brightness of the light orbs during the empowerment process. You can go all out to make the light orbs very large and keep them at a high place for a long time.

Ruger examined the fireball in his hand.

To achieve greater power, more time must be spent on empowering and condensing it, and more stable and powerful mental control is required.

Even with strong and stable mental power, remember not to be too greedy.

It was probably the greed of some people, or rather, their pursuit of power, that led to the creation of spellcasting gestures and incantations that changed the wizarding world. Ruger believed that he had misunderstood from the beginning. Spells and spellcasting gestures can indeed ensure safety when casting fireballs, but they were created to pursue the creation of more powerful fireballs and explore the limits of a spell, even if it required some sacrifice. This should have been the thinking of the wizards at that time.

Luger's body began to change as he lay on the tree root bed, still holding his small fireball in one hand during the transformation.

As expected, he was indeed different in his demon form.

It's an indescribable feeling, not some earth-shattering change. If I had to put it into words, it would be a sense of ease, a greater control over the fireball.

Ruger toyed with the fireball in his hand, feeling that in the state of the Miserly Demon, he could condense fireballs faster and more stably, which meant that the maximum power would also be greater.

Of course, no one would try to conjure a fireball spell that they could control to its fullest extent during a battle.

This has given rise to a trend, a lasting direction, where some wizards use various methods to address the drawbacks of the Fireball spell as a way to become stronger. Even at the second and third ring levels, they continue to research ways to break the upper limit of the Fireball spell's power. As a result, some second and third ring spells have been created.

Ruger repeatedly extinguished the fireball in his palm, only to re-condense it.

I'm getting familiar with this process.

He gradually became distracted; although his hands continued moving, his thoughts began to wander.

As a first-ring wizard, it's naturally easier to start with zero-ring spells if you want to modify or create them. Your strong mental power allows you to do more comprehensive work and see more things.

First transform, then create.

Ruger longed to find a place, just like the spellbook described, a spacious and deserted spot, to calmly condense and cast a fireball spell, and see the power of the fireball spell at the limit of his control.

But what he wants most right now is to create a spell that can be used with malice.

Tomorrow morning will be my last breakfast here.

According to the plan, after dawn, at the time specified by the Rat Boss, they could go through the back door of the inn to the Fairy King's territory.

With these thoughts in mind, Luger remained in his demonic state and slowly closed his eyes.

The fireball spell remained in his hand, but he looked at the spell model of the fireball spell in his mental space.

During the process of learning the Fireball Technique, pent-up inspiration and many immature ideas popped up one by one, flashing through his mind like stars streaking across the night sky.

Ruger thought of a slightly special spell like Lesser Sharpness, which, by sacrificing some of its strength or even characteristics, is downgraded to a lower-level spell. Or, like Spirit Hair Nourishment, which sacrifices strength while imposing strict restrictions to retain some of the most important characteristics, thus downgrading a high-level spell to a lower-level spell.

This is also a form of modification, or rather, a way of creating magic. What Ruger is doing now includes this method, and it is his first attempt at it.

What he wanted to do was not simply to make Fireball a weaker version of a zero-ring spell, but to borrow some of the characteristics of the weakened Fireball spell, and then use Fireball as the main element, while incorporating some minor discoveries related to the foul-smelling skin.

The most interesting discovery was not from the spell model of the foul-smelling skin, but from his observation of the patterns on his own skin.

These patterns were created by the fusion of two spells during his demonic state.

In fact, this is not just a fusion of two spells. The Foul Skin spell itself will change the skin when the spell is cast, and the same is true for the Stingy Fall spell. It is an interweaving of the skin under the two changes.

All changes originated from him, but many of the changes that arose from the interplay of various factors, even those that occurred to him, still required his study and investigation.

The small discovery he made from observing himself was unlike anything he had ever seen before, but he still believed it to be a rune, or a broken or incomplete one.

Ruger was jolted awake from his meditation when there was a knock on the door, realizing that it was already morning.

The hotel owner's breakfast wake-up service was introduced.

Ruger opened his eyes. The fireball was still in his hand, and he could hear knocking from afar, in the direction of Mahama's room.

Ruger had a feeling that this big guy would try to become a wizard soon.

He waved away the small fireball spell in his hand and walked out the door.

The brief period of relaxation ended. Although Ruger guessed that the wizard Zorn had seen through the last moment that led to the Fairy King's territory, he had not thought of the reason for staying here for three days.

Was it based on his understanding of the wizard Gillian? Or his confidence in her?

It can't really be just about drinking, right?
Ruger walked into the hotel lobby, and sure enough, the wizard Zorn was still sitting there. Ruger even suspected that he hadn't moved at all in the past few days, quietly thinking and drinking his wine day and night.

If that's really the case, Luger looked at the big rat again, then the rat boss should be very happy these next few days.

Before we knew it, a sumptuous breakfast had been served.

They haven't been idle these past few days; they've ordered all sorts of different things to eat, and almost every time the dishes on the table are different.

Meanwhile, lying on his tree root bed these past few days, Luger could clearly sense that this fairy kingdom was rapidly heading towards the brink of collapse.

Ruger forked a fruit that looked like it had been boiled and took a bite. He discovered a pleasant surprise inside. The pit had been removed, and the fruit was stuffed with a tender strip of meat, the flavors of meat and fruit intertwined.

He puffed out his cheeks and kept chewing when he suddenly noticed that something was wrong with Valin's expression.

But it wasn't the previous anxiety; instead, it was a complex and indescribable look in his eyes.

Ruger followed her gaze and saw that the big rat seemed to be studying the new menu. Perhaps their practice of almost eating everything on the menu had spurred the rat boss to want to add some new dishes to the menu.

The mouse stood behind the counter humming a song, as if it had remembered something delicious it had eaten, and immediately picked up a wooden pen and wrote it down.

It seems they intend to carefully create a page for the menu, rather than simply adding it to the end. Perhaps it will go through trial production and tasting, and only after everyone is satisfied will it be made into a beautiful page like the previous menus and included in the menu. However, the fairy who helped them draw the menu has gone mad and died, so I wonder how they will resolve this.
