Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 451 Predetermined and Tranquil

Chapter 451 Predetermined and Tranquil

It loves its store and is proud of it.

This is Luger's most direct feeling.

Ruger didn't get this feeling from looking at the big rat's expression, but simply by looking down at the menu, he could feel the deep emotional investment in each page. Moreover, the other party highly recognized his efforts, neither humble nor arrogant, but fairly acknowledging him. He could confidently display his efforts in front of everyone, and that purest sense of pride welled up from the heart.

Despite this, the hotel has only hosted two groups of guests in hundreds of years.

If you think about it, you'll realize that in a closed fairy kingdom, where would travelers come from? The cheerful fairies are free and don't have the habit of staying in hotels.

The rat owner's idea to open a hotel stemmed from a dream, and he diligently prepared for it.

The menu pages were turned one by one, while the big rat stood by waiting, showing no impatience whatsoever.

Luger was the slowest one.

By the time the others had made their choices, he had only flipped through a little over half of the pages.

He reached out and rubbed the corner of the menu, feeling the texture of the page, before slowly turning to the next.

The big rat was not alarmed by Luger's actions; on the contrary, it was even happier, and its whiskers twitched from time to time.

Ruger looked closely and discovered more and more details as he looked. The material of each page of the menu was different, and sometimes it was even related to the dishes on it. For example, if the flower leaves used in the previous soup were used, then the menu page would be made of those leaves. The roasted fruit kernels would be on a hard page, and the pattern of the menu background would match the pattern on the shell of the fruit kernel. Every detail amazed Ruger.

On some pages of the menu, the materials used to depict the dishes corresponded to the food in the pictures. Ruger twitched his nose, able to smell the aromas of the ingredients, as if he could already imagine the taste of the dishes in the pictures.

The fact that the mouse didn't make the corresponding choice among all the paints indicates that it was impossible to do most of them, but it also shows that it did its best to do the best it could in the parts it could.

As Luger carefully perused the pages, the mouse hummed merrily beside him, as if its joy was irrepressible.

What exactly is a fairy?
A strange thought suddenly popped into Luger's mind.

Turning to look at the big rat humming a song haphazardly to the side, I realized that these clever rats, like the first one, would occasionally dance and sing in circles when they couldn't contain their emotions.

"Dear guests, the total is one Sun Coin, twelve Silver Moon Coins, and twenty-five Star Coins. If you need anything else, please let me know. I'm always happy to serve you... You can order anything listed above. I always have all the ingredients ready and always provide the best service..."

After Luger selected the last dish, the big rat quickly calculated the amount of money, which was even the currency commonly used in the underground city.

Ruger paused for a moment; it was expensive, yet also very cheap.

This would be considered extremely expensive at any hotel where you pay with coins, since it costs a Sun Coin, but for a wizard, the use of ordinary currency is not a big deal.

Moreover, in this fairy kingdom, these currencies should be useless.

As Ruger thought about it, he subconsciously took out Sun Coins and Moon Coins and paid it.

The big rat muttered to itself and slowly began to return the change to Luger.

“Oh, just right. These coins are the result of my fifty years of collecting them bit by bit throughout the fairy kingdom after I started preparing to open this shop. As you know, there are occasional turbulent currents in the fairy kingdom that bring human things here, including coins. Most of them are picked up and taken home by little fairies who like to collect things. I really went to great lengths, digging a lot of holes for them... Oh, and I also want to thank the previous customers for the money they paid. It’s just enough for you…” The mouse said, calculating the corresponding amount and gently placing it in Luger’s hand.

Everyone at the table looked on in amazement, surprised by the mouse's amusement and by the interaction between Luger and the two furry creatures.

Even before leaving, the mouse casually complimented Luger's fur.

The first thing served was naturally the drinks. The big rat placed the wine cups in front of everyone one by one. Luger's cup was made of stone, Mahama and Valin's cups were large wooden goblets, while the wizard Zorn's cup was made of leaves.

In the words of the rat, Zorn's cup is made of silk spit by a fairy. It is a custom-made wine glass, suitable for bitter wines. The wine glass made of leaves with a bitter taste and a coolness will enhance the flavor of the wine. There are also the cups of Mahama and Valin. Their sour fruit wine uses wood as one of the materials for making wine. Only a little bit is added when making wine. It is served in this cup and sipped slowly. It will even make the wine taste more sour.

The stone cup in Luger's hand was designed to withstand the wine. The rat seemed to know that he was a dragon descendant with a strong physique, so it recommended a wine that would even corrode ordinary cups. Of course, it would only corrode slightly, but using an ordinary wine cup would mean that impurities would be introduced due to corrosion, affecting the taste.

Before Luger could even exclaim in surprise after taking a bite, he saw the wizard Zorn across from him light up, which said it all.

The wizard Zorn is not picky about his drinks; he'll drink anything that costs two star coins a glass.

But that doesn't mean the wizard wouldn't taste it.

He's a seasoned drinker.

As Ruger watched them raise their glasses and savor their wine, he suddenly remembered that there were more than twenty kinds of fairy wines on the exquisite menu that they hadn't ordered.

As one dish after another they had ordered was served.

Everyone began to enjoy the meal. With the wizard Zorn present, Luger and the others were naturally more relaxed. Luger even selected some more dishes and put them directly into his bedroom space so that Aiskin and Big Sha Heng could also taste the specialties of fairy cuisine. Of course, it would be difficult to replicate them, as the ingredients were limited, but it might inspire the two kobolds.

In fact, Luger had already collected quite a few flowers and plants into his space along the way. He didn't let go of any of the ones that he felt were fine and could be used as food. The two kobolds were also busy cultivating and transplanting plants in the space.

After the meal, everyone was in high spirits. Zorn ordered several different drinks, while Mahama and Ruger, who had big appetites, ordered some more food that interested them.

The mouse seemed quite pleased with the mess on the dining table.

"The king's wedding will be held in ten days. By then, most of the surviving fairies should be able to go... Of course, there are some reclusive ones, and some small creatures will get lost, so most of them won't be able to go. There are also some who always leave close to the appointed time, always thinking they can reach their destination quickly, but that's just wishful thinking, and they never learn their lesson..."

The mouse said happily, shrugging its shoulders while holding the tray in its paws.

Luger and the others sat at the table, drinking their wine and watching it busily tidy up.

“My lord, we…” Varin began.

"Oh, by the way, the road to the royal land can only be traveled during the day, especially for you big guys. You can only travel there for a short period of time during the day. I'm not here to offer you lodging. This is the current state of things here. Everything is crumbling. The Fairy King's residence is the most special one. I'm just giving you a friendly reminder, after all, you are my esteemed customers..." The rat muttered, picked up the last few empty wine glasses, and busied itself again before turning and leaving.

Ruger instinctively looked at the wizard Zorn.
