Chapter 441 Awake and Sleep

Chapter 441 Awake and Sleep

The figure that suddenly fell from mid-air naturally caught the attention of the little ones.

"Invasion".

"It's an intruder!"

"Charge! Charge! Protect our master—"

A group of furry creatures shouted and prepared to form a battle formation and charge forward.

Ruger was somewhat helpless and wanted to say something to stop these little things, but before he could speak, he noticed that Valin was acting strangely. He suddenly stood up, his Nightmare Wings flapped, and he darted away.

Just as he reached out his hands to catch the falling figure, two combs suddenly flew up and blocked his way.

But in an instant, they seemed to recognize Luger and dispersed on their own.

Unfortunately, this delay meant that Ruger couldn't catch Valin in time. But fortunately, he was powering up the Lightness Spell model as he got up, and he successfully cast it just as Valin was about to land, preventing her from falling too badly.

Ruger slowly approached her.

The tremor from the landing had already woken her up slowly. The two combs did not stop Luger from getting closer, but they still flew to her side and protected her.

With a sudden wave of his hand, Ruger drew back the charging, valiant Spirit Hair Knights and their god to himself.

The two combs shook violently, as if sensing the presence of those spirit hairs, and became somewhat excited.

"Um……"

Valin struggled, her eyelids trembling, as if waking up and opening her eyes was an extremely difficult thing.

Ruger stood to the side, arms crossed, watching Valin slowly wake up but not fully awake. After a moment's thought, he raised his hand and cast a Mind Boiling spell.

When the spell was cast, Valin did not wake up immediately, and Ruger realized that something was wrong.

Fortunately, with some help, Valin struggled and suddenly opened her eyes.

Looking down at her, Ruger saw panic and a hint of confusion in her eyes.

"Lord Ruger?"

Valin tentatively suggested that since the two hadn't met often, and Ruger's appearance had changed slightly, he was still wearing the old robe that Gillian had damaged.

"Good morning, welcome to get up, Valin apprentice."

Ruger joked, his nose twitching slightly as he looked at the barbecue in the distance.

Only Aiskin was left there, busy by the fireplace. Luger saw that Big Fool had just led Squeaky to catch fish in the water.

Valin suddenly stood up; already tall, she was now a head taller than Luger.

“You seem a little different,” Valin said, covering her head.

"There have been some changes, but I'll grow back..."

Ruger straightened his well-fitting robe and stared intently at Valin.

He felt that Varin should have something else to say, not just be surprised by the change in this furry guy.

Sure enough, Valin's expression changed. It seemed that Luger's dog-like face helped her quickly recover from her unusually dazed state and remember some things.

"I must find a way to save Lady Gillian, Lady Gillian, she..."

Valin blinked her big eyes, and as soon as she uttered Gillian's name, she seemed to have violated some precept, and her steady body suddenly swayed.

Ruger watched as she slowly collapsed in front of him, and closed her eyes again, her eyes trembling as if trying to open them.

A strange sense of unease left Luger momentarily at a loss for what to do.

She and the wizard Gillian disappeared at this location and then reappeared here. This suggests that Valin, like him, hid in a bedroom-like space, rather than leaving using a teleportation-like method as initially imagined.

But now, only Valin has appeared, and that's the crux of the problem.

With a wave of his hand, Ruger understood his meaning and lifted Valin, who was now imbued with the Lightness spell.

All he can think of now is waiting, and letting her warm herself by the fire and eat some roasted meat.

Or perhaps he could try waiting for her to wake up again, without mentioning Gillian's name, and see if that would improve things. Meanwhile, he was also waiting for the possible arrival of Wizard Zorn. With such a commotion, Zorn would surely be interested; news of Mahama's successful departure and his being left behind should have already spread.

Looking at the tall girl floating beside him, Ruger realized that with the two of them here, the likelihood of the wizard Zorn arriving was much greater.

Pfft!
Two combs suddenly threw Valin down, floating in front of her to protect her.

Luger was about to greet the big fool and squeak who had had a great catch, especially squeak who looked very happy after catching a strange-looking big fish, but he stopped abruptly and turned to look into the distance.

A strange flying device was rapidly approaching, and as it drew closer, it looked like a silver carriage.

Ruger stood still, watching quietly.

Valin was lying at his feet, her face covered in mud, her eyeballs still twitching under her eyelids.

The thing seemed to be in a great hurry, rushing close and circling over the pitifully small island before suddenly appearing not far from Ruger.

The silver carriage door opened, and three figures appeared before Ruger.

Ruger sized up the other person, who was also looking at him.

Ruger's heart skipped a beat; the three men's gazes were clearly more focused on Valin to the side.

"Sir, please identify yourself and explain the situation here. I hope you are not a reckless villain, otherwise I will have no choice but to execute you."

As the elder leading the group spoke, he revealed a fluctuation of mental energy belonging to a first-ring wizard.

Ruger smiled and glanced at Valin, who was still unconscious. Clearly, she had been misunderstood by these strange fellows.

“She’s my friend, nothing more. As for my identity,” Ruger said, raising a finger beside him, revealing the mark of a witcher, “that should be enough proof. Perhaps you can wait patiently; she will wake up soon.”

The three looked at the sign and exchanged glances.

Although his identity as a witcher wasn't enough to prove he was a good person, the three men had clearly lowered their guard.

Ruger had already figured out that of the three people, the old man and the middle-aged man were first-ring wizards, and the younger one was a wizard apprentice.

The middle-aged man stepped forward.

"Please forgive our rudeness."

The middle-aged man spoke, bowing slightly.

Ruger waved his hand.

The middle-aged man glanced at the wizard apprentice beside him, and the man immediately strode forward.

“We are her family, and we are taking her away now,” the middle-aged man said softly.

family?

Ruger paused for a moment, glancing at the approaching apprentice and then at Valin at his feet.

"You must all be tired by now. Why don't we sit down and enjoy a delicious meal together? I have two world-class dragonborn kobold chefs here, as well as homemade dragon blood wine... We can leave together after she wakes up."

As he spoke, Ruger stepped forward and stood in front of Valin.
