Chapter 419 Bread and Wizard

Chapter 419 Bread and Wizard

A violent churning sound came from the distant, unseen sea. The person kneeling on the ground was shouting. The astonishing magical fluctuations could not be sensed from any direction; they seemed to be everywhere.

Ruger felt like he was about to explode. He looked at the kneeling middle-aged apprentice Isaac, but felt there was no need to pay attention to this short, fat guy anymore. Such an exaggerated scene could not have been caused by this guy, so those few crazy shouts from this guy were very likely real, namely the god of knowledge.

Ascending to God?

The first time I heard this term was from Lord Kurt. During his ascension ceremony, when he completed his own transformation, he also helped the God of Sorrow he created ascend to godhood, becoming a so-called false god.

Ruger looked at the guy kneeling on the ground and a look of surprise flashed across his face.

A wizard's apprentice? A believer?
Wizarding apprentices have become believers? Is this something the Supreme Council allows?
Suddenly, a lifting force lifted him up, and at the same time, the last comb came to its rightful place.

"Walk."

The wizard Gillian gave a stern, low shout.

The peculiar alchemical apparatus composed of seven combs shot out, not even having time to rise as it had before, but instead wobbling and trembling as it continued to climb.

Ruger let out a long breath, still clinging tightly to the corner of the alchemical apparatus, with most of his body still hanging outside.

He watched the land rush past his feet, gradually receding into the distance. The four of them sped along, and after a while, they finally left the island.

Tianzhu Mountain was completely dark.

Ruger steadied himself and looked around. The raging waves crashing against the sea roared in his ears, surging as if they were about to bite the dome of the sky.

Another unfamiliar comb flew from the wizard Gillian's hand, and the eighth comb was stuck into the speeding alchemical instrument, raising both speed and stability to a new level.

Ruger noticed that the wizard Gillian looked extremely unwell.

Their greatest asset here was, of course, the wizard Zorn, who may or may not have just woken up from his drunken stupor.

But Ruger didn't think about those things too much. He already had the urge to use the Return Stone. An extremely uneasy feeling made a lot of the spirit hairs on his body stand up. This feeling was very bad. He felt disoriented and didn't even know which direction to escape to. No matter how great the reputation of the Holy Tribunal was, it couldn't immediately shield him, a little wizard apprentice, from the waves.

Boom! A sudden tremor ran through the sky.

“Inom—”

From the farthest distance came a deafening shout that shook the heavens.

Ruger felt dizzy and nearly fell off the rapidly flying alchemical equipment.

The deafening roar was filled with unparalleled rage.

Upon hearing the man's angry, loudly proclaimed name, the wizard Gillian's expression changed drastically.

Ruger saw this and further confirmed in his mind what the person who knelt down and shouted earlier had said: the God of Knowledge must be among those whose faces changed drastically when they were here, even those who were above the level of formal wizards.

If that's really the case, then it's self-evident who this person, filled with anger and shouting so loudly, is.

Ruger glanced at Mahama, the big guy whose face had turned black, while Valin, who was also a wizard apprentice, was pale. Fortunately, neither of them had been knocked unconscious by the inexplicable shouts.

Just as the alchemical apparatus made of eight combs had settled, the shout came again, its awe-inspiring power and surging waves sounding as if a towering giant was roaring at the sea from the other side of the endless ocean.

"Enom! You're insane! You must be insane—"

The heart-stirring shouts echoed in the air. This time the shouts were just as loud, just as angry, but thankfully they didn't make people dizzy like last time.

The waves rolled and churned, as if responding to the person's feelings.

A muffled, slightly noisy voice, not very loud, but precisely reached everyone's ears.

"Welcome, great god of knowledge! Ascend to the highest place!"

"Welcome, our great God of Knowledge, to ascend to the highest divine position, to become the practitioner of knowledge, the manager of knowledge... He is the explorer of the mysteries of life, the revealer of the veil of time, powerful and immortal, with unchanging eyes that see through everything in the world, with supreme wisdom, to understand the secrets of all things, to become that eternal, endless—God of Wizardry."

The jumble of voices around them was more awe-inspiring than any thunderous shout.

Luger's slightly open mouth tasted the splashing seawater.

On the speeding alchemical artifact, the four people all looked astonished, none of them able to hear what was being said, and they remained calm.

Suddenly, the wizard Gillian's face darkened, and she glared at him.

Ruger was spitting and making a spitting sound. Seeing this, he was a little confused. Gillian, who was staring at him intently, made him feel a little uneasy.

Suddenly, Ruger felt a heat rising in his head. He realized he was crying and a faint power of faith was surging through him, just like the middle-aged apprentice Lord Isaac kneeling on the ground—it was faith in someone else.

Ruger opened his mouth, as a flood of memories from his time in the Endless Sea rushed through his mind.

He noticed that neither Mahama nor Miss Varin had the same reaction as him; it seemed as if he was the only special one on the entire flying machine.

Ruger suddenly realized that perhaps in this corner of the Endless Sea, in this adjacent sea area, people like Mahama and Valin were special, while people like him were the common phenomenon at this moment.

Knowledge! The Wizarding God!
Upon arriving at the Endless Sea, he and Mahama ate and slept almost together. The only difference was in knowledge. A large part of the knowledge that Lord Kurt, who had no teacher, had collected likely came from the God of Knowledge, the bread-making fellow, who had been imparting extraordinary knowledge in various ways for who knows how long.

What bread god, what culinary god, what skills in raising subterranean beasts—everything from the beginning has been about knowledge. He has always practiced the path of knowledge, but the transmission of knowledge is only a superficial layer. What he wants to be is the god of wizards. So what kind of people are the best believers? Naturally, wizards and wizard apprentices.

Ruger felt his head getting hotter and hotter.

He speculated that perhaps when he was on the island, he did not immediately kneel down and shout wildly like that guy because he lacked identification with the god of knowledge, lacked reverence for him, and also because he had less knowledge to draw upon.

The wizard Gillian suddenly rushed towards a deserted island below.

The reason it's uninhabited at first glance is because it's so small that it could barely fit a village.

Ruger clutched his burning forehead, feeling dizzy as he was thrown to the ground.

"Use the Return Stone! Come back when everything has calmed down!"

As Gillian spoke, the eight combs disassembled in mid-air. She grabbed Valin and two combs flew up and stuck behind Valin's head, while six combs stuck behind Gillian's head. Gillian hugged the pale-faced Valin tightly, her figure flickering as if she were struggling, and finally gradually blurred and disappeared.

Ruger looked to the side and saw that Mahama had fallen with him.

Without further hesitation, the two took out double the amount of magic stones and abruptly activated the Return Stones in their hands.

The double standard amount of small magic stones turned to ashes in an instant, and the Return Stone was successfully activated, leaving only two stunned figures still standing on the shore.
