Kobold Wizard's Journal
Chapter 413 Weakness and Satisfaction
Chapter 413 Weakness and Satisfaction
In the beginning, Ruger could vaguely perceive the changes in the outside world and knew that his body was being slightly altered under the blessing of various spells. But at some point, he could no longer notice anything else and was completely immersed in the transformation by the spells.
At one point in his life, he even felt that the word "reform" was no longer appropriate.
Just like this strange, unfinished spell, Ruger felt that he was not modifying it, but adapting to it, letting the spell adapt to him, and he was adapting to the spell.
Unbeknownst to him, he was simply making subtle, barely perceptible adjustments in various places, yet he managed to add an extra node to the spell model. The spell model grew larger and larger before his eyes, and its superb compatibility allowed him to roam freely within it as if he were a fish in water.
For a moment, he felt that he was reading the spell, and the spell was also reading him, its master.
This time, he didn't even have to think about the stability of the spell. Everything was so perfectly in sync with him, as if he and the spell were growing together. The more compatible the state, the more stable it was. The unique form that belonged to him was naturally the most suitable and the most secure.
When Ruger emerged from his meditative state and stared blankly at the bedroom ceiling, he didn't react for a moment, seemingly still immersed in the magical transformation he had experienced.
Ruger blinked and scratched his fluffy head again.
He could sense that his mental energy had not reached the point of exhaustion, and he remembered that he had voluntarily ended his meditative state and left the mental energy space.
It was the feeling of complete immersion that made him linger, and it was the fatigue of his brain after working at such a high level that left him feeling somewhat dazed after leaving that state.
This created a bewildered state for the kobolds.
The effects of the spells on his body had dissipated, which was within his expectations. Looking at the sky outside, the time it took to modify the spells might be longer than he had imagined, because he was very hungry and it was already dark outside the window.
Would this level of hunger last from dusk till midnight? Obviously not.
So the only answer is that the dusk and night he lay in bed beginning his magical transformation is now in the past; this is the night of another day.
According to the stomach-timer method, it may have been more than a day.
Ruger stretched his shoulders, got up and went to the Abyss Bedroom. The physical and mental exhaustion made him feel weak, but the success of the magical modification made him feel an undisguised joy.
"Brother Luger!"
When Aiskin saw him appear, she immediately ran over happily.
As they approached, the kobold girl's smile faded somewhat.
The gurgling sounds coming from Luger's stomach made her frown even more.
"Brother Luger, are you hungry?"
Aiskin immediately pressed for an answer; in her eyes, going hungry was a huge deal.
Luger gave a wry smile.
Before he could say anything, Aiskin turned and ran away. Her agile figure and amazing speed showed that she had become stronger during her training as a fighter. She ran to the stone bed, called out to Big Fool, picked up a big pot and started working.
That was a pot that Aiskin and Big Sha Heng loved. They often used it to make soup and stew. When the two kobolds were learning to cook, they heard Daisy tell kitchen stories and firmly believed that kitchen utensils also had a spirit, and that loving kitchen utensils could make the soup more delicious.
Ruger smiled as he watched the two busy kobolds sway as they walked toward them.
Always frugal, Aiskin took out a spare stove and started cooking with several pots at once.
Vegetable soup, fruit tea, roast meat, stew, and flatbread stuck to the stone were all served to Luger, the steam rising from the food enveloping him.
Before even taking a bite, Luger felt all his fatigue disappear.
In fact, his fatigue came more from the exhaustion and weakness after a long period of intense concentration. Hunger only accounted for a small part of it. After all, he was a dragonborn kobold, and he could go hungry for a while without any problem. Besides, Ruger had always been good at enduring hunger.
The joy of the magical transformation and the aroma of the food acted like two pillars, supporting his spirit. He smiled slightly and, under the watchful eyes of the two kobolds, began to feast.
Aiskin was in charge of adding tea, and Da Shaheng was in charge of adding soup.
The hardened flatbread was torn apart and soaked in the thick soup.
Bowl after bowl, along with large chunks of roasted meat. The scalding oil from the roasted meat caused the hair on the left side of his mouth to stick together in a clump.
Of course, dragonborn kobolds aren't afraid of getting burned, especially a dragonborn kobold with a rumbling stomach.
"Your grilling skills have improved again."
Ruger said, puffing out his cheeks.
This earned him a silly, goofy laugh.
Under the watchful eyes of the two kobolds, Ruger devoured everything edible from the pot and grill. His stomach, which had been roaring for who knows how long, obediently shut its mouth, too full to utter a sound.
Luger smiled at their concerned looks and chose to rest in the space.
He actually regretted it a little. His original intention was just to get something to eat late at night, but he didn't expect that he would quickly become so exhausted. He shouldn't have let them see his weak side.
Instead of meditating to recover, Ruger chose to relax on the old recliner, cover himself with a small blanket, and have a good sleep.
This sleep was free of disturbing dreams.
Ruger opened his eyes and instantly transformed into a spirited kobold.
His mental strength was slowly recovering during his sleep.
Sleep is always a good way to recover, but it's not as quick as meditation.
Ruger got up, stretched, and looked around.
Next to the recliner was a cup of fruit tea that had gone cold.
He picked up the teacup and drank it all in one gulp. He shuddered involuntarily, feeling refreshed all over. He gently put the teacup down. Not far away, two kobolds were still asleep, their snores rising and falling.
He waved and left the space.
I returned to my small bedroom.
It was already bright outside.
He felt he should go out and make an appearance.
But with that thought in mind, the first thing he did when he stood by the bed was to start casting spells, starting with the Demon Body, one after another, including even the Lightness Spell. He used all the spells he had cast that day during the transformation.
At the same time, he carefully sensed it.
He raised an eyebrow. Things weren't as simple as he thought. For example, the Lightness Spell and Lesser Sharpness Spell hadn't changed much.
He looked at his height after the spells were applied. The biggest changes were from the spells that had already reacted with the demonic body. Among them, Mental Boiling was a small surprise, or rather, it had reacted with the demonic body before, but it was not obvious and was not an outward change, so he did not notice it.
Now that he has changed, his boiling spirit not only keeps him clear-headed, but also gives him a strange and outward aura, as if boiling spiritual power is overflowing from his body, similar to a kind of spiritual pressure.
He scratched his head, thinking that this wasn't very strong; it was probably only enough to intimidate ordinary people or low-level apprentices.
