Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 341 Beginning and End

Chapter 341 Beginning and End
Although there were slight discrepancies, this was what he wanted, as it made things easier to get started.

Ruger always kept in mind that this was a test.

He wants to carry it out perfectly, and to bring it to a perfect conclusion within his capabilities.

“I’m sorry to make you part of the assessment, it’s not something I can control,” Ruger said with a smile. “If I could control it, I would choose a more valuable one, so that even if I don’t pass the assessment, I can still gain something good.”

Suddenly, the spell was activated.

Ruger did not give him another chance.

The intense malice was like an invisible punch, and the twin wizard apprentices, who were about to unleash their power, felt as if they had been punched on the head, in their mental space, in their brains, and in their souls. All the spells they had studied and mastered throughout their lives, and the power of their faith, had no chance to be used.

The twin wizard apprentice collapsed to the ground, convulsing violently, as if two voices were howling inside him.

Ruger's silent yet forceful approach stopped the guy playing with the hamster, who had been worried the whole way and wanted to help, in his tracks.

The gazes of Big Fool and Aiskin made it clear to the other party that Ruger didn't need his help. Instead, he smiled at the two dragonborn kobolds and retreated to the side of the bench used for prayer.

Ruger didn't entirely rely on the foul-smelling skin.

For two reasons, firstly, to resolve the issue more cleanly and efficiently, and secondly, to avoid any further complications.

Secondly, he considered that there might be wizards observing this assessment, and a quick resolution might result in a better evaluation. At the same time, he didn't want his foul-smelling skin to be too conspicuous.

Of course, he also laughed at himself, saying that the twin wizard apprentices were thinking from an apprentice's perspective.

The wizard might be curious after seeing this, but most likely wouldn't ask, because every wizard apprentice has their own little tricks, and every professional wizard has their own path.

But Ruger did it anyway.

The slightly worn gray wizard's robe was instantly put away, and his figure changed. Lesser Sharpness flashed on his more powerful claws, and with a flap of his wings, he suddenly leaped out, so fast that it was impossible to stop him, as if he was the one who had accumulated endless anger and grievances.

He had secretly enhanced his lightness skill beforehand, and with the help of his wings which he hadn't used in a long time, he aimed to kill him with a single blow.

The twin wizard apprentice groaned in agony on the ground. Seemingly defeated by Ruger's strange methods, he had some unexpected reactions. He began to speak in two voices, shouting, howling, and even cursing.

Ruger frowned slightly, sensing that the storage pocket seemed to be moving strangely.

But without pausing, his enormous claws were already pressed against the twin wizard apprentices' heads in an instant.

After the transformation, the hands will grow longer nails along with the changes in the body. These nails are quite strong and sharp, so he habitually refers to the transformed hands as claws.

Snap! Thud!

As expected, it splashed everywhere.

The unpleasant, annoying howling, which sounded like a dozen mouths arguing, also stopped.

Ruger reached out and wiped the dirt off his claws on the chest of the other's wizard's robe.

Then he raised his hand and began to prepare the Fireball spell.

A sigh, its emotion difficult to decipher, rang out from the side.

"Let me do it."

The man in the distance placed the hamster in his hand on his shoulder, and a fireball spell that had already been fully activated was released from his hand, landing precisely on the mangled corpse on the ground.

The island's god, who had dedicated his life to his work in his own way, the man standing behind everything, instantly transformed into a blazing fireball.

Ruger voluntarily canceled the spell on him and put on his wizard robes.

Aiskin and Big Sha Heng immediately ran to his side. They knew that after a battle, Ruger would do something called meditation to replenish his depleted magic.

Ruger looked around. He wasn't in a hurry to meditate; instead, he was waiting for the so-called assessment.

Instead of sitting down, he quickly entered a meditative state while standing, empowering the spell model to fill the vacancy of the temporary spell slot.

But clearly his eagerness was unnecessary.

Ruger frowned, looked around, clutched the token in his hand, and then quietly turned to look at the guy who kept the rats.

Why is there no response? Is the assessment still ongoing? Or is this the usual way of things, and I need to wait a little longer? Could it be that this guy who raises rats is also involved, and we need to get rid of him too?
As if sensing Luger's gaze, the man who was fiddling with the hamster and looking at the ball of fire shivered; it was his spiritual light flickering.

Suddenly, the small, black, circular ornament resembling the coiled horns of a demon trembled. A brief fluctuation of mental energy emanated from the little thing.

—The Demon Hunter Wizard Trials have all been terminated and will not be recorded in the list of failed quests. The trial content has been temporarily changed. Please hold the item in your hand, do not disconnect your mental energy, and try to wait in a secluded place where you will not be disturbed.

The brief fluctuation of mental energy had barely stopped when it flashed again, repeating the previous content once more.

Ruger's mouth remained open for a moment.

He scratched his head, briefly organizing his thoughts.

First, he raised his hand and sent Big Fool Heng and Aiskin back to the Abyss Bedroom Space.

Then, after a moment's thought, he gripped the small black object in his hand tightly, as if about to crush it, and tried to communicate with it using his mental power. Regardless of whether the communication was effective, he began to talk about his own situation.

He should have already completed the so-called assessment, so there's no need to terminate it or to politely accept a decision not to record it as a failure.

He now believes that no witch-hunting wizards really came to the island with examinees like them.

Otherwise, this situation would not occur.

Seeing Luger suddenly frown and scratch his head from time to time, even the only god on the island, a man who raised mice, became nervous.

Luger breathed a sigh of relief.

As expected, there was no response.

He raised the small, dark object in his hand, as if to throw it forcefully and smash it on the ground. He knew that even if he threw it, it wouldn't break the stone slab on the ground, but he still stopped and raised his eyebrows.

Humans are insignificant and have few choices, so it's better to save your energy.

Suddenly, another wave of mental energy appeared, this time even more briefly.

--pass.

Luger, who was about to turn around and find a chair to sit down, paused for a moment.

The small black thing suddenly slipped from his hand and floated beside him. It stopped moving and there were no spiritual fluctuations or messages. It just stayed there motionless, as if waiting for him to make a move.

Ruger scratched his head, momentarily confused.

He waited a moment, but it was still the same. He tried to reach out a finger to touch it.

The little thing moved the instant the finger approached.

The excruciating pain seemed to reach right to the soul.

Ruger had never felt anything like this before. A force was stirring his brain through his fingers. Fortunately, the pain came and went quickly. The small, round thing soon seemed to lose its strength and fell straight down, where he caught it.

His eyes lit up, and a possibility occurred to him, recalling a scene he had witnessed before.

He hesitated for a moment, then slowly extended the finger that had just hurt and held it up beside him.

Immediately, a phantom appeared beside him. It was a slightly complex pattern that looked very similar to that of the Holy Judge Wizard. Apart from some minor differences, the biggest difference was that there was an additional pattern in the middle that resembled a broken demon horn.

Luger's big mouth involuntarily opened wide.

A man in the distance, fiddling with a hamster in his hand, watched with an envious look.

—The processing time limit has expired.

Ruger glanced at the guy who kept the rats, only managing to chuckle before feeling a change begin to occur around him.

Just like the teleportation I experienced when I first arrived on the island, this time it felt the same.

Fortunately, this time it wasn't as long.

As the dizzying sensation began to wash over him, Ruger had already ended the teleportation.

He gripped the so-called support and had barely steadied himself when he began to hear a great deal of discussion nearby, mostly expressing dissatisfaction, as if no one had completed the so-called assessment.
