Chapter 308 The Long River and Travel

Chapter 308 The Long River and Travel

Luger lay on his single bed, looking at the scroll in his hand. He guessed that this might be the sublimation ritual that old Lenser had used back then, probably obtained from Jenny, so there was no so-called contractual constraint, and it could be spread.

Now this thing has appeared here as a parting gift, and has come into Luger's hands.

The experienced old Lunser naturally knew that this thing might not be suitable for him, but he still gave it to him. He was probably afraid that Lunser would not be able to find the ascension ritual, so he would have something to rely on and keep in hand so that he would not be too anxious and confused.

The Flaming River Tractor Ascension Ceremony.

A powerful wizard discovered an ever-burning river of fire in a strange place, flowing to an unknown destination. The river seemed untouchable as it flowed through the void, and within it were countless strange chains. Thus, the wizard created this peculiar ascension ritual.

The chains connect to a certain point in the river of flames, and the ascendant, having gained power, is cleverly used to become one of the salvagers helping that wizard.

No one knows what lies at the bottom of that river, nor does anyone know how many people have unwittingly become salvagers over the countless years.

An illusory confrontation, under the influence of the sublimation ritual, with the increasing strength of the sublimated, is invisibly pulling on the chain connecting to the riverbed, carrying out a salvage operation with no end in sight.

Each person is a taut chain.

Ascended beings excel in fire-related magic. As members of the invisible chains, they can draw upon the power of that river, using it to better communicate with magic. This "excellence" is not just talk, nor is it merely about casting spells. Once ascended, their perception of fire and magic will be enhanced to varying degrees, making them more adept at modifying related spells. In this field alone, even mediocre individuals can become exceptionally talented.

The chains seemed to be pulling not only something up, but also drawing the ascendant toward the river.

Some have speculated that the strange river of fire may have simply passed through the underground world at some point, but it was unfortunately seen by a wizard, and a powerful one at that, which changed its fate, as well as the fate of countless wizard apprentices and wizards.

Ruger covered his face with the scroll he had finished reading, lost in thought.

Simply put, a fool can become a genius, and a genius can become even more genius. Even if it is limited to a certain field, such as studying only fire, it is still very broad. The more in-depth the research, the more detailed it will be. This strange sublimation ritual is still very attractive, and it is completely different from the sublimation rituals that Ruger had encountered before, which simply granted a special ability.

Although it sounds risky, this thing has been around for who knows how many years, and nothing bad has happened yet, otherwise old Lunther wouldn't have used it in the first place.

In the blank space on the scroll, there was a line of small writing, which was neither the original content nor the handwriting in old Lunther's ledger.

It reads: "A vast underground world, countless salvagers, pulling day and night, perhaps one day, with a slight chance, will become the master of that river."

Ruger carefully put the scroll away; in short, it was a nice gift.

Although something still doesn't feel quite right.

However, he didn't think about it any further. After all, this wasn't the ascension ritual he wanted, and the chances of him using it were very small. So whether there were hidden dangers or benefits, it didn't matter much to him.

Many wizards probably think the same way: whatever the hidden dangers may be, they may never encounter them in their long yet short lives.

He lay quietly on the bed and raised his hand to touch his arm.

In fact, if we really want to compare them, the Dragon Tamer Ascension Ritual is a notch weaker than the Fur Shepherd Ascension Ritual. Based on the research and experimental cultivation of different hairs, it may have a higher upper limit. It is more like a seed with different developments rather than a fixed ability. But compared to the chain-pulling boatman, the Fur Shepherd Ascension Ritual seems to be a notch weaker. That is to achieve the improvement of aptitude through bizarre means. If we compare it to a seed, it will be a seed buried at the starting point that bears everything.

Of course, saying it's everything is a bit of an exaggeration, but for someone who specializes in a particular field, what's in front of them is their world.

Ruger stroked the spot where the golden key had been planted. He had used the key's power at the dining table back then, and he hadn't felt much trouble from old Lenser.

Now that the old dog is gone, it's him who's troubled.

The blood rain kept falling, making everyone's heart race.

Ruger slowly clenched his fist, making a decision in his heart.

He would wait three more days, and if the blood rain didn't stop, he would leave the city in the rain.

Walk in the rain to the teleportation array on the mountain.

After making the plan, he felt more relaxed. He had originally planned to do a big shopping spree in the City of Burning Blood before leaving, as this place was far superior to the small Star City and was rich in resources. However, it seemed unlikely now, but fortunately, he still had some stock of various items.

Luger suddenly sat up.

He thought of old Lenser, who had emptied his shop.

Since the old dog head can move things, the little dog head can naturally move things too. If there's nothing left, then move the shelves.

Ruger got busy as soon as he thought of it.

As his mental strength increased, the size of the items he could collect also changed. He now only regretted that he wasn't a formal wizard, otherwise he could try directly to see if he could collect old Lunser's house into the Abyss Bedroom Space, which would be a wonderful experience.

Even knowing that old Lenser would not be coming back, Ruger could guess what kind of sour face he would have when he found out.

From shelves to tables and chairs, even beds are included, as well as shelves in the cultivation room. All of these can be used to place things in the Abyss Bedroom space later.

Ruger raised an eyebrow, looked at an empty culture tank, and subconsciously sniffed it.

This long trough was the one he and Old Lenser had used to try planting Sleep Mushrooms. He had a few mushrooms that he hadn't had time to plant yet, originally intending to see how Old Lenser's attempt went and then learn from him.

Ruger reached into the long trough and touched it; the magic stone buried inside had already been taken away.

Will this old dog still lack magic stones when he gets to Jenny's place? Will he still have the chance to use magic stones? Ruger often suspected that old Lunser's stinginess and greed were also an outward manifestation of his bloodline characteristics, or that the old dog was doing it intentionally, channeling the influence of his bloodline on his temperament in this way, actively choosing one that was still acceptable among many potentially bad habits and amplifying it.

Most of the three days were spent sorting through old things and meditating.

Ruger arrived at the shop door, listening to the pattering rain outside. As usual when opening the shop, he followed the steps to move the obstruction aside, then opened the inner door, and then the outer door.

He lifted his foot and walked outside, but then felt that something was missing.

He turned around, looked at the corner of the door frame, and suddenly realized that it was the sound of a bell.

Old Lenser took that annoying bell with him.
