Chapter 261 Entanglement and Growth

Chapter 261 Entanglement and Growth

Looking at the slightly surprised look in Leiden's eyes.

Ruger smiled and said, "I've decided to use this seed from the Dream Tree now and experience that wondrous feeling. I hope that by the time I successfully plant it, the soup will be ready, and that will be just right..."

Leiden saw his smile and already had a guess.

“On my way back after dealing with the trouble, I ran into that adult who was in a bad mood,” Ruger said. “She said something that suggested we might not have much time left.”

Leiden paused, nodded, and then continued poking at the campfire.

Vito sat to the side, knowing that the two men were also in trouble, and perhaps even more troublesome. He didn't want to get involved, so he just listened quietly without any complaints.

Luger glanced at the boiling pot of soup, took out the seed of the Dream Tree, and Leiden had already begun to put ingredients into the pot.

The Tree of Dreams.

Hopefully, it's a fun and good thing.

Doing it yourself is very different from listening to others tell you about it; you'll have a different experience.

Ruger went to the spot where he had been resting and uncorked the bottle.

Without being told, Zhizhi came to his side and began to circle and swim in the soil.

He slowly closed his eyes, held the seed in his hand, meditated to recover his condition, and replenished the depleted temporary spell slots. With everything prepared, he began to empower the spell model of the Clarity Dream Art.

The moment the spell is successfully cast, a somewhat rigid magical dream arises from the heart.

The dream he created under the blessing of magic resembled a small island, but instead of seawater, it was surrounded by nothingness. The so-called island was actually a green meadow in the nothingness.

Ruger examined the dream that had been born and slowly walked to the middle of the meadow.

The seed had already appeared in his palm, just as it had been held outside of his dream.

He opened his hand to examine the seed. In this simple dream, he seemed to see it more clearly, able to see the stripes on the seed in his hand. Ruger was afraid of touching something he shouldn't touch, seeing something or someone he shouldn't see, such as angering the old woman. Otherwise, he would have already used the Divine Object Technique to investigate the seed outside the dream. He still remembered that the Divine Object Technique was a dangerous spell that could kill him while bringing benefits.

Luger flipped his hand, and the seed tumbled and fell from his grasp.

The seed fell on the grass, and the whole dream jolted; Ruger even felt as if the entire dream was cheering.

The grass sank in on its own, swallowing the dream tree seed that the old woman had specially cultivated.

At first, I didn't notice anything, but soon I felt that this magical dream was expanding. After a while, it stopped, as if it was being swallowed by seeds buried in the grass, and began to shrink. When the dream shrank to a certain extent, the swallowing stopped, and the magical dream was able to expand again.

This process repeats until expansion and consumption continue unabated, reaching a state of equilibrium that continues indefinitely.

Luger's energy consumption also reached its peak at this moment and then stabilized.

This is what is known as the persistence phase.

Ruger thought to himself that it wasn't too difficult. Of course, it would depend on how long he had to persevere. If he had chosen the fiery magic seal back then, he estimated that the restored mental energy would be enough to sustain most of the consumption, making it much easier.

A feeling of comfort suddenly welled up inside me.

He knew that the little guy hidden under the grass had begun to sprout.

Dreams are truly ethereal and elusive, yet the existence of the nightmare world allows wizards to obtain things that are both real and illusory. The distorted objects of the nightmare world, as well as many things born in the environment after birth, are mostly like this.

Ruger calmed down, allowing the recovery and consumption of his mental energy to proceed more smoothly. The alternation of the lengthening and contraction of the magical dream initially caused the consumption of the Clear Dream Spell to fluctuate wildly. Now, although the consumption was quite high, it had stabilized and was easier to maintain.

At the same time, he was also sensing the changes in the dream. The combination of the dream and the sprouting seed would probably be very popular with the nightmare wizards. In their hands, this thing might be used in many more ways and for many more purposes.

After an unknown amount of time, Luger felt as if he were a tree, a sapling just beginning to sprout. It was at this moment that the seed of the Dream Tree finally broke through the soil.

It gradually grew into a sapling.

From the moment Ruger began to experience the changes in dreams and tree species, he was in a peculiar state, which seemed to be why the sapling was able to break through the soil and begin to grow so quickly.

When the saplings reached the waist of the tree, another sapling sprouted from the roots, struggling to absorb all the nutrients it needed and began to grow desperately. Meanwhile, the first sapling seemed dissatisfied with this competition and was also growing desperately, pushing out its unexpected little brother.

Two Dream Trees sprouted. When the first strong one grew to Luger's shoulder height, the other struggling sapling also made initial success, growing to Luger's waist.

Luger felt his mental energy being depleted suddenly.

The two saplings jostled and crowded together, gradually intertwining and becoming closer in height, like two partners holding hands with branches. Their roots separated in the crowd, each searching for its own way to survive, and the grass helped them shift slightly. But the tops of the trees remained entangled, making the two trees look more like they were holding hands and leaning their heads together.

The distance between the tree trunks at their base looks like enough to build a swing for a child to play on, which would be a wonderful place to play.

Luger felt he was about to reach his limit and had to plan ahead to prevent damage to his mental space.

He had already noticed this situation, but he had been maintaining that state. Now, due to excessive exertion, he finally broke free from that state.

As he changed, the two intertwined dream trees also stopped their astonishingly rapid growth.

The two trees are now almost the same height, about twice the height of a Luger. Although they still look weak and their trunks are not thick, they don't look like the saplings that Leiden described at all.

As the growth of the two trees slowed down, Luger's energy expenditure also decreased rapidly, and he finally relaxed after experiencing a heart-stopping ordeal.

He waited quite a while longer before the growth of the two trees gradually came to a standstill, as if they couldn't grow too tall at once.

In his dream, Luger wandered around the two trees.

Looking at these two intertwined trees, I was unsure whether this was a good thing or a bad thing.

Ruger opened his eyes, let out a long breath, and then moved his nostrils, inhaling the rich aroma of meaty broth.

"Your mental energy fluctuations just now suddenly became very intense," Leiden said softly.

Vito also looked over with a worried expression.

The two had already started sharing the broth, and while Squeak was protecting him, he also seemed to be craving it.

"There was a slight mishap, but it went relatively smoothly."

Luger smiled and gently patted Zizi's smooth head.

He took the broth from Leiden and immediately began to eat happily. Large chunks of meat rolled and tumbled as the spoon stirred, and of course, Zizi got his share too. Leiden was also using a stone to stick the flatbread to the side.

It wasn't until he'd eaten a few pieces of meat that Ruger realized he'd only opened his eyes; the dreamscape of the Lucid Dreaming spell was still clearly visible from another perspective. He hadn't stopped the spell; the tree had simply stopped growing noticeably. Just as Raiden had said, maintaining the Lucid Dreaming spell would become much easier after planting this tree.

From this further perspective, if the two intertwined trees continue to grow like this, they will probably eventually form an archway.

"Squeak!"

The clever insects nearby chirped in delight at the delicious food.

Luger was drawn back to his senses by the noise. He stroked his chin and looked at Squeak, thinking it wasn't a good sign. Squeak would only grow bigger and bigger, but no one would feed it.

Squeak seemed oblivious to its owner's worry. When Luger looked at it, it raised its head and squeaked twice.
