Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 255 Temptation and Disgust

Chapter 255 Temptation and Disgust

Ruger recalled that the first time he saw a Bloodborne Infected Wizard Apprentice was in his small alchemy room, by the window with Elena, watching the cat-headed lady next to the old stone statue wizard in the alley fight a Bloodborne Infected Wizard Apprentice. That was the first time he had seen a real Bloodborne Infected Wizard Apprentice up close, not an imposter like Elena. In fact, he didn't know much about Bloodborne Infected people.

Squeak quickly vomited the person out.

This poor thing has changed; it's most likely that it fainted from the stench of its skin and then died from the powerful, sizzling stomach acid.

Squeak was still spitting on the side, constantly conveying an extremely disgusting message to Luger.

However, there are some ambiguities in the limited descriptive ability of the squeak. For example, right now, while conveying disgust through consciousness, it also expresses the idea that the other party has a strange and tempting fragrance.

This was difficult for Ruger to understand.

It was this enticing aroma, which Luger could hardly comprehend, that made Zizi so eager to swallow the wizard apprentice.

But then it instinctively felt nauseous.

Ruger looked around. The battle had ended so quickly that he hadn't had a chance to see their spell-like abilities, or even make a mess of the area.

"Thank you for your help, Lord Ruger."

Vito bowed respectfully to Ruger.

Ruger waved his hand, casually dispelling the spell. His figure began to change, and he put the robe he had put away back into his hand.

Leiden was already squatting beside the corpses of the two wizard apprentices, seemingly searching for something.

“They didn’t bring any storage pouches, meaning they didn’t have anything related to their identity,” Raiden said, but continued searching. “They had Nightmare Organs, but they weren’t actually fused…”

Leiden thoroughly searched the wizard apprentice, including the one corroded by the sizzling stomach acid, and even removed their unfused nightmare organs, tossing them to Ruger.

Luger reached out and took it, a longing emanating from its wings.

He pondered for a moment, then suddenly brought the Nightmare Organ to Zizi.

After some communication, and confirming that the Nightmare Organs did not have that tempting or disgusting smell that belonged to the wizard apprentice, Ruger threw it behind him, wrapped the two objects with his wings, and began to enjoy them.

"Were these the same people who were bothering you before?"

Ruger had already put his robe back on.

Vito was also identifying the bodies as he rummaged through Leiden's corpses.

Vito nodded and said, "These two wizard apprentices and their companions have been bothering me. And these three over there are people I haven't seen before… Also… when I returned to the ravine from the rabbit hutch, a seemingly normal human wizard apprentice chased me, but then he disappeared, probably busy with something else…"

Ruger looked at the six people. Whether they were wizard apprentices or those few who couldn't discern any specific path to transcendence, they were all infected with bloodline. This was a strange group that resembled a race, yet was not a race. In the eyes of their partner, they were probably people who could be consumed and sacrificed.

Under Luger's orders, Zizi dragged the six corpses of the infected bloodline to the ground.

The pits in the ground were also covered up.

"continue."

Luger looked at the bottle in his hand and urged them to get started.

The three of them began wandering in the mountains again.

Ruger put away the bottle. His unusual squeaking behavior made him curious, so he collected a little blood from the infected wizard apprentice.

Even if this thing isn't of much use, it can eventually be used to feed the unborn Blood Curse Doll. "Squeak!"

It squeaked and turned its head to look at him.

Ruger sat on Squeak's back, and at his signal, Squeak followed Leiden and Vito away from the place of the brief battle. Ruger then began to meditate on Squeak's back, replenishing the temporary spell slots he had just used.

The unusually smooth resolution of the group of troublemakers seemed to have put Vito in an exceptionally good mood.

When Ruger opened his eyes, he felt that the troubles emanating from Vito had lessened.

The black, withered forest gradually thinned out.

But every tree also grew taller.

Under Vito's leadership, efficiency is gradually improving.

Although they haven't recovered to their initial level, Ruger and Leiden are already quite satisfied; as long as they don't decline further, it's already an excellent performance.

Suddenly, Luger felt his wings tremble.

He lightly leaped off Zizi's back, but did not land on the ground.

A pair of seemingly real yet illusory wings were gently flapping, and Luger, suspended in mid-air, moved his arms and legs, still somewhat unaccustomed to it.

"Lord Ruger's Nightmare Organ is being cultivated quite well!"

Vito looked on with envy.

Ruger was experiencing it with fascination, smiling back at his and Leiden's gazes.

During their conversation with Vito, they learned that this guy had arrived in the Nightmare World much earlier than the two of them. However, he had followed those people all the way, and apart from the two Nightmare Organs that were given to him out of nowhere and some Nightmare Creatures at the beginning to avoid trouble, his Nightmare Organs had not been cultivated along the way.

In other words, if they encounter a Nightmare Demon or some other strange Nightmare monster, Vito will be the first target of the three, giving Ruger and Raiden time to escape.

After flying in place for a while, Luger's wings began to consume his mental energy.

He tried to stop maintaining his mental energy, but he fell to the ground. His wings couldn't even maintain their shape and retracted behind him, disappearing from sight.

"Can't it last long?" Leiden asked curiously.

"If you want to do it easily, you need to continue training."

Ruger pondered for a moment.

He felt that it was more than that. While he was circling around in place, he had a feeling that he could fly more easily. He didn't mean that maintaining the wings was easy, but that he could float without having to keep flapping those big things.

He just didn't know what it would be like to return to the underground world; he thought it would probably be less useful than in the nightmare world.

The little incident has passed.

The three of them once again wandered aimlessly in a corner of this unknown nightmare world.

Ruger and Leiden were there to carry out the tasks assigned by Mutris and the old woman, while Vito was there to evade the mysterious and scheming group of people, help the two confirm their direction, and also receive their protection.

Beyond these involuntary circumstances, Ruger and Raiden are also fulfilling their original intentions for coming to the Nightmare World: exploring this unknown world and improving themselves. Vito is also following the voice he unexpectedly sensed in his heart, exploring the direction his heart points to, even if he may end up with nothing.
