Chapter 254 Completely Different and Vomiting
Chapter 254 Completely Different and Vomiting
Ruger sized up the people opposite him. It seemed that since they had already revealed themselves, they no longer concealed themselves. He could sense a strange aura emanating from them. Although they were humanoid, they had a non-human feel to them. They were even different from the strange wizard apprentices in the City of Burning Blood and the vampires he had encountered before. It was a unique feeling, like a completely different species suddenly appearing in a flock of sheep. Even though they were also woolly and grazing, they still gave people a distinct feeling.
Ruger also remembered Miss Elena from the apothecary next door. Although she survived that day and separated herself from her original vampire bloodline, perhaps because of her mixed blood, she didn't have that abrupt and conspicuous feeling. It was probably because of her specialness that the unfathomable blood-robed wizard took her away.
To find a bloodline infected here, Ruger felt his brain was a little overwhelmed.
Moreover, it seems that these guys are cooperating with some wizards in an organized way, since the clients and leaders that Vito met along the way were all normal human wizards.
Ruger felt the texture of a small pebble under his feet and wondered why he was standing there.
The newly ascended Nightmare Wizard, Lady Myutris, had said quite a few things to him and Raiden in a teasing manner. Some of these things, such as the intentions of the High Council, had been circulating among wizards. However, the location of the nascent Nightmare Lord was not something ordinary people could know. It was the old woman, a special being, who discovered the approximate location of the Nightmare Lord's slumber and sent people to throw those cone-shaped objects, which is how Myutris learned of this place.
In theory, Ruger and Vito are no different, experiencing the same things.
It's all because of these restless guys, these huge guys, these guys who show only a glimpse of themselves or their entire faces, who keep fussing over their goals, leaving these little wizard apprentices exhausted.
Ruger raised his hand and scratched the hair on his chin.
Wow!
Three more figures appeared to their left.
Ruger glanced at the people and slowly moved his feet.
With wizard apprentices present, one should not stand too close, otherwise a spell might directly affect both people.
Although Ruger recognized the Bloodborne Infected's identity, he did not make a fuss. However, those people focused more on him. Just like their own identities, it was difficult for people who had not lived in the City of Burning Blood to know about the existence of Bloodborne Infected. And it was also hard to believe that a wizard apprentice with a dog's head and such obvious modified features did not know about the City of Burning Blood.
This naturally attracted more attention from people with bloodline infections, creating a feeling of meeting fellow countrymen.
Ruger glanced at the six people, and it seemed that only two of them were wizard apprentices, which was probably why the other party had not yet made a move.
"Gentlemen, this is a private matter between us and this gentleman."
A wizard apprentice on the left stepped forward and looked at the three of them, speaking in a low voice.
Ruger believed that the two wizard apprentices were among the three on the left, indicating that the three who were initially out in front were gathering information.
“Don’t underestimate them, they’re strange… Even those who aren’t wizard apprentices possess one or two types of magical abilities…” Vito whispered.
“We were originally in an employer-employee relationship. Greed consumed his reason, and he stole our magic stones and precious experimental materials. If you are his friends, you may have been deceived by his words. He was using you. If you leave now, I can let it go. The mastermind is still just him,” said the wizard apprentice who stepped forward first.
Leiden glanced at Vito instinctively.
Vito simply shook his head with a wry smile.
Ruger didn't even turn his head. Although he couldn't see through lies—at least not sophisticated ones—he could discern malice. He had already used the Foul Skin spell, concealed within subtle magical fluctuations, through continuous use of the Spirit Hair Nourishment spell. If Vito wanted to use them, he would undoubtedly harbor ill intentions. But as it turned out, this guy with the tilted hat was currently reliable.
"I trust my friends."
Luger also stepped forward.
To make the foul-smelling skin even more effective, a conspicuous dog head isn't enough; you need something more attention-grabbing.
“I hope you can understand what I’m saying, instead of letting those ugly hoods cover your ears,” Ruger said with a laugh. “If you leave now and stay away from my friends, I can let it go…”
As Ruger spoke, the spell was already quietly brewing.
He didn't give these people a chance to waste any more words. He thought his smiling face was annoying enough, and that had achieved his goal. These fanged creatures, like the vanished Blood Fortress, were ostracized. They mutated under the blood rain and no longer had their former selves. They had dealt with the City of Burning Blood too much and had too many unpleasant experiences. Seeing a guy like him, covered in fur and scales, the smiling face that kept appearing on his dog head would be especially annoying.
Therefore, he thought it was enough, just right, everything was just right.
He lightly touched the ground with his feet and suddenly leaped out, instantly clearing the temporary spell slots, and his figure began to change.
Since Vito said those guys all have spell-like abilities, the safest way is to prevent them from using their abilities.
As Ruger's foot slammed into the ground, Squeak on the other side seemed to receive a signal and leaped out from underground, biting a wizard apprentice's leg and dragging him to the ground in an instant. With a short cry of surprise, the man disappeared from sight.
Ruger did not let them suffer in astonishment and anger.
The stench of his skin flashed by, and Lesser Sharpness was applied. He waved his hands, spread his wings, and dodged left and right. Each movement was accompanied by the waving of his hands and the fleeting stench of his skin. This was already considered over-casting, but Ruger liked it this way. He didn't want to end up with a weird, unstoppable wound like Vito.
When Ruger withdrew his index finger from the forehead of the last infected bloodline, it was all over.
"squeak!"
Squeak also climbed out of the burrow.
At first, I was delighted that it could help Luger, but then I felt pain.
Ruger looked at it in surprise. When Squeak dragged the wizard apprentice away, he had paid attention to the location and was also affected by the smelly skin. There shouldn't have been any problems.
Immediately afterwards, it started vomiting, rolling around in its mouth.
This conveyed to Ruger a sense of dislike and revulsion; the guy had actually swallowed that wizard apprentice, and now he was disgusted with him and was spitting him out.
