Kobold Wizard's Journal

Chapter 150 Demons and Vampires

Chapter 150 Demons and Vampires

late at night.

Luger suddenly opened his eyes, snapping out of his meditative state, and his ears twitched involuntarily twice.

It seems like there were some noises coming from next door.

He pursed his lips and continued his meditation. Perhaps Lord Green had drunk too much wine at dinner, because old Lenser seemed to be in a good mood today, and he brought out his treasured wines again at dinner.

Before he knew it, five days had passed since he arrived, and Ruger was about to master a new rune.

Previously, when he was in the Lower Realm, he could only glean limited information from his diary and the wizard apprentices he encountered. With this superficial understanding, he secretly compared his progress with theirs, never quite grasping what constituted genius speed, since they all claimed to be geniuses. It was only through a conversation with Dasoya Stars that he learned the Upper Realm's environment was beneficial for cultivating meditation techniques. Now, having experienced it firsthand, he realized that his previous comparisons with them in the Lower Realm were presumptuous.

Ruger believed that with the help of the Magic Mark Meditation Technique, he was definitely first-rate, if not one of the rare geniuses in a large wizarding organization.

Another night of meditation.

He only managed to take a short nap just before dawn.

His dragonborn kobold body, combined with the mental strength of a wizard apprentice, allowed him to squander it recklessly, without any fear of exhausting himself to death.

When I woke up, the young man in black had just come to deliver breakfast.

"Please enjoy your meal, sir." The young man in black said before turning to leave.

“It looks delicious,” Ruger said. “Is my uncle still in the room?”

"Lord Lunser went out with his teacher early this morning."

After the young man in black finished speaking, he seemed to let out a long breath, turned his head, and was about to leave.

"You don't seem too welcoming to me?" Ruger said with a sudden wicked grin.

The black-clad vampire youth stopped again, let out a long sigh without any attempt to hide it, and turned around to face Luger, who was sitting at the table and had just picked up a meatball.

“It’s not what you think, sir. It’s just that I’ve always wanted to live in the City of Burning Blood,” the young man in black said. “Mr. Lunser promised me before that he would consider me when he needed apprentices, and I also said that I was willing to have a suppression array inscribed on my body, but obviously, I didn’t have the opportunity.”

"Thank you for your breakfast, it was indeed delicious, but engraving something like that won't do you any good, will it? Why go there?" Ruger asked curiously, forking up another meatball and dipping it in some broth.

"To learn more about pharmacy, to see more things, and to see a friend I haven't seen for many years..." the young man in black said.

Suddenly, a commotion broke out outside.

There was the sound of chaotic hooves and low barks.

Ruger bent down and forked twice before finally picking up another dark brown dried fruit.

It seems old Lenser had a good day, he thought to himself.

He looked up again and saw that the fair-skinned young man in black was now looking terrified.

Creak! The door to the small bedroom next door slowly opened.

Green walked out with a smile.

"Oh? So Lord Green hasn't left home yet today." Ruger hurriedly placed a plate of untouched, unappetizing, and unfamiliar vegetable rolls in front of the empty seat on the table.

Green smiled, sat down at the table, took out his cutlery, picked up a vegetable roll with a fork, and looked out the door.

The door to the room was not open at the moment, so one could only hear the noise outside through the door.

Ruger quickly emptied the plate in front of him.

Some subterranean beasts are also the main ingredients for brewing potions. For example, Old Lunser kept a few small ones and would regularly take some of their blood, and even their nails and feces from their special feeding, to brew the corresponding potions.

Ruger wanted to go out and see what the goods he was going to transport next looked like. The noise grew louder and louder, and the young man in black's face became increasingly grim.

Just as Ruger was about to get up, a hand reached out and pressed on his shoulder. It was Green, who was eating a vegetable roll with a frown.

When he looked over, Green simply smiled.

Boom!

The entire door was reduced to pieces.

Ruger reached out to block a flying shard and stared intently toward the doorway.

A group of people dressed in exquisite blood-red armor rushed in.

The leader was tall and imposing, with wide, angry eyes. He scanned the room and finally fixed his gaze on Luger.

The not-so-large living room suddenly felt crowded, the atmosphere gradually became heavy, and the air seemed to stagnate.

Green gently patted Ruger on the shoulder with one hand and put the last vegetable roll into his mouth with the other.

At that moment, a person leading a subterranean beast that only reached his calves squeezed in, and the tall leader made way for him.

The little beast bared its teeth and looked extremely ugly, with its nostrils pointing upwards. After entering, it moved its nose and came to the vicinity of the dining table.

“Sir, both of these outsiders have the aura of demons on them,” the person leading the small beast said, turning around.

The tall man at the head of the group stared even wider.

"My lord, they..." The young man in black beside him was already sweating profusely in just a short while.

The tall leader glared at him: "Are you an accomplice of these two outsiders?"

The young man in black immediately fell silent.

“Last night, someone broke into the lord’s castle and did something unforgivable,” the man said, staring intently at the young man in black before turning his head away. “Outsider, do not attempt to resist.”

"Take them away!"

The tall leader gave the order directly.

Ruger's expression changed several times, and he felt a light pressure on his shoulder again.

"The fact that the vampires have been able to fight against the City of Burning Blood for so many years means they have formal wizards..." Green's voice rang in Luger's ears.

The tall leader noticed the change in Luger's expression, and the knight-like man suddenly raised his hand and pointed.

Luger, who was about to get up, froze instantly, as if he had been put in shackles.

“It’s a zero-ring spell, Blood Shackles, but unfortunately it has already been collected by the Temple…” Green was looking at Ruger, comforting him with his eyes, when his voice rang in his ears again.

“Don’t struggle,” Green said. “If you’re bound by Blood Shackles, forcibly breaking free will injure you. The more powerful a zero-ring spell is, the shorter its duration will be. Generally speaking, spells follow this principle, and Blood Shackles is no exception.”

Ruger noticed that the way these guys looked at him was completely different from how they looked at Green.

As Ruger listened to Green's explanation of magic, he suddenly remembered the guy's identity.

But at best, that apprentice seeker identity could only protect himself, Ruger thought with a touch of envy.

However, Green did not reveal his identity for a long time. Several knights dressed in exquisite and gorgeous armor came up, picked up the two of them, and dragged them to a tightly sealed prison cart outside the courtyard.

Where will they be taken? Do vampires have official wizards, first-ring wizards or second-ring wizards and above? Will they even be able to come back alive?
Ruger's head slammed into the prison van, which then began to move, surrounded by complete darkness.
